Chapter 46 – Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Gazing at Huo Yuhao's somewhat perplexed expression, Gu Yuena spoke softly, her voice ethereal as always.

"At the peak of the Dragon Clan's power..., they were considered direct subordinates of the Dragon God. As for me, I am a fragment of the Dragon God himself, even to the point of being regarded as the Dragon God's true essence. Naturally, our statuses are not the same."

"So… the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well is the resting place of the Ice(Water) and Fire Dragon King's remains?"

Huo Yuhao hesitated for a moment, then suddenly looked up at Gu Yuena.

"Would it… be of any help to you?"

Gu Yuena did not answer immediately. She lifted her head, her eyes glinting with an enigmatic light. Huo Yuhao, caught slightly off guard, stared back uncertainly.

"What's wrong?" he asked tentatively.

"Nothing," she replied, withdrawing her gaze and shaking her head slightly.

"Only the powers left behind by the Dragon God, which share the same source as mine, can benefit me. By contrast, the Ice Dragon King's remnants are far more useful to you. Not only can they help your Ice Attribute Martial Spirit evolve, they will also bring immense benefits to your own cultivation."

Huo Yuhao froze for a moment at her words. He had not expected that Gu Yuena would bring this up because the Ice Dragon King's remnants were meant to aid him, to allow him to absorb them.

He opened his mouth several times, yet found no words. After a long pause, he finally whispered two words:

"Thank you."

"You're welcome," Gu Yuena said. "If you grow stronger, you will be able to gain authority more quickly among humans. It's merely mutual benefit."

Though her voice remained as ethereal as ever, Huo Yuhao sensed a subtle lightness in her tone that hadn't been there before.

Returning to the matter at hand, while absorbing the Ice Dragon King's remains sounded wonderful, the reality was far from simple.

Gu Yuena had mentioned before that her current strength was only at the level of a First-class God, whereas the Ice and Fire Dragon King was far more powerful—essentially a God King.

Was that something he could even hope to absorb? He was only at the spirit master realm! (T/N: Tang San has already reached Spirit Grandmaster. And our protagonist is busy with his harem. Lol)

He could not even fully absorb the frigid springs emitted by the Dragon King's remains—was he seriously thinking of absorbing the Ice Dragon King himself? Wasn't that ambition far too great?

One must remember: Dragons are naturally proud and domineering. Even after death, their lingering will would never allow their power to be easily taken by others.

In his past life, his teacher Mu En had suffered great losses because of a single Dragon Pill.

Even after a hundred years of careful nurturing, he had still been undone by the hidden malice within it, ultimately harming his own soul.

If a mere ordinary Light Holy Dragon could bring the famed Dragon God Douluo such misfortune, then absorbing a Dragon King would be incomparably more difficult.

"The two Dragon Kings have been dead for many years. The residual energy they left behind is long gone from the God King level. Whether there is even First-Class God-level energy remaining is uncertain," Gu Yuena said, seeming to guess Huo Yuhao's thoughts as she glanced at him sideways.

"Moreover, even though you cannot fully absorb them now, absorbing just a portion is sufficient to trigger an evolution in your Martial Spirit. Prepare yourself—we will depart immediately."

Huo Yuhao nodded silently. He turned briefly to Tang Ya, who was still collecting life force, giving her a short instruction, before turning back to Gu Yuena.

"Let's go. Fortunately, I know the way."

Before he could finish speaking, a soft, delicate touch pressed into his palm. Huo Yuhao froze and instinctively looked at the hand holding his—it was Gu Yuena's slender fingers. Her ethereal voice sounded in his ear.

"No need for such trouble."

With that, Huo Yuhao clearly felt an invisible fluctuation emanate outward from Gu Yuena. The spirit beasts around them flickered with fear in their eyes, letting out low whines before scattering away from their current location.

In the next instant, a pitch-black, inky spatial rift appeared before them, swallowing the two of them whole.

When their vision returned, the sight before them was the sky streaked with multicolored poisonous clouds, and not far ahead lay the sharply divided red-and-white lakes.

The surrounding plants had also noticed the intruders. Some glowed faintly, while others rotated their stems and leaves, subtly turning toward their position.

A pale pink flower at the edge of the color boundary swayed lightly, its voice tinged with caution.

"Who are you? How did you get in?"

It could not help but be nervous. It had not sensed even the slightest disturbance from the outside poison array, yet these two had appeared out of thin air. More strangely, it could not sense any energy fluctuations from the silver-haired human girl.

One must know, plant-type spirit beasts naturally have far stronger perception than their animal-type counterparts. The flower had never encountered anything like this.

Yet the silver-haired girl seemed completely indifferent. Her purple eyes merely glanced coldly at the flower before she pulled the boy forward toward the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

"Stop! Answer my question, or don't blame us for being impolite!"

Anger crept into the flower's tone—not only due to their attitude but also because it wanted to protect its environment. If these humans' origin went unclarified, who knew if they would expose this place once they left?

If that happened, all the plants here would face total annihilation.

At that, the girl finally stopped as she had intended, tilting her head slightly to look toward the flower. Though her gaze remained calm, it sent a chill down the flower's stem.

"Y-You… what do you intend to do?"

In an instant, the petals of the pink flower instinctively drew inward. Under the barely perceptible pressure from Gu Yuena, even its voice became cautious.

"You've intruded into our home. You must… at least state your origin."

"Home?"

Gu Yuena let out a faint, amused chuckle. Arriving at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, she observed briefly. As Huo Yuhao had described, the surrounding Jade Phosphorous Exotic Flower of the Seven Absolutes and Nine Absolute Flowers bore the unmistakable marks of deliberate cultivation.

It seemed the cultivators intended to protect this place, but even these plant spirit beasts themselves were trapped by the poisonous barrier, unable to leave.

"You all are simply called parasites. You call this a 'home'? Parasitic creatures who owe their sentience to the grace of the Dragon Clan, what power do you have to be impolite to me?

As she spoke, Gu Yuena's ethereal voice turned frigid, like plunging into an icy abyss. Her crystal-like silver hair glimmered brilliantly without a breeze.

In an instant, a terrifying pressure descended upon all the plants in the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Everywhere Huo Yuhao looked, the plants trembled violently under the oppressive force, while the pink flower known as Aromatic Silk Beauty let out a pitiful wail of submission.

"Stop! Stop! I was wrong! I really know I was wrong!"
