"Uhh, I don't think so? Do you want to have a problem with me?" He could escape from her grasp, but He liked the feeling of her boobs pressing against his body, so it was welcomed.
"You and that smart mouth. Trust me, you don't want to get on my bad side. Know your place and stay in your lane."
"Is this all you called me out here for?" Honestly, if this were all she had to say, Jin wouldn't have wasted his time following her. The boobs were great, though.
"Heh, keep at it, and I'll ruin you and what's left of your family."
Now she took things too far. Jin's bloodlust activated on instinct when Addison mentioned his dead parents.
Growing up as an orphan in his original world, Jin cherished his family in every life he lived. He always clung to family, and he loved and admired family more than anything.
What he would not allow was someone disrespecting his loved one. He had already killed many people who disrespected his family once; what's one more to that list?
Jin sighed, calming himself. "Listen, I know you didn't mean it—don't project your hard life onto me. If you want to be the best, do it without dragging me into this shit. And don't ever talk about my family like that again, or you'll regret it."
He slapped her hand out of the way and walked off. Angela was waiting for him around the corner and gave him a nice hug, stuffing his face between her large tits.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Angela didn't hear Jin's response since his voice was muffled by her chest.
"I'll walk you back to your room."
After arriving in his room, Jin sat cross-legged on his bed and began to meditate, drawing mana into his body to strengthen himself. Mana existed everywhere in the universe—an invisible, mysterious form of matter that couldn't be seen or measured, as it emitted no light, sound, or detectable energy.
Scientists in many worlds, including this world he was currently in, call this energy Dark Matter. But to Jin, it was simply mana. Mana can only be detected by something or someone that has mana.
'Phew. I'm getting stronger by the day. I should be able to reach the 3rd circle if I continue all night.'
In the many worlds Jin had been to, there were countless ways to measure power. Some had crazy and unique names, while others were so simple that they didn't even make any sense.
Jin liked the Star, or Circle, way of measuring strength. In some of the 'fantasy' worlds he had been to, martial artists measured their strength by stars, while mages did so by circles. They meant the same thing but were applied differently.
He liked that better than saying he was in the Qi Refining stage.
As for the power ranking in this world, it was pretty vague. Instead of rankings, there were classifications. The classification didn't mean you were the strongest or weakest; it simply meant your ability had that certain amount of potential.
The first tier is called Primal. Powers in this tier simply enhance the body, such as super strength, speed, perception, enhanced mental capacity, and even flight, but only the ability to fly, not having an ability that can make you fly, like wind or telekinesis.
After that was the Meta Tier. Powers in these tiers altered the physical state of a body, like heat vision, or any vision ability, phasing, teleportation, sonic screams, and so on. Oculia is in this tier.
The next tier was called Arcane. Powers in this tier can alter the environment or come from it, like elemental powers and all of the Kinetic and Pathic powers, such as telekinesis or technopathy. Brittany is in this tier.
The second-to-last tier was Ascendant. These powers sit on the edge of the laws of physics. Gravity, energy projection and absorption, the control over particles, and so on. Addison and Angela were in this tier.
The final tier is called Transcendent. Powers in this tier break the laws of physics and can even alter the state of the universe if they were strong enough. Time, destruction, creation, and abilities that were metaphysical were in this tier. Mrs Horton stood in this tier.
There is some overlap, and sometimes, a person in a 'lower' tier can be stronger than someone in a 'higher' tier. It all depends on how much of a person's potential has been tapped into. The same applies to people in the same tier.
'If I had to give myself a tier, I'd be in the Arcane tier as of this moment. But even then, that doesn't mean I'm as strong as the best in that tier. I have to be prepared for the possibility of being found out, so I can protect myself if that day comes.'
For the rest of the evening and night, Jin meditated, absorbing more and more mana until he was at the third circle, or star. Even after feaching that state, he continued to meditate until it was time for the third and final test.
---
A blaring alarm jolted Jin back to reality. His eyes snapped open to find himself suspended above his bed, sheets drifting lazily around him. He'd been meditating all night without realizing it.
"Thank god no one came into my room last night, otherwise explaining to them why I was suddenly floating would be awkward."
Jin got ready, prepared his power kit, then exited his room, only to be swarmed by dozens of girls.
"Argh! What the hell is this?! I love girls with muscles on girls as much as the next guy, but this is too much!"
"Jin, please join me!"
"No, pick me! We'll make a great team!"
"W-We worked together before, when we fought the dragon. Pick me!"
"No! Don't pick her, you'll lose with her. Pick me!"
Jin had no idea what was going on and wanted to leave immediately. He didn't like his personal space being invaded, but couldn't teleport away without exposing himself.
"Alright, move it, people! I don't know why any of you would want to work with him anyway. Do you want to lose?" Angelia appeared, and Jin couldn't be more thankful for her talking shit about him.
"Angelia, we get that you don't like Jin, but he's passed both tests with perfect scores. You even benefited from him after forcing him to work with you in the last test. We won't let this opportunity pass."
Jin understood that the final test was going to have some sort of team element to it based on the girls' statements. There was a board that said what the next test would be on the first floor, but Jin didn't care to look at it since he would know what it would be once the test started.
"Jin, you will be my partner."
Everyone was shocked to see Addison arrive and demand that Jin work with her. Then again, that was her personality.
"Why me?"
