On the day I was assigned this mission, I thought the universe was finally done fucking around with me.

Revenge wrapped up in a neat little bow and handed straight to me like an apology for everything I lost.
They sat me down in a clean room with white walls and dead eyes and told me my target was the youngest Vipera and mafia prince, Valentino Vipera.
They told me the Black Vipers trafficked people.
Then they leaned in, lowered their voices, and said the word that turned my blood to ice.
Children.
They said it like it was just another bullet point in a briefing. Like it wasn't the kind of thing that destroys lives. But I was also given very simple instructions.
Get Valentino's attention.
Seduce him.
Earn his trust.
Get inside his inner circle.
Collect evidence.
And burn the whole fucking thing to the ground.
And when I first laid eyes on Valentino, I felt exactly what I was supposed to feel.
