Kiefer's POV
After we arrived at Adrian's house, Adrian showed his grandfather the box and the threatening letter. His grandfather, calm but intrigued, gave a small nod.
"Follow me," he said, motioning toward a side door.
We walked through the hall, and he stopped in front of a seemingly ordinary panel on the wall. He pressed his thumb to a fingerprint scanner, and with a soft click, a hidden door opened. Beyond it was a room straight out of a tech movie—walls of screens, computers with city footage, maps, and advanced investigation gadgets.
"Wow," Jay-jay whispered, eyes wide. "This is amazing."
Ciel , immediately sat down at a console. "Where do we start?"
"Try Kiefer's front porch," their grandfather instructed. "See if you can find any unusual activity."
Ciel typed quickly, and the footage of Kiefer's front porch appeared on the largest screen. At first, everything looked completely normal. We watched, rewound, and replayed the footage repeatedly.
Then Yuri pointed at the timeline. "Wait… from 10:35 to 10:47. Look at this gap. Something's missing."
The grandfather leaned closer, a small smile forming. "Smart kid," he said to Yuri. "You've got a sharp eye."
He then turned to Adrian. "Try to retrieve the deleted footage."
Adrian's fingers flew over the keyboard. Within minutes, the missing segment was restored. On the screen, two men on motorbikes approached Kiefer's house. One of them carefully placed a box on the doorstep before riding off.
We zoomed in, analyzing every detail of the scene. The grandfather leaned forward, pointing. "Zoom into the eye of the person placing the box."
Adrian adjusted the angle until the figure was crystal clear. On his hand, a distinct tattoo appeared: a jagged skull with a dagger crossed behind it and a small flame on top—a gang mark unmistakable for anyone who knew the area's criminal groups.
Kiefer turned to Rory. "See if you can investigate and find out who they are."
"On it," Rory replied.
"endrix, I need you to check for any connections online or in known databases," Kiefer instructed.
"And I'll check if they've got any loan business," Drew added, leaning closer. "But at first glance… I don't recognize them."
The grandfather nodded, deep in thought. "Keep digging. Whoever did this knows what they're doing, but we have the evidence we need. Let's track them before they make another move."
We all exchanged determined glances. The real investigation had just begun.
