Chapter 7
"Get away from him!" My tone throbbed with fury as I slowly approached her.
What was her plan before I came in? Why does she have a frickin' pillow held in her hand?! What does she intend to do with it?!!!
I wanted to ask her the questions out loud, but not until she's faraway from my father.
She rolled her eyes at my reaction, "Oh relax. He was groaning and I thought he wasn't in a great position and could use a soft pillow placed behind his head." She stepped away from him whilst uttering her excuse.
"You seriously wasn't thinking that I'm about to suffocate him to death now are you?" She raised her brows at me.
"If you think that's what I had in mind then how far could it possibly be from the truth. I want you out of this room!" I told her once I've steadied my ground between her and my father.
She chuckled while staring me down with a funny look, "And who exactly do you think you are that you think you can just come in here today and start bossing me around? Need I remind you that you were presumed dead?" She scoffed, walking close as she came up to stand directly opposite me with her face inches away from mine.
"Know your place bitch, don't fucking make me put you in your place. And just Incase you've forgotten where your place, you're the forgotten daughter. The discarded one, the rejected heiress." She smirked at the conclusion of her words before she began to back away, and slowly turned her steps around to exit the room.
She's not a priority for me to handle right now. I whirled back around to lower myself beside my bedridden father.
I took his hand in mine as I shook it violently. "You better not die on me. You better not! Because I'm back, so you better keep fighting!" Tears threatened to spill down my eyes.

I couldn't contain my happiness, a dream I never thought would happen in a million years was coming to pass.
Samir wants me to marry him, and I just couldn't wait to share the news with my father.
I badged in on him working his life away on his computer. He pulled away once he noticed my presence so he could devote his full attention to me.
One of the best qualities about this man. He's the greatest father in the whole world.
"Dad Samir wants me to marry him!" I squealed the words out, grinning from ear to ear. I was too excited.
"Huh?" Dad's brows furrowed in confusion.
"Could you believe it? I was on my own when he just came up to me and was like, how would you like to be my wife for the next three years? He was so casual with the request, and looked so hot. Dad he was so fine and hot! He asked me to be his wife!!!!"
"I need you to slow down, pumpkin. What are you saying? Who is Samir? And why are you happy to be in a contract marriage with him?"
"Because I finally got a chance. I know it's a contract marriage, but I'm going to make him fall in love with me dad. By the time our contract expires, he'll be head over heels in love with me. Finally!"
"No!" Dad snapped at my excitement.
My happiness died down as I slowed my feelings to look at him. He had a look of disappointment and disapproval pasted over his face.
"No?"
"Yes no. You're not marrying that strange man you know nothing about. You have a whole life ahead of you and you're not going to destroy it because of your dreamy fairytales with whoever this Samir is. Can't believe you're this hyped over a contract marriage, a loveless marriage? Since when are you a fool?"
Dad's words jabbed straight at my heart. I thought he'd be happy for me, that he'd support my decision and not lash out the way he's currently lashing out at me.
"A fool? I'm a fool because I'm marrying the man I've been in love with most part of my life? The same man I went to high school and college with? And you think he's strange and I know nothing about him? My decision is final dad, I already agreed to become his wife. I just thought I'd share the good news with you and-"
"No!" He hollered as he stood up from his chair. "You listen and listen good to me Rahne Leticia Addams! You're going to meet back up with this Samir of a guy and call off your agreement, because it's either that or you're no longer a part of this family. I'm not going to sit down and watch you destroy your future. Never! I think I've pampered you too much for you to think smart for yourself. Cancel your agreement with him or forget you're an Addams!" Dad said to me, livid like I've never seen before.
He said nothing more and just stormed out of his office to go cool off.
Well fuck his wealth and his fortune. I'm going to prove to him that my decision isn't stupid and rather the right thing.
I'm going to marry Samir, make him love me, and after he's so deep in love with me. I'll introduce him to dad for the sole purpose of dad eating his own words of how I'm destroying my future.

The ambulance I called for arrived awhile back and I've finally gotten my dad admitted as well as under treatment.
The doctor in charge of his medication has went off to carry some tests on my father's blood so he could put a label on dad's sickness.
Even though I know it's not some fever like that hoe claimed it is, I still silently pray and wish it was indeed a mere fever.
The door opened and the doctor came in. My heart sank simply by the sour expression written all over his face. I could just tell he came bearing bad news.
"How bad is it?" I asked ahead of his words.
"Your father's condition is fatal. We notice traces of gelsemine in his blood, and after series of other tests. It was concluded that your father has been on a concentrated dose of gelsemium genus. It's poison from a plant." His response came at me.
I blinked. "What?" I think I heard wrong.
