Kate Bishop stood at the gates of the castle, glancing around as she took in its mysterious atmosphere. She knew this was the residence of her teammate Billy Kaplan. Although she didn't know why the witch hadn't been staying at his New York mansion lately, that didn't really matter.

Right now, she only wanted to understand more about the so-called World Destroyer.

She gently knocked on the castle door. A moment later, it slowly opened, and Billy Kaplan appeared in the doorway. A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes—clearly, he hadn't expected Kate to show up.

"Hey, Kate. You're here. What's going on?" Billy asked with a smile.

"Yeah. Billy, I wanted to ask you something," Kate said bluntly. "How much do you know about the World Destroyer?"

Billy's expression turned serious. He let out a quiet sigh and gestured for her to come inside. Kate followed him into the spacious living hall, filled with arcane artifacts and ancient books. Old paintings lined the walls, radiating an air of forgotten power.

"The World Destroyers are extremely dangerous beings," Billy said in a low voice. "They exist across multiple universes. Their goal is to disrupt balance and plunge the multiverse into chaos. Our universe is no exception."

Kate frowned. What she heard only deepened her concern. She had heard from her father how vital cosmic balance was—once broken, the consequences would be catastrophic.

Billy continued, "They possess immense power and influence. They can interfere with the structure between universes, even tearing open spatial rifts. When that happens, information and energy from different universes collide, leading to unpredictable disasters. To preserve balance, we must stop them."

Kate's heart felt heavy. She knew this wouldn't be easy, but retreat was not an option. Gripping her bow tightly, she said with determination, "I understand. We have to stop them. Do you know their specific plan? I want to know more."

Billy nodded, his gaze steady. "Of course. Didn't I already send you some information about his appearance?"

"Yes," Kate nodded firmly, then added something that made Billy frown slightly. "He's strong. Tommy, Cassie, and Teddy were all injured by him."

"What about the enemy?" Billy asked cautiously.

"Based on what they said, he doesn't seem to be seriously hurt," Kate replied thoughtfully. "But he'll probably lie low for a while and carry out his plans in secret."

Billy smiled faintly, confidence returning to his face. "Don't worry. I already have a way to locate him. Once I'm ready, the Avengers will assemble and take down this so-called World Destroyer together."

Kate nodded. She could feel Billy's resolve—and it strengthened her own sense of responsibility as an Avenger. Fighting alongside her teammates to stop the World Destroyer and protect universal balance felt inevitable.

Billy Kaplan looked at Kate Bishop with trust and expectation in his eyes.

"Kate, we'll succeed. As long as we work together and trust each other, we can overcome anything. No matter what happens, we won't fight alone."

Kate smiled and nodded, encouraged by his words. As an Avenger, she knew they carried the responsibility of protecting the universe—and that unity and courage would see them through.

After seeing Kate off, Billy's expression darkened.

He stood by the castle window, staring into the distance, his heart filled with conflict and anxiety. The truth was, the so-called World Destroyer—Nathan Hawk—was a fabrication of his own making. Billy had invented him to mislead the Avengers, divert their attention, and further his own hidden agenda.

He sighed deeply. The plan was necessary, but the guilt weighed heavily on him. As an Avenger, he should have shared the truth—but for his own purposes, he had chosen deception.

Sitting back down, Billy felt torn inside. Just as he sank into thought, a sinister voice broke the silence.

"Well done, Billy. You guided the Avengers exactly where you wanted. Their attention is on Nathan Hawk, leaving you free to act behind the scenes."

Billy pressed his lips together. He recognized the voice immediately.

Karu—his dangerous accomplice.

"Yes, Karu. I know," Billy replied uneasily. "But promise me this is worth it. They're my friends. I don't want to hurt them."

"Don't worry," Karu said smoothly. "This is all for greater power. In the end, your friends will understand—it won't be in vain."

Billy's inner conflict deepened. He thought of his mother—her death had left an unhealed wound in his heart.

"Do you miss your mother, Billy?" Karu whispered. "Kill Nathan Hawk, and I'll let you see her again. Reunite with her. Your power will surpass anything you can imagine. The price is… small."

Billy closed his eyes, his thoughts in turmoil. His mother's loss was an eternal scar, and Karu's promise ignited a forbidden longing.

"But that means betraying my friends," Billy said, his voice trembling. "Lying to them. Maybe even hurting them. I don't know if I can do that."

"Think carefully," Karu said coldly. "Your mother is your eternal desire. The Avengers are only one chapter of your life. Your choice will decide both your future—and hers."

Billy stood at a crossroads, torn between friendship and longing, unable to choose.

"And besides," Karu added darkly, "you can't turn back now. Stephen Strange is already sealed within a spatial rift in this castle—trapped by your reality magic. Once Nathan Hawk is dead, the rift will stabilize, and you'll reunite with your mother."

Billy exhaled sharply. "You didn't touch Tommy, did you?"

Karu laughed. "Of course not. You're my partner. When I work with you, I don't work with your brother. Relax."

"Focus on mastering the remaining Darkhold," Karu continued. "I sense a battle coming between you and Nathan Hawk. The necromancy within that book, combined with your magic, will create something entirely new."

"At that point, no one will be able to stop you. Not even Iron Man."

Billy ignored Karu's hollow promises. A sense of dread crept over him—a warning instinct he had developed after mastering true magic.

"Someone's coming," Karu suddenly said—and then his voice vanished.

Billy heard it too.

The sound of Kang approaching in nano-armor.

Billy's heart clenched. Kang's arrival meant the Avengers had likely uncovered something. He felt the pressure closing in.

In the castle's living hall, Billy quickly composed himself. Kang's nano-armor descended softly, the helmet retracting to reveal a face filled with concern.

Billy stood to greet him, hiding his unease.

"Kang," Kang said, studying him carefully. "We heard some things from the others about the World Destroyer. But you've been acting… strange. Is there something you haven't told us?"

Billy shook his head calmly and smiled. "I know everyone's worried. I am too. I've just been researching some information, so I may seem distracted."

Kang frowned, unconvinced—but didn't press further.

At that moment, Wong used the coordinates Kang had provided to open a portal into the room. Nathan Hawk stepped through with him.

Billy frowned the moment Nathan appeared.

This was it.

The decisive moment had arrived.

His gaze hardened. Drawing a deep breath, Billy raised his hand and traced a glowing rune in the air, quietly chanting an incantation.
