On another note, old man Peter also brought Jimmy to one of his secret hideouts located in the Blue Skies Industrial Park. That's right, you read that correctly, a secret hideout. It was at this place that he was preparing things for the big plan. He had isolated an area of the site and turned it into a controlled environment with a decontamination antechamber and everything else.

For you to have an idea, it was necessary to take a decontamination shower and wear a special suit to enter there. Jimmy would sometimes help the old man inside when he asked for help with a part of the plan.

Now, let's talk a little about the old man's past since you must be curious. From the information Jimmy managed to gather, apparently, this hideout is just one of many that old man Peter has spread around the world.

It turns out that, upon being discharged right after the Korean War and after some other thing that the old man didn't want to go into detail about, he began working as a mercenary/hitman for whoever paid the most, and during that period of his life, he made a lot of money and also built these bases around the world discreetly.

After that, old man Peter's story gets a bit confusing. Jimmy only knows that something happened, and because of that, the old man made the decision to disappear from the map for good and pretend to be a hobo after faking his own death.

Bullworth's choice, however, was not exactly random; he chose the town because one of his hideouts was located there, and also because it is a small town that would go unnoticed by anyone who, by some miracle, decided to look for him.

Now, returning our focus to this hideout in Bullworth, the place was what you would expect from the hideout of a rich spy/assassin/mercenary: a secret elevator hidden in an abandoned, empty warehouse that leads to another underground warehouse, this one divided into sections and completely soundproofed.

In these sections, you would find various things, among them a large shooting and armed training area, an underground racing track that extended throughout the city's industrial area, vehicles of all kinds, firearms, bladed weapons, grenades of all types, and a whole bunch of other types of equipment.

Whenever Jimmy showed up at the place, old man Peter spent some time teaching him how to drive, handle firearms, and finally, melee weapons.

Just like in hand-to-hand combat, his progress in these three areas was nothing short of monstrously terrifying; the same, however, could no longer be said about his progress in espionage, which, let's be honest, was at least pathetic by comparison.

Now, putting aside his training with the old man, let's talk about his comic.

First of all, during the weekdays, Jimmy always reserved at least three hours of his day to work on his comic.

As for weekends, well, on those days, Jimmy dedicated at least ten hours of his time working on that project.

And the progress speaks for itself, seventy-six sketched pages turned into four hundred and eighty-seven.

The only problem was that, as the month went on and this number of pages kept growing, something became evident to Jimmy: it would be completely unfeasible to compile the entire East Blue saga into a single book.

Four hundred and eighty-seven pages, the number of pages of a thick book, and that represented only the initial arc from Romance Dawn to the end of Orange Town. This means that if Jimmy insisted on putting the entire East Blue saga into a single book, well, that book would end up weighing more than three kilos, costing far too much to produce, which means it would end up being sold at an even higher price, and to top off the pile of problems, the book would be over twenty centimeters thick. The simple act of reading it would become an exhausting task, and these things would simply drive people away.

There was no way; it was simply impossible to go ahead with this idea of compiling entire sagas into single books.

Fortunately, Jimmy realized this relatively early, and the solution he found for this problem was, well, basically to divide the story into more books; the first book he would release would tell the story up until Buggy's defeat in Orange Town.

The following books would adhere to this same pattern, with each of them containing no more than seven hundred pages.

Anyway, he finished the sketches of the first book in one month, which means that probably in another two months, he would have a completed manuscript ready for printing. After that, all that would be left was to find a publisher interested in publishing it, who would also offer a good deal.

But now is not the time to think about these things; there were still two months left, and a lot could happen in the meantime. So for now, let's return to the present, to August thirty-first, the last day of the month, and the day the big plan against Mr. Burton would be put into action.

=Scene Break=

The day started like any other Wednesday. Jimmy woke up, exercised, took a quick shower, changed clothes, and left for that day's classes.

But behind the appearance of normality, today would be the day of the big plan. After classes, Jimmy would jump over the school wall and meet old man Peter at the hideout to prepare for the attack.

Everything was already prepared, the equipment, a disposable vehicle, everything properly disinfected and ready to be used.

And the most important part of the plan, the old man had studied Mr. Burton's routine thoroughly and knew that the teacher had developed, over the last month, the habit of spending some time in the Old Bullworth Vale garden at night.

The man went there just to spend some time sitting on a bench staring at nothing, and that was perfect for them; that would be the place where they would attack him.

The ticks of the clock sound and time passes with anticipation; in just a few more hours, under the cover of night, a certain Mr. Burton would realize that his life, which he thought was already bad, could become much worse.
