Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Legends in the Village

Just like before, Lucas Kane took out 3 gold coins and exchanged them for cash, keeping the remaining 3 gold coins as backup.

After dealing with the equipment, Lucas Kane continued to hunt monsters.

The number of players outside the forest was increasing.

After reaching Level 3, Lucas Kane ventured into the deeper parts of the forest.

There were still Demonized Wild Dogs inside, but their level had risen to Level 3.

A Level 3 Demonized Wild Dog had an Attack of 9 points and 150 Health Points.

There were far fewer players here than outside.

Of course, this didn't mean there were only a few players in Silvermoon Village who had reached this level.

Because there were leveling areas in all 4 directions of the village, Level 3 monsters weren't exclusive to this forest.

The higher-level players were simply spread out.

Lucas Kane continued to slay monsters.

Items dropped by Level 3 monsters were still off-white.

He hadn't seen any green items since the last Wild Dog Leather Jacket.

Guess he'd just been lucky that time.

At that moment, Lucas Kane suddenly noticed 3 Demonized Wild Dogs gathered around a large tree — and there seemed to be a box hidden in the bushes beneath it.

Lucas Kane used Detection Technique.

--------------------------

[Old Wooden Box] — There seems to be something inside.

--------------------------

A treasure chest?

Lucas Kane's eyes lit up.

He soon realized the wooden box, like a monster, had a drop list.

That surprised him even more — because it meant he could specify the dropped items when opening it, just like killing monsters!

He quickly opened the drop list.

The first 6 items were all green, with some white and gray ones following.

Lucas Kane was stunned — six green items!

He immediately checked them one by one.

The drop list was clearly arranged by rarity — the rarer and more valuable the item, the higher its position.

The first one was a skill book.

----------------------------------------------------

[Basic Regeneration (Common Skill Book)] — Level: 1 Type: Passive Skill Effect: Restores 1 Health Point per second. Requirement: All Classes Drop Rate: 0.0001%

----------------------------------------------------

A universal passive skill?

Even though it only restored 1 HP per second, it worked during combat — meaning he'd always be regenerating!

Considering the average player only healed 1 HP per second outside combat, this was equivalent to constant regeneration.

It would save him tons of Health Potions.

Small skill, big value!

The second item was a stone.

------------------------------------------------------------

[Minor Attribute Stone (Strength) (Uncommon)] — Permanently increases Strength +1 after use. Drop Rate: 0.0009%

------------------------------------------------------------

Another great item!

Since player attributes carried over to reality, +1 Strength meant a real physical improvement.

The third item was a sword.

------------------------------------------------------------

[Training Greatsword (Uncommon)] — Attack +12

Strength +1 Required Level: 3 Drop Rate: 0.06%

------------------------------------------------------------

Another excellent piece!

12 Attack Points, nearly double that of the Level 3 White Greatsword he was using — plus +1 Strength.

The last 3 were pieces of equipment: a pair of Mail Bracers, a Cloth Robe, and Cloth Boots — all with attribute bonuses.

Lucas Kane was practically drooling over the loot.

Unfortunately, even though treasure chests had more drops, he could only specify 3 items.

After some hesitation, he chose:[Basic Regeneration], [Minor Attribute Stone (Strength)], and the [Training Greatsword.]

The first two offered permanent benefits, while the weapon would give him an immediate boost.

After confirming, Lucas Kane also set the drop designations for the 3 Demonized Wild Dogs, choosing all White Equipment.

Then, he charged forward with his sword.

It cost him 2 Healing Potions, but he managed to kill all 3 Demonized Wild Dogs.

He picked up the fallen items and eagerly opened the Old Wooden Box.

Three green light balls floated up, making his heart race.

Even with designated drops, this sight still thrilled him — so rare!

He quickly gathered them all into his bag.

Then he learned the Basic Regeneration skill, used the Minor Attribute Stone, and felt his Strength rise to 14 Points.

Finally, he equipped the Training Greatsword.

[Training Greatsword (Uncommon)] — Attack +12 Strength +1 Required Level: 3 Drop Rate: 0.06%

It looked far better than his old rusty blade — its polished edge gleamed with cold light.

After equipping it, his Attack Power soared to 27 Points.

Now, Level 3 Wild Dogs fell after just a few swings.

Before long, his backpack was full again.

The high drop rate was becoming a problem — he had to clean it often.

Even with 60 slots, it wasn't enough.

He filled it in just 30 minutes!

"If only there were bigger backpacks," Lucas Kane muttered.

He messaged Brian Wang and Victor Lark again.

When both heard that Lucas Kane had filled his pack with Level 3 equipment, they were stunned.

Brian Wang: "No way, Brother Kane! Your gear turnover's faster than ours! Only a few of our people even reached Level 3, and you've already got dozens of Level 3 items?!"

Victor Lark: "Brother, I just hit Level 3 myself. Your timing's perfect!"

Victor Lark, being wealthy, often paid players to grind with him — taking 80% of their experience for himself.

Even so, his leveling speed still lagged slightly behind Lucas Kane's.

Brian Wang: "Mr. Lark, same deal as last time — don't get greedy!"

Victor Lark: "Relax, am I that kind of person? Brother Kane, same deal as before?"

Lucas Kane: "Yeah. I'll send the location — just have your people come to me. I need to keep leveling, and running back wastes time."

Brian Wang: "No problem!"

Victor Lark: "Send it, I'll dispatch someone right away!"

Lucas Kane's growing efficiency and output made both men view him with even more respect.

Even if his requests grew, they'd still do everything possible to accommodate him.

Lucas Kane: "Alright, I'll send the coordinates. Gonna slay a few more monsters in the meantime."

He sent the message, then went back to work.

But since his bag was full, he couldn't pick up any drops — the battlefield was littered with white light balls floating above Demonized Wild Dog corpses.

Soon, a 5-person team arrived in the area.

When they saw the glowing field of corpses, they froze in disbelief.

"No way… are those all item drops?!"

"Holy crap, there's one on every corpse! Which god's farming here?!"

A young woman suddenly gasped. "Wait—I remember a legend in the village…"

"A legend?"

"Yeah! They say there's a player so strong that every monster he kills drops white loot. Just like this! I thought it was a rumor—but it's real?!"

Everyone stood there in awe, realizing they'd stumbled into the hunting grounds of a living legend.
