In an instant, the Adventurers' Guild hall erupted into chaos.
Normally, collecting Philanemo Mushrooms was anything but easy.
Many adventurers could spend entire days combing the outskirts of Mondstadt and still only find a handful.
But now—
The sight before them looked as though someone had uprooted an entire Philanemo Mushroom resource point and dumped it right here!
Even a few seasoned adventurers couldn't help but cast suspicious, curious glances, edging closer for a better look.
"Young man, where on earth did you find so many of these?"
A light-armored adventurer couldn't help but ask, unable to hide the shock and envy in his tone. "Don't tell me you discovered a brand-new Philanemo Mushroom cluster?"
"This amount is insane! I just scoured the whole Windrise area yesterday and barely found a few!" another exclaimed.
"Wait—he's got ores and other local specialties too…"
"Just how far did this guy run last night? This is ridiculous!"
…
Everyone was talking at once, eyes full of envy and awe.
Kairo simply smiled faintly, offering no explanation.
Even he hadn't expected his Bio-Wave Scanner to pinpoint so many Philanemo Mushrooms right within Mondstadt itself.
Mondstadt was vast—
So vast that some of its resource spots were deeply hidden, almost impossible to find without special means.
Katheryne finally came back to her senses, her gaze on Kairo turning subtly complicated.
It wasn't that she doubted his ability—after all, many veteran adventurers in the Guild had their own unique gathering methods—but…
To bring back this much in one trip? That was still unheard of!
Taking a steadying breath, she regained her composure and began expertly tallying up the value of the materials.
"Philanemo Mushrooms… quality is excellent."
Katheryne picked up one of the mushrooms, inspecting it closely. Her fingers brushed over the cap as she nodded slightly. "Moist and unweathered—freshly picked. The market price can be adjusted upward accordingly."
She then examined the Dandelion Seed and other items before quickly reaching a conclusion.
"All of these together can be exchanged for…"
"—one hundred ninety-eight thousand Mora."
Closing her ledger, Katheryne smiled politely. "If you wish to exchange part of it for Guild contribution points, I can add a small bonus as well."
One hundred ninety-eight thousand Mora?!
At that figure, the surrounding adventurers collectively sucked in a breath.
"Almost two hundred thousand! That's more than we'd make from dozens of low-level commissions combined!"
"So this is what real adventuring is about—not monster slaying, but treasure hunting?"
"Now I get it… Gathering regional specialties is the true path!"
…
Many faces filled with envy.
Some even began silently plotting to try gathering Philanemo Mushrooms themselves next time.
Yet everyone knew deep down—
To find this many resources in such a short time, even a veteran couldn't pull it off easily.
"Mm… Mora is fine."
Kairo thought for a moment before nodding. "Guild points aren't much use to me right now. Mora's more practical."
Katheryne didn't question him further. She quickly handed over the Mora and recorded the resource exchange in the Guild log.
"Transaction complete. Thank you for your contribution. I wish you safe travels, adventurer."
Her tone was as gentle and courteous as always.
Kairo pocketed the Mora with a small nod.
The Adventurers' Guild was ever efficient—
Whether it was commission handling, intelligence exchange, or resource trading, its operations were remarkably streamlined.
"Oh, right—I'd also like to commission a sword."
After a moment's thought, Kairo spoke again. Katheryne nodded, attentive. "Please describe your specifications."
"First, it should be a one-handed sword. Not a heavy iron slab, but something that balances strength and agility."
Katheryne nodded again, signaling for him to continue.
"The blade's base material should at least be high-grade Magical Crystal Ore. Ideally, it should also be infused with materials possessing strong elemental resonance—Amethyst Lump, Enhancement Ore, even rare elemental minerals if possible."
Tapping the counter lightly, Kairo went on, "The blade must also be highly durable. I don't want it cracking after just a few battles like some ordinary forged swords. It needs to withstand high-intensity combat."
At that, Katheryne froze slightly, hesitating. "You mean… you want the sword to channel more elemental energy?"
That was the sort of requirement only a Vision bearer would make.
Ordinary adventurers rarely needed anything beyond a decent forged blade.
Materials like Magical Crystal Ore and elemental minerals were used for crafting elemental weapons—
beneficial to those with Visions, but almost useless for the average fighter.
Kairo nodded. "Not just a channel—it has to withstand it, without fracturing under short bursts of energy."
"If possible," he added, "it should also have some degree of energy conductivity."
Katheryne took notes carefully, her brow furrowing in thought.
"High durability, suitable for intense combat, capable of carrying elemental energy—essentially, a sword with elemental conductivity. Your standards are quite high."
Smiling faintly, she continued, "A normal blacksmith wouldn't be able to forge something like this. It would require a master-level smith at the very least."
"I've noted your request."
Pausing for a moment, she said thoughtfully, "In that case, I'll contact Wagner, Mondstadt's finest blacksmith, on behalf of the Guild. He's recognized by the entire Adventurers' Guild as a master craftsman."
"If anyone can create the weapon you're describing, it's him."
Kairo nodded. "Then I'll trouble you with that."
He could have gone to Wagner directly, of course—but then he'd have to queue and make a formal appointment, which was a hassle.
Having the Adventurers' Guild act as intermediary was far simpler.
Katheryne smiled. "It's no trouble at all. Providing the best possible service to adventurers is part of the Guild's duty."
"However, I'll need a deposit of 100,000 Mora."
"And just to be clear," she added kindly, "if this weapon truly meets your specifications, 200,000 Mora may not cover the final cost."
Kairo nodded. "Price isn't an issue."
With the Bio-Wave Scanner in hand, Mora was the least of his worries.
It was only a matter of time.
The sword, however, wouldn't be completed anytime soon.
In the meantime, he could use the scanner to locate all kinds of minerals outside the city.
"Also, I'd like to review the available commissions around Mondstadt's outskirts."
Katheryne nodded and began searching the Guild's records for him.
"My loyal subject—seeing you in such haste, I can only assume those vile forces once again seek to disturb Mondstadt's peace!"
A clear, melodious voice suddenly echoed through the hall, cutting through the chatter like a bell.
Instantly, the entire Adventurers' Guild fell silent.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned toward the sound in unison.
For a brief, strange moment—
the whole hall was utterly still.
