"Bram, do you believe what he said?" Liana asked.
"Of course, he's our CEO after all," Bram replied.
"He and I are just friends. Because his son likes me, I allowed him to call me 'mother'," Liana explained, trying to clarify the misunderstanding.
"Is that so? So you and Mr. David are not really married?" Bram interjected.
"Of course not, I'm just his employee here. Just a worker. I would never cross my boundaries," Liana added.
"Alright then, I'm quite relieved to hear that," Bram said, feeling a little happy.
However, even though they weren't truly married, Bram knew a man wouldn't say something like that without a clear reason.
"I think I need to be a bit wary of Mr. David," Bram thought to himself.
"Liana, are you free today after work?" Bram asked.
"After work, I should be free, but I have to deliver these documents to David for him to sign. They're a request from Mr. Oscar," Liana answered.
"I see, can I come along? I mean, I have some work I want to discuss with him too," Bram explained.
"Okay then, we can go together later," Liana said, excited.
Meanwhile, David, who was at the hospital, kept thinking about Liana. He didn't know what was wrong with him today that he couldn't forget Liana.
"Why do I feel like I always want to be close to her?" David said, unaware that Erik was also in the room.
"David, are you running a fever? Why are you acting so strange now? Did you hit your head before?" Erik teased, though he actually knew David was falling in love.
"Shut up, I'm not talking to you," David interrupted.
"Hmm... Sometimes I wonder how Liana managed to melt the heart of a David who is as cold as the North Pole ice," Erik added.
"Wait, do you think I look that scary?" David asked.
"Yes, you look very scary, David, especially when you're working," Erik retorted.
"Is Liana that afraid of me?" David added.
"I don't know about that, why are you asking me?" Erik cut in.
"How do you make a woman not afraid of a man anymore?" David asked, curious.
"It's easy, my friend, you just need to win her heart. With what? Of course, by taking her out, eating, buying her everything she needs, taking her to watch a movie. Basically, treat her like a queen for a day, and you'll see the next day she will definitely become closer and won't want to be far from you," explained Erik, who was experienced in conquering many women's hearts.
"Is that so? Isn't that a bit excessive?" David said, unsure.
"Trust me, women like to be pampered, and something excessive is what they want," Erik added, trying to convince David.
"Alright, if it really works, I'll ask her out tomorrow," David said.
"Tomorrow? My friend is acting fast, it turns out," Erik teased.
"Shut up, or I'll give you a lethal injection," David threatened.
"Relax, man, relax," Erik retorted.
In the afternoon, Liana and Bram arrived at David's house together. Liana pressed the doorbell and the door opened shortly after.
"Oh, Miss Liana, you're here," said Aunt July, who opened the door.
"Yes, Auntie, is Mr. David home?" Liana asked.
"Yes, Miss, Mr. David just got back," Aunt July replied.
"Just arrived? Didn't he get permission to leave the hospital this morning, Auntie?" Liana added, worried.
"Auntie's husband said he was supposed to be home this morning, Miss. But Mr. David said he wanted to go straight to work today," Aunt July explained.
"Hah... Is he crazy, Auntie?" Liana said, incredulous.
"What brings you here, Miss?" Aunt July asked.
"I brought a cooperation document from a client for Mr. David to sign," Liana said.
"Oh, in that case, please come in, Miss," Aunt July said.
Liana and Bram went inside. They waited for David to come down in the living room.
Meanwhile, David, who was in his room, had just lain down on his bed after returning from the hospital.
"Sir, Miss Liana is here, bringing some work that needs to be signed," Aunt July explained.
"Liana, really, Auntie?" David said, excited.
"Yes, Sir, but..." Aunt July interjected.
"But what, Auntie?" David asked.
"She came with a man too," Aunt July explained.
"A man? It must be Bram. It must be him," David said, feeling displeased.
"Tell Liana to come to my room alone, Auntie, bringing the documents. Make sure Bram doesn't come here," David ordered Aunt July.
"Yes, Sir," Aunt July replied.
Back in the living room
"Miss Liana, Mr. David requests you to come up," Aunt July said.
"Is that so, Auntie? Alright, let's go, Bram," Liana invited.
"Wait, Miss, Mr. David said he doesn't want to see too many people. He asked only you to bring it to him," Aunt July explained.
"Only me? But we came together to visit Mr. David, Auntie," Liana refused.
"Yes, I know, Miss, but Mr. David wants it that way," Aunt Mirna interjected.
Liana knew this was just a trick by David. Finally, Bram gave in and told Liana to go up alone.
"Are you really not coming, Bram?" Liana asked if Bram didn't want to join.
"No, I'm afraid Mr. David might be disturbed if there are too many people. Go now, I'll wait for you here," Bram explained confidently.
"Alright," Liana was actually a bit annoyed by David's unprofessional behavior like this.
Liana went up to the second floor and headed to David's room. Upon arriving there, she immediately entered and looked around the entire room, but didn't find David anywhere.
"Where is he?" Liana muttered as she went inside.
"Are you looking for me, Liana?" David said, who was apparently already standing behind Liana.
"Sir, you startled me, can you please not surprise me?" Liana said, trying to calm herself down.
Without warning, David immediately lifted Liana onto his shoulder.
"What are you doing, Sir? Put me down," Liana struggled, hitting David's back.
David threw Liana onto his bed.
"What do you want, Sir? Please don't do anything forbidden," Liana said, being cautious.
"I told you to stay away from him," David explained with emphasis.
"Why? What right do you have to forbid my friendships?" Liana asserted.
"What right do I have? You want to see what right I have? I want this," David said, immediately forcibly kissing Liana's lips.
Liana was very shocked by David's behavior just now. She initially froze but then tried to struggle. Unfortunately, David was stronger than her. She couldn't push David away.
David kept crushing Liana's lips until Liana finally had a chance to bite David's lip.
"Ahhh..." David winced in pain, and that was Liana's chance to push him away.
"Are you crazy, Sir?" Liana got up from David's bed and straightened her clothes, which were slightly messed up by David.
"Here are the documents, deal with the rest yourself," Liana said briefly, immediately leaving David's room.
Bram, who was waiting downstairs, finally saw Liana return after a while of waiting.
"Let's go," Liana invited Bram.
"Liana, what's wrong?" Bram asked, seeing Liana's face looked a little sad.
"It's nothing," Liana replied briefly.
Bram and Liana left David's house together. And at that moment, David watched them from the second floor of his house.
"Liana, I'm sorry," David regretted.
Upon arriving home, Liana kept thinking about her first kiss that had been taken away by David.
"What's wrong with him? He's so annoying," Liana grumbled in front of her dressing table.
"How dare he kiss me like that, that rude David," Liana said angrily.
Morning arrived, David, who had just woken up from his sleep, immediately went to the bathroom to get ready.
After getting ready, he finally decided to go downstairs to have breakfast with Rey.
David came down and was a little surprised why all the workers in his house were lined up so neatly. Was it to welcome him to eat? Even though it usually never happened.
David saw a familiar person sitting and having breakfast at his dining table with Rey.
"Mama..." David said, and it was indeed his mother.
"David, you're awake, son," the woman said, immediately standing up from her chair.
"When did you arrive, Mom? Aren't you very busy there?" David said, immediately sitting down in his chair.
"Sweetheart, I heard that your health was bad yesterday and you were hospitalized, of course, I was worried and immediately flew here," explained Desy, David's mother.
"I'm not sick anymore, go back," David insisted.
"Dad, Grandma just arrived. Why are you telling her to go back?" Rey wondered.
"Just eat properly. Don't interfere," David firmly told Rey.
"Don't be mean to him," Desy defended, immediately hugging Rey.
"Besides, what mother can be calm when she knows her son is sick," Desy added.
"You only care about me when I'm sick. Even during your older brother's final moments, you weren't by his side," David explained, voicing his resentment.
"David, Rey is here, please watch your words," Desy interjected.
"I've tried to watch them, but youu..." He was cut off because Dinda, David's younger sister, hugged him from behind.
"Brother, you're still as jealous as you used to be, huh," Dinda said.
"Let go..." David pleaded.
"No way, kiss me first then I'll let go," Dinda said.
"I said let go," David snapped, immediately forcibly removing Dinda's hands.
