"The drive was quiet.""So why don't you buy a car?" he asked."I don't know," I said. "I'm only seventeen. When I turn eighteen, I'll buy a BMW — it's my dream car."He nodded."What about you? What are you buying?" he asked."I don't know maybe clothes, shoes, or accessories," I answered.
We arrived at the mall, but it was so crowded that there wasn't even space for ants to walk. The air was thick with different smells and voices — it was annoying. I felt suffocated, but then Kevin noticed me and grabbed my hand. His grip tightened, but it didn't hurt. Instead, it gave me comfort.
We entered a store that was nearly empty. Luxurious dresses hung everywhere, and the moment I saw one a white chiffon dress sparkling with crystals I fell in love.
"Excuse me, ma'am, what's the price of this dress?" I asked."Oh, this rare milk chiffon dress with shining white crystals costs 90,500 pesos," she said."Oh, so I began, but she interrupted me."Are you going to buy it?" she asked, eyeing me suspiciously."Yes. Why?" I replied."It's just…" she muttered, giving me a forced smile, clearly thinking I couldn't afford it."Umm, ma'am, we also have a discount," she added."No need. I'll pay every penny for this dress," I said firmly."Okay, ma'am. What's your name?""Mark Kate Ryder."She looked shocked, and I smirked."Good afternoon, ma'am," she said, bowing slightly."No need to bow," I said softly. "It feels disrespectful. I don't forget my manners.""Would you like to see our other collection?" she asked."Yes, sure," I said.
She showed me more of their collection."Ma'am, these are Jasper's old unique designs. There's only one copy of each.""Amazing. What's the price?" I asked."It's two million pesos," she said."Two million?" I was, shocked."Yes, but since Mr. Ryder has shares in our company and you're his first buyer, we'll give you a discount one million and thirty thousand pesos.""Umm…" I hesitated. "I brought my brother's card, so I can't spend that much. But when I turn eighteen, I'll buy it. Please save this dress for me."
It was a royal red gown with crystals breathtaking. I hoped I could buy it one day.
At the cashier, Kevin followed me."Good afternoon, Mrs. Ryder," the cashier greeted."Good afternoon," I replied sweetly."Oh, Mrs. Finch! Good afternoon," Kevin said."You know her?" I asked."Yeah, Mrs. Ashi and Mrs. Finch used to come here," he said, and I nodded.
We finished shopping, but I saw a pair of heels. I didn't like heels, but they matched my outfit so I bought them anyway.
When we got outside, it was already dark."Let's have dinner together," I told Kevin.We went to a restaurant."Have you ever celebrated a grand birthday?" he asked."Nah, just me and my brother, Kalix. Small celebration," I said.
Kevin's POV
After dinner, Kate got drunk. She was acting like a three-year-old, and I couldn't stop smiling at her childish behavior."You know who shines a lot?" she slurred."Who?" I asked, amused."In my eyes… you shine the most," she said, hugging me.
"I have a question," I said."What?""Do you have a crush on someone?"She looked at me. "No. I hate loving people.""What about your type?""I don't have one. No one loves me except my brother Kalix," she said."Brother Kalix?" I asked. "Wasn't he rude to you?"She nodded, tears forming. "I used to cry every day because he never loved me. Even today, he made me cry. But then you made me feel better."
"Let's go," I said, starting to walk."Hey, wait!" she shouted.I turned."Can you please carry me to the car?"I couldn't say no. I carried her, took the car keys from her bag, and started driving.
"Hubby, give me a kiss," she said."Stop it.""Hubby!" she giggled, grabbing my chin. "Just one kiss!""Stop it, let me focus!" I raised my voice.She started crying. "Hubby doesn't want to kiss me…""Okay, fine." I sighed, kissed her cheek, and she blushed deeply."Thank you, hubby," she whispered.

When we arrived home, she was acting silly. I couldn't stop laughing."Let's get inside," I said, holding her hand.As we walked, she tapped my shoulder."What?" I asked, turning."Mind if I…" she trailed off, then grabbed my neck and kissed me.
I froze she'd never kissed anyone before, and I was her first. She looked shocked and ran away, but tripped. I quickly picked her up, carried her to her room, and went to mine.
