Chapter 971 - Chapter 970: Blaziken and Aggron, Mega Evolution!

Just from the first clash, Regi already felt that Cain's Pokémon were much stronger than his own.

He slightly regretted not having retreated the moment he saw him, and instead trying to measure himself against him.

However, it wasn't like he was out of options—he still had cards up his sleeve and some room to maneuver.

With a serious expression, Regi took out two more Pokéballs.

"I'm counting on you... Manectric! Crobat!"

With that, two Pokémon appeared.

Just from their appearance and aura, it was evident that both were Quasi-Elite level.

Cain raised an eyebrow, showing a half-smile, half-mocking expression.

"I see you haven't changed, Regi. Still relying on other people's Pokémon to achieve your goals."

From the moment they appeared, Cain's system had already scanned their data.

A Light Blue quality Manectric at level 53, and a Light Blue Crobat at level 54.

But in the end, they weren't his. And in battle, that always shows.

Cain made no move to summon more Pokémon.

He had already figured out all of Regi's cards.

So better to use them as a whetstone for Aggron and the other three. Winning this fight would be validation for them.

A battle like this would raise their morale and also help them improve.

"Are you ready to fight at full strength?" Cain asked with a smile to his Pokémon.

All four responded enthusiastically, brimming with fighting spirit.

Who cares if the opponent has more Pokémon?

Who cares if two of them are Quasi-Elite level?

They could still fight back.

"In that case, let's try a new way of battling," said Cain, pulling out some stones from his storage space.

He handed one to Blaziken and another to Aggron. He also held one in his hand, while another identical one was already embedded in a ring on his left index finger.

"Blaziken! Aggron! Mega Evolution!" he shouted.

"Blaazk!"

"Grahhh!"

Upon hearing the command, Blaziken and Aggron were filled with excitement.

Over the past three days, Cain had made time to take Aggron to train Mega Evolution in another dimension. The experience was direct and powerful. Aggron could feel the boost that form granted him.

That's why, seeing two Quasi-Elite Pokémon, they didn't show a hint of nervousness.

From both Key Stones, yellow flashes burst forth like lightning.

And the Mega Stones that Blaziken and Aggron held began to shine brightly.

A blue energy, similar to lightning, flowed between both stones, connecting Cain with his Pokémon.

Both were enveloped in light.

And just seconds later, that light faded.

In front of everyone stood Mega Blaziken, imposing and sleek, and Mega Aggron, exuding overwhelming dominance.

Pokémon: Aggron (Purple) – Mega Form

Gender: Male

Level: 46 (+5 levels)

Type: Steel

Ability: Filter

Held Item: None

Egg Moves: Dragon Rush, Head Smash, Stealth Rock, Screech, Body Slam

Basic Moves: Tackle, Harden, Mud-Slap, Headbutt, Metal Claw, Rock Tomb, Protect, Roar, Rock Slide, Take Down, Metal Sound, Iron Defense

Learned Moves: Iron Head, Earth Power, Iron Tail, Snore, Magnet Rise

TM Moves: Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Brick Break, Shadow Claw, Stone Edge

In its Mega Evolved form, Aggron became bulkier. Its dark gray armor lightened, and the metallic sheen intensified.

Its body, head, arms, and even tail appeared armored with an even thicker layer.

This Mega Evolution added five levels, taking it straight to Quasi-Elite level.

Additionally, in this form, its Physical Defense stat reached 230 points—an absurd number. It was the terror of all physical attackers.

Even its Attack rose from 110 to 140 points.

Most of the improvements focused on these two attributes.

Though it lost its Rock type and remained only Steel after Mega Evolving...

That eliminated its former double weaknesses, giving it rock-solid defenses.

Now, Aggron had reached its peak power.

"Graaaahhhh!"

"Blaaaaazzzkkk!"

Mega Aggron and Mega Blaziken stood firmly on the battlefield.

Regi was stunned.

He stared fixedly at both Mega Evolutions.

He knew Blaziken and Aggron, but he never imagined they could evolve even further beyond their final forms.

Was it because of those strange stones?

What if my Pokémon could evolve like that too...?

Greed sparkled in Regi's eyes.

A raw desire that didn't even question whether he could realistically obtain it.

Cain, seeing his expression, didn't mock him.

Even though he had been training Mega Evolution for a while, he knew its duration was limited.

At most, three minutes.

"Gengar, stay alert to the surroundings. If anything living approaches... eliminate it."

Before the real battle began, Cain ordered Gengar to monitor the perimeter.

Mega Evolution wasn't to be revealed just yet.

And now, the real fight began.

"Pupitar, Politoed, take care of those four. The other two are for Blaziken and Aggron," said Cain.

The four Pokémon nodded.

"All right. Pupitar, Precipice Blades!"

Cain had already made up his mind: if he was going to use Mega Evolution, Regi had to die—no matter the cost.

And with him, his Pokémon too.

"Politoed, Belly Drum! Jump, then Mud Shot!"

Politoed activated his strongest move, sacrificing half his HP to double his Attack.

"Aggron, Stone Edge! Target: Crobat!"

"Blaziken, Flare Blitz! Target: Manectric!"

Cain unleashed all of his Pokémon's signature moves at once.

The goal: annihilate Regi and his team like a devastating storm.
