Avengers Tower.Medical Wing.
"How are their injuries?" Kate Bishop asked. She was the second-generation member of the Hawkeye team.
Kang gestured for Kate to follow him as they stepped into the treatment room. His gaze swept over Ant-Girl Cassie, the green-skinned young Hulk Teddy, and Speedster Tommy. His brow furrowed slightly, his mood heavy. They were all superheroes, yet when faced with that strange so-called World Destroyer, they still seemed painfully outmatched.
Arc-burn marks scarred Cassie's shoulder. Though her breathing was steady, it was clear the attack had taken a toll. Teddy bore visible wounds as well, struggling to regulate his breathing and regain his strength. Tommy lay on the bed, his body twitching faintly—still affected by Nathan Hawk's powerful electric strike.
Kang took a deep breath. As the leader, he knew it was time to speak.
"Everyone, don't worry too much. After the series of attacks we launched, the enemy won't pose an immediate threat. Cassie, Teddy, Tommy—you need to rest and recover. We'll do everything we can to help you heal as quickly as possible."
Cassie nodded slightly. Despite her injuries, her eyes burned with resolve."That's right. We can't be defeated. We're the Avengers. It's our responsibility to protect this world."
Teddy clenched his fists and grit his teeth."Don't worry, Kang. I'll recover fast. I won't let that destroyer look down on us."
Tommy gave a bitter smile. His voice was weak, yet firm."Yeah. He beat us this time—but that doesn't mean he'll always win. We fight for ourselves, and for this world."
Kang nodded, feeling the determination radiating from his teammates. He walked over to Tommy's bedside and gently patted his shoulder."Get some rest, Tommy. Once you're better, we'll plan our next move."
Watching quietly nearby, Kate Bishop asked,"After fighting him firsthand, what do you think? How strong is he, really?"
Noticing her curiosity, Kang turned toward Cassie, Teddy, and Tommy. The three exchanged glances before Tommy spoke first.
Tommy frowned slightly, recalling the battle against the opponent known as the World Destroyer.
"His abilities are terrifying. He can control and release electricity—and he's insanely fast. I thought I could take him down quickly, but his control over electrical energy is unreal. I could feel his power tracking my movements. Even at supersonic speed, I couldn't fully escape. The shock came without warning. I didn't even have time to react."
Cassie nodded and added,"His electricity seems to penetrate objects. When he hit me, it felt like the current passed straight through my body—it was incredibly painful. He can sense our abilities and movements almost instantly. Our armor barely blocked his attacks."
Teddy frowned as well."He can even shape electricity into weapons. I saw him form a sword. And his defenses are strong—our attacks barely hurt him."
Teddy clenched his fists, eyes firm."But we can't back down. We need to find a way to counter him, to use our strengths together. If we fight as a team, we might still have a chance."
Kang listened carefully, the picture becoming clearer. He turned to Kate."We need to learn more—his abilities, his weaknesses. We'll analyze battle footage and data. At the same time, we'll intensify Cassie, Teddy, and Tommy's training so they can adapt faster."
Kate nodded."Agreed. Understanding the enemy is key. I'll talk to Wiccan—see if he sensed anything."
Kang smiled faintly."Then I'll leave it to you."
On the rooftop of Avengers Tower, Kang stood against the wind, overlooking the city.
Doubt and confusion surged once more. He didn't know the World Destroyer's true name—but he knew that understanding him was the only way to stop him.
His voice carried into the night:
"You—the one called the World Destroyer. I know you're watching us. Why are you doing this? What's your goal? Is there truly no other way?"
Only silence answered him.
Kang sighed. Though no response came, he was certain the destroyer had heard him. He refused to give up. Perhaps this exchange would offer clues—some insight into the man's motives.
"I know you're powerful. But you also know why we fight—to protect this world, to defend life. If there's conflict or misunderstanding, we can talk. We are not your enemies. Maybe we can find common ground."
His words were filled with sincerity and hope.
Still, there was no reply.
Kang understood then—this wouldn't be a simple conversation. It would be a clash of power and will. A decisive confrontation.
He waited.
"Hahahaha—Conqueror Kang, speaking with such righteousness?"
A figure shimmered into view. Nathan Hawk stood there, smiling faintly.
Kang stared in surprise."Are you from the future too? Do you know me?"
Nathan stretched casually."Should I call you Iron Lad… or Conqueror Kang?"
Kang chuckled."Iron Lad. I like that one."
"So Iron Man's your idol?" Nathan teased.
"Maybe," Kang replied, not entirely confident. Yet inwardly, he felt something was off—this Nathan Hawk didn't feel like the World Destroyer at all.
Strange.
There was no hunger for conquest, no thirst for slaughter or domination in his gaze. Kang stayed alert nonetheless, silently activating his nanotech armor.
"Tell me," Nathan said calmly, "why was I attacked the moment I appeared? And why were you so alert to my arrival?"
Kang remained silent, analyzing every word. Was Hawk pretending to be harmless—or was he truly not their enemy? One thing was certain: this man had crossed into their world.
"Why did you come here?" Kang asked directly.
The nanotech armor hummed softly.
Nathan didn't seem bothered. He knew this was the Young Avengers' world—and that Kang, Iron Lad, was someone he could trust.
"You know about the multiverse, right?" Nathan asked.
"I do," Kang replied, intrigued.
Nathan then explained the spatial rifts and their consequences.
After hearing everything, Kang sighed, frowning.
"For now, I'll believe you," he said, watching Nathan closely.
"That's not important," Nathan replied. "What I want to know is—why that name? And why did you find me? Does someone on your team know me?"
Kang hesitated, debating whether to mention magic. In the end, he chose honesty.
"We have a teammate named Wiccan. He has a special ability—he can sense changes and threats. That may be how we discovered you."
Nathan raised an eyebrow, surprised. Then he smiled."I see. Seems you're well prepared."
Kang nodded as his nanotech armor powered down. He hoped this openness would show they meant no harm.
"Honestly," Nathan said, thoughtful, "something feels off. I think the witch is hiding something."
Kang's expression hardened. He felt it too—someone between Nathan Hawk and Wiccan had lied.
"Nathan Hawk," Kang said firmly, "answer me honestly."
Nathan looked at him, curious.
"Do you have any connection to Wiccan? And why can you enter our world—while he seemed to know about you, your identity, and your power long before we met?"
