CHAPTER 9
"Look, James, you can't make me talk like this; I've been through worse than this."
"Don't worry, everyone talks eventually; you just need the right pressure."
"Ha, no, really? The right pressure? Hahahaha."
"Don't worry, Alan, you will talk and willingly."
"Look, what are you saying, huh? Like that?"
"Yes, like that."
James takes the knuckle-duster from among the various torture instruments on the table, slips it onto his fingers, and with a very hard punch strikes Alan's chest. The blow to the chest was enough to break his ribcage; Alan was having trouble breathing.
"Aaa, James, cough cough, aaa, you can't make me talk like this."
"I'm sure, Alan, I'm sure." James grabs Alan by the hair and lifts his head so that he can make eye contact.
"Look at me; look at my face."
James lands another punch with the knuckle-duster on Alan's face. Alan's nose breaks; the sound and sight of the breaking nose would be enough to make most people vomit. Only an "aaaa" escapes from Alan; he no longer has the strength to say anything. Without saying anything, James brings another punch down onto the broken nose.
This time Alan doesn't even have the strength to make a sound; but with the pain he manages to utter as much of a sound as he can.
"Look, Alan, I loved you; but you are one of the reasons for the pain I've suffered until now. Maybe you're a pawn, maybe you're not, I don't know; but you will suffer even more until I get what I want from you."
"Hahahhahaha, it reminded me! James, do you know why we killed your father? We had to get him out of the way; they were going to remove him from work with forged documents; but I made a better offer: to kill him and his family. And yes, they died too I killed them."
James is shocked by what he hears; he takes a few steps back. Memories of his life with his family pass before his eyes; up until the last memory, his father's death. When James comes to himself, he sees that he has been punching Alan to death; he doesn't stop, he continues.
"Shut up, shut up; don't talk any more, shuuut."
And when he lands the final punch, Alan's face is unrecognizably smashed; bloody, he has in some way been killed by James's fists.
James still stares at Alan's dead body with anger and hatred.
"Damn it; I killed him without getting any information about Kagemura."
James is now only looking at his bloody fists.
"This blood is only the beginning; I won't stop until it's all over."
James leaves Alan's corpse at Alan's home and calls the police, leaving the phone line open without saying anything.
Now next, he will go to the home of one of the people named in the files besides Alan; but finding and catching this person will be harder than Alan because he is a businessman who always moves with bodyguards. Although known publicly as a good man, he is one of Kagemura's pawns behind the scenes and does various things for him.
James turns on his computer; his breath still hasn't fully returned; his body is still producing adrenaline. For the first time he has lost himself this completely he has never lost himself like this before. Taking a deep breath:
"Alright then, let's see where we can find you, Victor Dans. I see Dans Enterprises has the opening of its new building in five days; after the opening I'll be on your neck, Victor Dans wait for me." James gets up from his desk; at that moment his phone rings; it's Eva calling. James answers and holds the phone to his ear.
"Hey James, you need to come to the station; Chief Inspector Alan is dead."
James acts surprised as if he hadn't done it.
"What, what are you saying? How did it happen, who did it? That masked bastard?"
"I don't know, I can't understand why this happened; it was as if someone wanted to inflict as much pain as possible. It was awful. James, I could barely hold back my cries please come here, we need everyone."
"Okay, I'm coming right away; don't worry, whoever did this we'll find them. If it's that masked criminal we'll catch him."
"No, I don't want to catch him; I want to kill him. You know, James, he was like a father to us."
"Yes, he was; don't worry, we'll solve this, I'm coming; just try to stay calm," he says and hangs up.
He was like a father; Alan was my father anyway. Haaa, whatever, I need to go there now there's nothing better I can do during these next five days.
James plans to head to the station; of course one thing is on his mind: he wants Kagemura's corpse in his hands just like Alan's.
