Chapter 53 - Chapter 53 Lizzy Bar

The night in Kabukicho felt unusually eerie. The dim neon lights cast strange shadows along the narrow alleys. Few people walked the streets—only a few suspicious figures sneaking about in the dark.

Nathan Hawke and his team moved silently through the cramped streets, keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings. This was the poorest and most dangerous part of Night City, crawling with criminals and outlaws. But to them, danger was nothing new—they were used to it.

From deep within the alleys came faint music and murmurs, as if business was being conducted somewhere nearby. Beneath the neon glow, shop windows displayed all kinds of goods while a few vendors called out to passing pedestrians.

Wesker's sharp eyes never relaxed. Suddenly, he stopped and motioned for the others to halt.

"Someone's following us," he said quietly.

A figure lunged from the shadows, knife in hand. Wesker reacted instantly, dodging the strike and kicking the attacker away with ease.

The assailant was a ragged young man with wild, frenzied eyes full of desperate madness.

"Hand over your money!" he shouted, charging again.

Wesker didn't hold back this time—his fist smashed into the man's face, knocking him out cold. But even then, the man didn't give up; he staggered to his feet, eyes bloodshot, and attacked once more. In the scuffle, Wesker noticed the man's body was covered in crude cybernetic implants—roughly built and barely functioning.

Boom!

The man finally collapsed, unconscious.

"I was hoping we could find a decent place to rest," Nathan said with a snap of his fingers, "but I guess we'll make do with that abandoned house in Kabukicho tonight."

"I want to buy a few things for research," said the combat android, Lingma.

"Fine."

After picking up some strange gadgets, the group found a relatively clean abandoned house. No one knew what happened to the previous owner.

Meeting.

Nathan spoke first. "We've got only one week. Our goal is simple—extract as much technology as possible from this world."

"This city's tech falls into four main categories: smart infrastructure, AI, bioengineering, and virtual reality. In Night City, we're targeting two corporations: Militech and Arasaka. Our focus is Militech."

"That's where the tech we need is located—specifically, the military tech division downtown."

"First, we need intel. Since we're already in Kabukicho, Electro, come with me to Lizzie's Bar. We'll talk to the Mox gang."

Lingma stayed behind to study her new gadgets, while Wesker and Nathan let her be.

Late at night, Lizzie's Bar glowed faintly in the neon haze—a radiant jewel in the darkness. This was Mox territory, full of colorful characters that kept Night City's nerves on edge.

Nathan and Electro walked down the narrow street, passing addicts and scantily clad strangers. In Night City, such sights were normal.

"This city is insane," Nathan muttered.

Electro nodded. He'd seen it all before. Chaos was everywhere here—and within that chaos, they needed to find the right clues.

As they walked, a provocatively dressed Mox girl approached, her eyes gleaming with seductive intent.

"Hey, handsome. Wanna have a little fun?" she purred, smiling at Nathan.

Nathan gave her a cold glance and ignored her. He knew these girls often doubled as Mox informants—distractions weren't worth the risk.

"We're just here for information," Electro said flatly.

The woman wasn't discouraged. Turning to Electro, she gave him a sultry smile. "How about you, hotshot? I've got some toys you'd love."

Electro ignored her too, continuing forward.

They reached the door of Lizzie's Bar. Nathan pushed it open, and the smell of smoke and alcohol washed over them.

Inside, the place was dark and loud. People of all kinds filled the room—each one a mystery, each one dangerous.

The two men sat in a quiet corner, observing. Mox members and shady figures were scattered throughout. Electro scanned the room, his body charged and ready to strike at any moment. Nathan watched everyone carefully, searching for clues in their gestures and words.

A flirtatious woman soon approached, her gaze playful.

"Welcome to Lizzie's, handsome," she said in a husky voice. "First time here? Let me show you what makes this place special."

"We're looking for information," Nathan said bluntly.

She smirked, twirling her hair. "Information isn't free, sweetie. But… if you stay and play with me for a bit, maybe I'll share something."

Nathan's eyes narrowed—he knew the game.

"We're only interested in military tech," Electro replied calmly.

Her eyes flickered, but she kept smiling. "Military tech, huh? Interesting taste."

"We're just curious," Nathan said evenly.

She looked them over, thinking. Then she nodded. "Alright. I can give you something. But it'll cost you."

"What do you want?" Electro asked.

Her lips curled into a teasing grin. "Make me happy, and I'll talk."

Nathan's expression stayed cold—he wasn't playing along.

In a dim private booth, another woman sat elegantly on a sofa, eyes glimmering with amusement as she watched them.

"Suzy Q will be here soon," she said in a low, sultry tone. "But until then, you could keep me company."

"We just want intel," Electro repeated.

She chuckled softly. "Of course. But in Night City, information always comes with a price."

Time passed before the booth door opened again. A mature woman stepped in, wearing a deep red bodysuit that hugged every curve. Her gaze was sharp yet alluring, her smile unreadable.

"You came to talk business?" she asked smoothly.

"Yes," Nathan replied.

Suzy Q sat down gracefully. "I hear you're interested in military tech. Why?"

"We're just curious," Electro answered.

Her lips curved into a knowing smirk. "Curiosity can be dangerous—especially here in Night City."

As she spoke, the door suddenly shut, locking from the outside.

Nathan and Electro remained calm.

Suzy Q's smile deepened. "Fine then—I'll tell you what you want."

"Rumor has it a vicious beast wiped out one of the Maelstrom gang's territories. They're offering a bounty for whoever takes it down."

Nathan nodded at Electro.

Zzzzz… BOOM!

A surge of lightning erupted from Electro, blasting the locked door off its hinges.

Suzy Q and the others gasped in terror—they hadn't expected such power.

Nathan's eyes were icy cold. "We're not here for games. We want military tech intel. That's all."

Realizing resistance was pointless, Suzy Q's attitude shifted instantly. She forced a smile.

"Impressive. I underestimated you. Very well, gentlemen—let's talk business properly."

She led them to her private office.
