Chapter 30 - May This Princess Glimpse the Secret of This Artifact?—The Obedient Fischl

Hearing Kairo's words, Fischl's body froze, as if struck by an immobilizing spell. Her violet eyes widened slightly, as though she were seriously contemplating his question.

After a moment, she let out a soft "hmph," lifted her chin in haughty pride, and her golden twin-tails swayed with the motion. Her violet dress fluttered gently in the forest breeze.

"I am the Prinzessin der Verurteilung!

The might of thunder bends to my command! Our fates are already intertwined, and the script of destiny is engraved upon the dark firmament!

Such claws of darkness—how could they escape the judgment of this Prinzessin?"

Her voice rang with conviction, filled with unshakable confidence, as if she could already see the blazing Hilichurl Berserker turned to ashes beneath her Electro-charged arrows.

But when she met Kairo's calm, unwavering gaze, a subtle change flickered across her expression.

Kairo said nothing—he simply watched. Fischl's eyes darted aside for a moment. The corner of her lips twitched, and she turned her head slightly away, her voice softening.

"...However, that creature's flames burn with great intensity. Though thunder restrains fire, I may not be able to quell it with a single shot..."

"Of course, this Prinzessin excels in reconnaissance, not in the art of slaying. Were it otherwise—hmph—your foes would already be dust upon the wind."

Oz sighed and translated, "My lady means—she can try, but probably won't succeed."

Kairo stared at Fischl wordlessly. Despite her grand declarations, which sounded powerful enough to shake the heavens, the truth was clear: she knew she couldn't actually do it.

Rubbing his brow, Kairo sighed helplessly. As expected, it was best not to place too much hope in this girl.

"Alright, no problem."

If Fischl's Electro powers couldn't directly suppress the fiery Hilichurl Berserker, perhaps another approach would work. A faint glimmer passed through Kairo's eyes. After a moment, he raised his hand slightly.

In an instant, a peculiar object marked with a frosty sigil appeared in his palm—the Enhancement Balm: Ice he had obtained earlier.

Whoosh!

The blue-white tube materialized in his grasp, its casing a cool shade of icy azure. Etched upon it was a complex frost insignia, faintly radiating a chill that carried a pure Cryo aura.

Fischl and Oz were drawn to it immediately. Just moments ago, Fischl had been lamenting her lack of explosives. Now, seeing Kairo conjure an unknown item out of nowhere, her golden eyes sparkled with curiosity as she leaned closer.

Strange… Kairo didn't seem to have any alchemical storage artifacts.

"The object in thy hand… it teems with the might of glacial frost. From whence hast thou acquired such a Relic?"

Oz translated bluntly, "My lady means—what is that, and how did you take it out?"

Kairo glanced at her but said nothing immediately. Instead, he examined the Enhancement Balm carefully, pressing the tube lightly with his thumb. The surface was slightly elastic, and the faint energy it emitted confirmed it—this was a genuine enhancement material imbued with the power of Fate.

"This is called Enhancement Balm: Ice," Kairo said casually, as though discussing an ordinary tool.

To Fischl, the name only made her eyes light up further. She blinked and reached out eagerly.

"May this Prinzessin glimpse the secret of this artifact?"

Just as her hand was about to touch it, Kairo lifted the tube slightly, avoiding her grasp. Her hand froze midair. Her expression stiffened.

"...?"

She blinked in surprise, then straightened her posture, lips twitching as a faint blush colored her cheeks. She forced herself to sound dignified.

"Hmph! This Prinzessin merely wished to conduct an investigation, not because she covets the possessions of mortals."

Oz coughed and translated, "My lady means—she's just curious, not greedy."

Kairo's lips twitched. There was really no saving her stubborn pride. Deciding not to argue, he turned his attention back to the tube.

The reason he had brought it out was simple: he wanted to test it. This paste was created by blending materials infused with the power of Fate into a specialized compound. Applied to the right weapon, it granted powerful enhancement effects.

If he combined it with Clara's skill, 'I Want to Help Too!', and had Fischl fire an arrow, it would create perfect synergy.

Ordinary Pyro enemies could be countered by Electro. But the Hilichurl Berserker's flames burned far too intensely. Mere Electro might not suppress them—worse, the resonance of fire and Electro could make things even more dangerous.

However, if the Enhancement Balm were used instead… could it freeze those fiery creatures solid? The power of Fate would certainly overwhelm elemental energy. And this was an Ice-type enhancement paste. In the world of Star Rail, the Ice element could cause Freeze effects.

As the idea took shape, Kairo's eyes glimmered faintly. He raised his head toward Fischl, a slight smile curving his lips.

"Do you want to see what this thing can do?"

Fischl blinked, her eyes shimmering with anticipation.

"This Prinzessin would, of course, not object to witnessing a baptism of frost."

Oz calmly translated, "My lady says—she's in."

Kairo nodded. "Take out your bow."

Without hesitation, Fischl unstrapped her bow from her back. Though she wielded the Electro Vision and often fought alongside Oz, her archery skills were impressive. Even without fully understanding Kairo's intent, she obediently followed his instructions.

Kairo inspected the bow—a sleek weapon of black and violet, light yet durable, its body carved with intricate Electro runes that pulsed faintly with purple light. As a Vision holder and user of Electro, this was clearly an elemental weapon capable of channeling her power.

Crimson Echo.

The moment Kairo's fingers moved, his inner energy surged. He called upon Clara's Path power, channeling it into Fischl's bow.

Whoosh!

A strange, potent aura of destruction burst forth. Fischl's pupils contracted sharply. She could clearly see her bow undergoing a mysterious transformation—the runes of Electro flared brightly, and faint crimson lines began to interlace with the purple Electro, fusing into a new, overwhelming presence.

This aura was more violent—more pure—than any Electro energy she could summon herself. And within it… lurked the faint, suffocating pressure of destruction itself.
