Chapter 47 – Ice and Fire Alchemy Body

It felt as if it were about to lose its mind. Though it did not know who the other party was, the shiver that coursed through its body made it acutely aware of the presence of death.

Yet Gu Yuena remained utterly indifferent, her violet eyes calmly sweeping over the trembling plant spirit beasts surrounding her. Her lips parted slightly, and her voice, carrying the might of heaven's thunder, resonated from all directions:

"Now, kneel before me!"

At once, all the plant spirit beasts shuddered, and without hesitation, their branches bent as if bowing before Gu Yuena.

Huo Yuhao stood beside her, dumbfounded. He had known Gu Yuena for a long time; she had always seemed serene, detached from the world, yet this was the first time he saw her in such a commanding, awe-inspiring form.

He gently pinched the tender petals he still held in his hand and quietly said,

"I'll speak to them."

"Hmm."

At the soft affirmative, the oppressive pressure ebbed away like a receding tide. The plant spirit beasts, still trembling from the near-death fear, dared not lift their branches and remained in their kneeling posture.

Huo Yuhao ignored them, focusing instead on the exquisite, fragrant flower before him. His voice calm, he asked,

"May I ask your name?"

"I don't have a name, but you may call me Youyou."

The flower quivered slightly, seemingly reassured by Huo Yuhao's gentle tone, its tension easing somewhat.

"Human, you are kind… I will not hold it against you for intruding into our home."

Yet, as if still uneasy about Gu Yuena's earlier command, it continued,

"And we are not imprisoned. The poisonous barriers around here were deliberately placed by that person to protect us, to prevent humans from invading our territory."

"…."

Gu Yuena and Huo Yuhao exchanged a brief glance. Somehow, despite Gu Yuena's expressionless face, Huo Yuhao immediately understood the meaning behind her eyes: she had no desire to waste words on a fool.

Better not to be infected.

Huo Yuhao coughed softly to compose himself, maintaining a calm tone as he asked,

"Youyou, if the poisonous barriers are for protection, may I ask—can any of the other plants leave?"

The calm words echoed in the ears of all the plant spirit beasts, drawing a hushed silence.

This was exactly as Huo Yuhao expected. In his previous life, the reason the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass willingly became his spirit was largely because it too had been restricted by barriers, unable to leave.

Without the assistance of the Aromatic Silk Beauty, these plants could not have remained near the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. This was precisely how Youyou had become the authority in this domain.

"Even… even if what you say is true," Youyou hesitated, its faith shaken, "that person also helped us with planning, so that we could better cultivate using the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well."

Huo Yuhao twitched his mouth, a hint of pity in his gaze as he looked at the large pink flower.

"Those who raise livestock naturally try to fatten them. You understand that principle, don't you?"

Youyou fell silent. Huo Yuhao's voice remained calm.

"I suppose you already know the answer, don't you?"

He stopped speaking to it and, taking Gu Yuena's hand, walked toward the cold spring, the chill emanating from it making his body shiver instinctively.

Even though he now possessed an Ice Attribute Martial spirit, the quality of the ice energy provided by Skydream Ice Silkorm was not particularly high. Coupled with his limited cultivation, he could not resist the terrifying cold of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

"Here will do."

Fortunately, Gu Yuena did not allow him to go further. She stopped, eyes fixed on the ice-white spring ahead, her tone tinged with seriousness.

"The process may be painful. If you cannot bear it, cry out."

"Understood."

Huo Yuhao inhaled deeply, seated himself cross-legged, and released his Ice Attribute Martial Spirit.

As of now, his Martial spirit had only absorbed the ice energy provided by Skydream Ice Silkorm. It was still elemental in nature, so aside from emitting a faint chill, it produced no other noticeable changes to Huo Yuhao.

"I'm ready."

Gu Yuena gave a slight nod. A familiar aura, uniquely belonging to the Silver Dragon King, emanated from her. Instantly, the valley containing the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well trembled violently, as if reacting in a chain reaction.

"What… what's happening?!"

All the plant spirit beasts stared at the spring in terror. Their naturally sensitive senses allowed them to feel the terrifying energy buried beneath the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

"Is that… a dragon?"

Youyou's voice shook in disbelief. Only when it sensed the dragon energy within did it understand what Gu Yuena had meant by saying, "It relies on the grace of the dragon to give birth to an intelligent parasite."

"I've lived here all this time, and I never knew there was something like this beneath the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well…"

The previously calm lake churned as if boiling, waves rising continuously. The already extreme cold intensified further as the residual energy of the Ice Dragon King surged upward, freezing the air above the lake into thick frost.

And it was not just the cold spring. Even the crimson hot spring exhibited the same phenomenon. The plants knew without doubt that even a single drop of water from these springs contained enough energy to incinerate everything in the valley into scorched earth.

Yet their fear was unnecessary. Under Gu Yuena's control, the springs were contained as if by an invisible barrier; not a speck of energy escaped.

As time passed, the turbulent lake suddenly erupted with two beams of light shooting skyward, blinding in their brilliance. Seconds later, the light dimmed, revealing two colossal dragons formed from the lake itself.

One white, one red. Though seemingly made of ordinary water, the energy they radiated far surpassed the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well itself.

"This…"

Even from this distance, Huo Yuhao could clearly sense the terrifying energy of the two dragons. His throat rolled with tension as he looked at Gu Yuena.

"Didn't you say I'd only absorb a little?"

"To absorb a little does not mean to take only a little," she replied, her rare excitement evident. "I will seal away the rest. I did not expect their dragon souls to remain, so this is an unexpected gain."

"Will it help you?"

"Hmm. Their power is useless to me, but their divine souls will help me restore my strength. Sealing them will also be easier with their cooperation."

Huo Yuhao's expression twitched as he asked again, "And the Fire Dragon King?"

"It is also for you to absorb."

As she spoke, Gu Yuena raised her hand. The two nearly instinct-driven dragon souls gleamed with excitement, surging toward her.

"The energy of these two Dragon Kings, even a fraction absorbed, is lethal for you. You should consider yourself fortunate—both an Ice and Fire Dragon King, with opposing attributes."

By some unseen means, the two dragons contracted mid-flight, transforming into two thumb-sized spheres, their surfaces etched with deep dragon patterns.

"Dragon Pills?"

At Huo Yuhao's questioning, faint apparitions detached from the Dragon Pills and swiftly entered Gu Yuena's body.

"Any single attribute will rapidly destroy your body, so you must absorb both, allowing the energies to balance. This will also greatly improve your physical constitution."

Huo Yuhao's mind involuntarily recalled the poison scripture from his previous life, where simultaneous absorption of Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot led to the Ice and Fire Alchemy Body. He nodded strangely.

So this was the upgraded version of Ice and Fire Alchemy Body…

"Since you understand, let us begin."

Gu Yuena extended a single hand, sending two slender streams of energy from the Dragon Pills into his chest.

Agony struck, instantaneous and overwhelming.
