"Soren, didn't you just tell me to disappear?" I stared at Soren with cold amusement, watching his face turn thunderous in an instant.
The entire private dining room plunged into deadly silence.
Miranda, still reeling from Mack's harsh slap, had finally stopped her pathetic sobbing. Yet her eyes burned with pure venom, as if she wanted to tear me apart with her bare hands.
Diana sat primly beside Soren, her delicate features twisted into an expression of wounded innocence. Wounded? Please. I had already given them plenty of space to play their little games.
Diana rose gracefully, her fingers barely grazing Soren's sleeve in a gesture so calculated it made my stomach turn. "Miss Mathews, Soren must have spoken out of turn earlier. Please, won't you sit with us? It's been so difficult for me to manage an outing like this."
