I hear sirens blaring everywhere, shouts, screams, even a gun shot, now and then, i feels like my time in another country fighting against people that never deserved to be killed, i hope this isnt some attack from enemy continents or something, our cell phone wont work, mysterious monsters, i dont know what country would do this, but its the only logical thing i can think of, inwish i could save everyone, all the screaming, the agony these civilians are going through, they dont deserve it
I got home, Emily somehow fell asleep on the drive here, im surprised she could sleep, I brought her inside and put her on the couch

*spraying her head with antiseptic spray* *tears open a gauze pad and placed it on top of her head*

She was on the side of the street and she said her parents were killed and a monster ripped her hair out so I offered to help, Can you hold this here while I bandage her up

Yeah I got attacked too, i think it's a country attacking the US, but the creatures had these gems, that had this weird pull to them
(Jane) You sound like a crazy person, but I'll believe you since there's a sleeping kid with a huge wound on her head
Her name is Emily, she lost her parents right in front of her, I promised to protect her with some of the guns I got and stuff, we still have the canned food in the storage closet right? We're going to need it once we run out of food
(Jane) Okay that's a lot, yeah I even filled it up last week so we have more than usual

Jane looked scared but it's better to prepare for the night than talk for a bit
I locked every window, turned off all uneeded lights in the house, i went to my room and grabbed my SIG Sauer M17, i have the most training with it, its beed with me since I deployed and they let me keep it since the gun broke completely and they were just going to get rid of it anyway, i found new parts for it and repaired it
I gave Jane the Remington 870, she has more experience with shotguns since she goes goose hunting, her eyes looked at the shotgun in surprise
It's needed, if one of those things breaks in, the buckshot should be able to one-shot it
(Jane) You haven't even told me completely what's going on
I turned off the living room light, plunging the whole room into darkness

There are humanoid monsters with their whole face being a mouth, claws and they hunt, they screech, all types of things, it's going to be a long night, make as little sound as possible, one dropped coin can alert them, so using the guns is a last resort, but only if it's needed, then we'll use it okay?

It was starting to get dark, I could hear distant screams and the sirens were still blaring through the night, the night was mostly quiet, I heard some clicks and some screeches, we kept our quiet though, there was one moment during the night that scared me the most

I looked at jane, she looked terrified, we could hear someone asking for help, it sounded like an old lady, but weirdly different, the sound of food step slowly walked away from our house, that was the only weird encounter through the night, emily didnt wake up all threw the night, jane took a nap and woke up, i slept when i saw the sun peak above the buildings, my eyes were heavier than anything i have ever picked up, i woke up 3 hours later, i jumped seeing emily looking down at me

That smells delicious and it's the name of the monster, i named them cause I thought that I might have learned about them first, but I don't think so anymore

I walked to the kitchen and made myself some breakfast sausages and eggs, Jane dropped out of college when i got back from the army, she said it was "too hard", out parents left the house under my name, so i owned it but i felt bad that our parents didnt leave my sister anything so i took her in, she mostly plays video games and ocasionally goes out for geese hunting, thats all i really know about her
(Emily) So, sir, I don't think you told me your name *scratching her head*

(Emily) Will you still be bringing me to the military base?
Of course, I was planning on staying here till I see helicopters, usually during things like this they will tell us when they can help and stuff

I unwrapped her head took the gauze off and sprayed some more disinfectant and cleaner then put another gauze on the wound and bandaged her head back up
Does it not hurt? Usually, it hurts to have disinfectant added to the wound
(Emily) It didn't feel like anything, felt like you were just going through my hair
I see, anyway, hey Jane! Im going to go get some wood from the shed and board up the windows a bit
(Jane) be safe
I will be and they die in the sun so I should be safe
(Jane) okay!
I know I said that they die in the sun so I don't have to worry but im still going to bring my metal baton at least, anything could happen especially with them mutating so much
I walked up to the shed, the hinge was broken, and I could hear a faint shuffling sound in the shed, i picked up my metal baton and knocked on the door, the sound stopped instantly, i felt like it was a mawler, it would've made at least a chitter, or click, but it was silent
If your human comes out slowly, I know you're in there, i have a weapon and am not scared to hurt you

I slowly open the door with a metal baton at the ready

I walked into the shed, its not a big shed, but big enough to hold a car, i looked around, couldnt see much, i need to get to the light switch, i keep hearing shuffling but when i look in its direction, i see some kind of dust cloud, it must be quick, i got to the light switch and flicked it on, i saw a black humanoid figure with 3 sharp fingers, it had its hands on its head, it didnt have the holes on its head, i heard a ticking sound
I instinctively started running to the door just in case it exploded, but the second I turned around, it did too, its whole head was a huge eye, it was white, then a bright light came from its eye blinding me, I ran into the wall of my shed
Crap! Damn that hurts
I started swinging my baton, hoping to keep it away, i blinked quickly trying to get rid of the stars in my eyes, my other hand that i was following on the floor found the door way so i pulled myself out of shed, i finally got the stars from eyes, i got up and stood at the entrance to the shed, the creature launched it self at great speeds at me, i landed back with it on my chest, the sun was blinding me, so i couldnt see anything, i could see the claw of the creature coming towards me, Its body was steaming, skin bubbling like tar, but it didn't stop, its claw was inches from my throat when-
BOOM!
The creature's head jerked sideways, a ripple in the air following the swing like thunder chasing lightning. The ground beneath me shuddered as the monster flew off, its neck twisted at an impossible angle. Dust and debris settled, and behind the fading echo stood a broad-shouldered man, sweat on his brow, a sledgehammer resting on his shoulder like it weighed nothing.
(Stranger) Sorry for shaking your yard, figured you wanted some help!
He gave a half-smile, the hammer humming faintly with a low vibration that made the dirt tremble beneath his boots.
Well yeah I didn't expect to meet a shining mawler either

Shining Mawling
Description:
Taller and very fast, they have the normal mawling body but their head only has a giant eye, 3 clawed fingers, which makes a ticking sound before its eye lights up in a flash, blinding anything it is looking at, it doesn't have a mouth so it is unsure how it gets its nutrients.
Abilities:
It can spew out a blinding light from its eye
It moves very fast, (faster than a normal human's reaction time)
Emits a ticking sound before its eye's light turns on
Weaknesses:
Very Fragile bones, can be crushed or broken very easily.
Its eye is a major weakness if you can hit it
