Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE: Meeting my helper

The next morning, I woke up feeling pains all over my body. I couldn't even turn my neck to the other side. As I sat thinking about what to do, a middle-aged woman approached me. "What are you doing here at this early hour of the day?" she asked. I told her everything she needed to know. She became very sad and decided to help me out. She asked me if I could cook and clean her house. I told her that I was ready to do anything for the sake of my child.

She then took me to her house. She offered me water and showed me to a guest room which was to be my room. I thanked her. She left me to settle down and have a quick shower. I hurried and went to to help her in the kitchen. We prepared breakfast and served it on the dinning table close to the kitchen. She asked me to sit. Auntie Morgana then went inside and came back together with a girl of about twenty. She was introduced to me as Clarissa, auntie Morgana's only child.

She then told Clarissa that I was there to help with the household chores. She grinned and sat down ready to attack the food on the table. After eating, I took all the plates to the kitchen to wash. I cleaned the kitchen neatly and went back to my room. There was a knock on my door. I opened it and Aunt Morgana told me she was going out with Clarissa and that I should rest. I thanked her and went back inside. I picked up my phone and called Thelma but she could pick up. I guessed she might have gone to school so I sent her a voice message telling her I was fine and that I was in a friend's house. I then took some pictures and sent them to her.

I tried Bobby again but to no avail. I concluded that he no longer needed me so I deleted his number and all his pictures. I even got rid of anything that reminded me of him including some of his friends pictures. I called Sandra and told her everything. Like she always did,she advised and encouraged me to be strong for the child. We talked a lot about school and she asked what I wa planning to do when school reopened. I told her I had no plans of going back to school with my pregnancy. She was really sad. I was the only true friend she had. I took some long talk to make her understand that I would always be there for her. After we ended the call, I fell into a deep sleep. The most peaceful sleep I had in days.....
