Chapter 79 - Chapter 78: Karin Awakens, Adamantine Sealing Chains Rampage

Sasaki City, where Karin and her mother lived.

"Karin, take a break!"

Kana came out of the house carrying a pot of tea, calling to Karin, who was practicing the Strength of a Hundred Seal in the yard.

"You've been working so hard these past few days, and that makes me happy.

But you need to balance training with rest. Sometimes, pushing too hard has the opposite effect."

Still gathering chakra without turning her head, Karin replied firmly:

"Mom, don't worry about me. I have to master the Strength of a Hundred Seal before Itsuki-kun arrives."

"I can already feel that I'm close to success. That means Itsuki-kun will come soon, and I absolutely cannot slack off now."

She had the same determination Hinata once had.

The future video content had already proven true—if she failed to master the jutsu, it wouldn't look like an error in the vision, it would only look like she hadn't worked hard enough.

"Lard Itsuki is coming?" Kana blinked in surprise. "How do you know that?"

She activated her Kagura's Mind Eye to scan the area, but found no trace of Itsuki's chakra in Sasaki City.

Her range wasn't wide—she couldn't sense for tens of kilometers like the advanced form of the jutsu—but if Itsuki were nearby, she would have noticed.

"Anyway, I just know!" Karin quickly realized she had said too much and didn't know how to explain further.

So, she simply focused harder on her training.

Kana frowned slightly. Her daughter had been acting oddly lately.

Since moving to Sasaki City, three different girls had visited, all close with Karin. Kana never figured out their origins.

Through indirect questioning, she eventually learned they were Konoha shinobi connected to Itsuki, which eased her suspicion.

But Karin herself often seemed distracted—sometimes muttering, sometimes laughing at thin air, sometimes spouting knowledge she shouldn't have known.

She rarely left the house, yet occasionally revealed information Kana herself hadn't heard.

If she hadn't been certain her daughter's mind was sound, Kana might have thought the house was haunted.

"Alright then," Kana sighed. "Since Lard Itsuki is coming, I'll prepare some cakes and brew fresh tea."

But before she could head inside, several sharp cracks echoed through the yard, followed by a loud crash.

"Karin!" Kana dropped the tray and ran back in horror.

From Karin's back, several long golden chains had burst forth—the Adamantine Sealing Chains.

But they were completely out of control, whipping wildly, gouging holes in the ground and smashing part of the neighbor's wall.

"Don't panic! Calm yourself—guide them with your chakra and control them with your mind!"

Kana's voice trembled. She hadn't expected Karin to awaken the chains so soon.

But Karin had been too impatient, forcing her training. That risked dangerous backlash.

Kana herself didn't know the Strength of a Hundred Seal, nor could she restrain the chains.

All she could do was shout encouragement.

"I'm trying, Mom, but I can't control them!" Karin's voice cracked with panic.

The chains lashed even more violently. Then, hearing Kana's voice, Karin's focus slipped—

—and the golden chains turned toward her mother, shooting forward like spears.

"Mom, look out! I can't stop them!"

Tears welled in her eyes. Itsuki-kun, please! If you don't come now, something terrible will happen!

Kana froze. Even without Karin's warning, she knew she needed to move. But her body wasn't fast enough.

The Adamantine Sealing Chains were about to strike her down—

—and suddenly, a figure flashed across the yard, sweeping her off her feet just in time.

BOOM!

The chains slammed into the ground where Kana had stood, shattering the stone steps to rubble.

"Mom!" Karin gasped in horror, her heart racing.

She spun desperately, searching for Kana.

Her chains flailed in sync with her panic, lashing the yard into chaos.

"Lard Itsuki!"

Kana's breath caught.

She looked up to find herself held securely in Itsuki's arms, his feet steady on the rooftop.

He had come. And he had come just in time.

Her fear melted away like snow in spring. With Itsuki here, nothing could happen to her.

Still, she couldn't help crying out:

"Lard Itsuki, please help Karin! She can't control herself!"

"I know," Itsuki said calmly, eyes locked on Karin.

Originally, he had planned to make his entrance more dramatic—to deepen Karin's gratitude and dependence, he had even "scripted" her Adamantine Sealing Chains going slightly out of control.

But he hadn't expected reality to spiral this far. If he had been even a moment late, Kana might have died.

"Karin!"

The moment Karin heard his voice, her panic peaked—and the chains whipped straight toward him.

"No! Stop! Don't! Please stop now!!" Her whole body trembled.

It was one thing to endanger her mother. But Itsuki? How could she possibly harm him?!

"Don't worry, Karin!" Itsuki leapt to safety with Kana in his arms. His voice was firm yet soothing.

"I'll protect myself—and your mother. What you need to do is calm your heart and feel the power inside you."

He couldn't touch the chains directly—many bore sealing properties, and ordinary ninjutsu couldn't stop them anyway.

For now, all he could do was dodge, keep Kana safe, and give Karin the space to regain control.

Seeing Itsuki unharmed, Karin forced herself to steady her breath.

Her chains slowed, though they still lashed unpredictably.

Itsuki set Kana down in a safe corner, then clapped his hands together.

"Wood Release: Tree Binding Technique!"

A towering tree erupted from the earth beneath Karin, its vines snaking toward her.

But her chains reacted instantly, tearing the vines apart with ease.

This wasn't a conscious defense—just a reflex, like how a person throws their hands out when falling.

"Wood Release: Multiple Binding Trees!"

One after another, massive trees burst forth, their branches and vines weaving together like a living cage.

Karin's chains shattered several, but soon she was entangled, her body wrapped tight in living wood.

Wood Release naturally absorbed chakra.

The instant the vines bound her, her chakra flow turned chaotic.

The Adamantine Sealing Chains lost their fuel and collapsed to the ground, clattering harmlessly.

Itsuki exhaled in relief.

Crisis averted.
