Mark was surrounded by 30 Mabeasts. Some of them were dogs, lions with wings, or giant bats. But there was one Mabeast that stood out. It was a fifty-foot tall mammoth with dark fur and four tusks.
Just then the monstrous mammoth tried to pin Mark down with its weight, but he simply grabbed his legs, which couldn't pin him down. Mark pushed the monster away from him and then, lifted into the air with him.
"Just keep standing there, you fat elephant." Mark said, approaching him.
The provoked elephant roared loudly and charged, hitting Mark with its trunk. Of course, due to his slow movements, he did not pose a threat to the young people who avoided his attacks.
The other Mabeasts joined the fight. The flying lions took to the air at the same height as Mark. One of the lions bit him on the hand, but still failed to bite through his skin. Mark quickly got out of the lion's bite, grabbed him by the large head and then threw him at high speed at another lion that wanted to attack him from behind.
At that moment, Mark broke his moment of vigilance. Suddenly, he was grabbed by the legs of a monstrous mamun and brought him to the ground with force. Mabeast Mamut quickly seized the opportunity while Mark was lying on the ground in a daze. He took a giant tree in his tromba and struck it with all his might at Mark, crushing him.
"Yes, bravo, beautiful devil!" The girl with the blue braid cheered. "You did it! You nailed it! We won!"
Meili's moment of pleasure was suddenly interrupted by the tree being destroyed into many pieces by Mark, who had escaped from the trap.
"That was another time you celebrated too early," Mark said, listening.
In the next moment, he flew at lightning speed towards the mammoth and with incredible impact force sent him 500 meters above the ground. However, it wasn't enough for Mark. He quickly flew towards it and when Mabeast was suspended in the air, Mark grabbed it by the trunk and sent it towards the smaller beast crushing them all like pancakes.
For a moment, as the great mammoth tried to get up and continue to fight, but stopped halfway and then fell with a bang, meaning he was defeated.
"BUUUUUU the new Onii-san is not cool!" Meili, dissatisfied, stuck out her tongue at Mark. "You did a great wrong to Mr. Mamut!"
"Okay, that's enough Mark." Subaru said alongside Meili along with Emilia, Beatrice, Roswaal, Ram, and Rem. "Roswaal cost himself a fortune finding that Mabeast, and Meili really liked him, so don't kill him."
"Okey."
"Thank you for helping Meili." Emilia said with a smile, stroking Meili's head.
As everyone started to leave for the next location Mark landed in front of Subaru.
"So what's next?" he asked.
At this question, a smile appeared on Subaru's face, pleased with Mark's enthusiasm for training.
...
Roswaal can now be seen levitating above the ground shooting fire towards the ground where Mark was standing testing how much could withstand the hot temperature. Rem and Emilia were asked to prevent the unwanted fire from spreading during this training.
After a while, Mark finally flew out of the fire, gasping for breath. He was wearing only the underpants Subaru had sewn from the remains of a discarded Invincible costume.
"Oh, Jesus!" Mark slapped various parts of his body to hide the fact that he no longer smoked.
"I counted 971." Beatrice, who was counting the seconds before starting this stage of training.
"Hmm... That'll be 16 minutes and 11 seconds. A new record. Good job." He praised Subaru.
"Do you have any more durable clothes?" he asked Mark. "If this is what it's going to be like, I don't want to be in my underwear."
Right after that, Mark started to miss Art Rosenbaum, his tailor, who always repaired his suit when it was ruined.
...
You can now see Mark flying towards the moon. When he reached it, he bounced off it with all his might back to Lugunica, which was a flat planet.
Meanwhile, on the ground, Beatrice and the others were keeping track of Mark.
"I would never fly that high, and he did it just like that." Roswaal thought, just like the others, watching for Mark to return.
The first to see Marek was Ram, who saw Marek approaching in the distance.
"Be careful stupid Barusu." Ram's cold and unfeeling voice then grabbed Subaru by the collar and pulled him aside before Mark who couldn't slow down landed on him who didn't fall.
"I would... I would have been faster, but I got lost on the way back," Mark said, breathing heavily.
Subaru, who was stunned for a moment, quickly recovered after looking at Beatrice, who nodded to him to indicate that Mark had once again broken the last record.
"And yes, you were fast, Mark." Subaru gave a thumbs up, and Mark smiled.
...
There was a large lake near Roswaal's estate. In the middle of the lake was a large iceberg that was just rising, and under it Mark was emerging from the water. He held it for a good few seconds.
"Wait. And... Good!" Subaru shouted, letting Mark know he could now let go of the top of the fridge.
Mark lightly threw the top of the fridge into the air and then flew away from it. When the top landed in the water, a giant wave was created.
"So... Ms. Emilia used all her Mana to create that mountain, and Mr. Grayson just lifted it up." Ram said, genuinely impressed.
"Come on Ram. Since when do we let such trivial things surprise us. Besides, when are we going to end up with him..."
Subaru glances at Mark, and when Mark notices he waves at him, and Subaru waves back.
"He will finally be worthy of his name... The Invincible."
...
The days passed and Mark's training went according to plan. Now that the end of another day was approaching, Mark went to take a bath in a rather large tub. A few days ago, Subaru had told him about magic stones. He concluded that in this world, certain rooms, such as the bathtub, the cold room for storing food, and even the fires where cooking was done, probably used different types of stones.
"Look out, here I come!" Subaru shouted as he jumped into the water, splashing Mark in the process.
Just then Mark heard the sound of footsteps coming towards them.
"Oh I see I won't be camping alone today. Hello Subaru-kun, Mark-kuuun."
They both saw Roswaal without his everyday clothes and only having a towel wrapped around his waist.
So the three guys were bathing in a big tub. They talked about things like new ways to train Mark, and finally the subject of Magic was brought up.
"Roswaal, when I talked to Beatrice a few days ago, she told me that in order to use magic, you have to use your gate."
"Yeah, the gate is necessary for the proper use of magic. It lets in mana from the air and from you. That's the simplest way to put it. The main elements are earth, wind, fire, and water."
Then Subaru broke into the conversation.
"Hey Roswaal, do you see what kind of magic Mark can use?"
"Of course, Suuuubaru-kun. It's no problem for a talented magic user like me."
"Okay, do it!"
Roswaal placed his hand on his forehead and gave him a shy look of concentration.
"Well, if you will. Myon myon myon myon..."
"What is that stupid sound?" Mark asked, surprised by the strange sound he heard in his head.
Finally Roswaal finished checking.
"Hmmmmm... Interesting. Your element is fire."
"How can this be useful to me, Roswaal? Will I be able to shoot fireballs?"
"Yes. But you can also use this type of magic to enhance your blows. Given your stamina and fighting style, this would be the best way to use fire magic."
"...I see."
"We can start magic training tomorrow if you want?" Roswaal suggested, winking at Mark.
"I would be grateful." Mark said, ready for new challenges.
...
After his bath, Mark went to bed to be ready for tomorrow's magic training with Roswaal. Subaru had the same intention. He was walking to his room in the middle of the large hallway, yawning from exhaustion.
"After another exhausting day, I think I deserve some rest."
Suddenly, as he turned into the corridor, he saw Rem, who was changing flowers in vases. Despite the long time she had been lying in bed and the loss of her memories, the maid was still very hardworking.
"Hi Rem, what's up?!"
"Good evening Mr. Subaru." For a second when she heard his voice she flinched, but quickly regained control and bowed to him.
"You don't have to be formal with me, Rem."
"However, I would prefer to remain formal. You are Lady Emilia's knight. It is inappropriate for me to get cozy with someone of a higher standing. Now, if you will allow me, I will leave."
She didn't wait for his permission. Rem simply turned around and went to do other chores, not noticing the sad expression on Subaru's face. He knew the girl in front of him didn't remember him, but it still hurt. On top of that, he had negative points because of the Witch's scent.
As Subaru continued to his room, he met Ram standing outside his door. She had the same stern expression on her face as always.
"Do you want something from me?" Subaru asked, a little more menacingly than he thought.
"Yes I want something from you Barusu." The maid said seeing that Subaru was in a bad mood but ignored it anyway. "You should be honored that a perfection like me wants to ask you for something."
"Spare me your stupid games Ram and tell me what's going on?"
"It's okay. I want you to leave Rem alone." She explained in her cold as man voice.
"WHAT?!" Subaru couldn't believe what he just heard.
"You're annoying her. You're still living in the past. She's not the same Rem who stupidly fell in love with you. She's smarter now. Don't get close to her unnecessarily..."
"..."
"That's all I wanted to say. Breathing the same air as you might be bad for me."
"Ram..."
The departing maid stopped mid-step and looked at Subaru over her shoulder.
"What's the matter, Barusu?"
"Fuck off!"
The next second Subaru entered his room and slammed the door hard. Ram just sighed at that, finding Subaru's outburst childish, and walked away.
In the room, Subaru bit his lip in frustration. After everything he had gone through to help everyone, Ram had given him a "Stay away from Rem" as a reward for his efforts. It wasn't fair. How could he give up being close to the only person who had supported him in the third loop and called him her hero.
Subaru Natsuki tried not to start crying. He decided to focus on the project he had been working on for the past few days. On his desk he had tools for sewing clothes. In addition to the toys, in the middle of the desk was the costume that Subaru had been working on tirelessly. The black-haired man smiled as he got to work, driving away his earlier sadness.
"I hope Mark likes his new costume," he thought, grinning broadly.
...
In his study, sheltered by the night, Mage Roswaal sat by the window, observing his garden.
"Mark may be the final piece to my goal of slaying the dragon." He said, reveling in new hope. "Perhaps we will see each other again soon, my dear teacher."
...
On the training ground, Julius practiced sword fighting on a wooden doll, honing his skills. The events of the past month made him realize that he still needs to become stronger to be worthy of the title of the best knight. The fight between Mark and Reinhard in Prestell made him realize how dangerous situations have been since the beginning of the royal elections.
"AAAAA!" Julius shouted as he cut off the training dummy's head.
"Hello Julius."
When the best knight turned around he saw his two friends Reinhard and Felix. Stopping his training Julius approached them to talk. They were now sitting in a large gazebo in the garden eating various snacks with tea. Reinhard started the conversation with an important topic.
"Mark's trial will soon take place in the capital. How do you think he'll fare? I wouldn't want to arrest him."
"I don't know Reinhard." Felix replied grimly. "Besides, you should worry about yourself too, after all, you too will be judged by what that ink squid did to you."
Reinhard nodded sadly. After the events in Prestella and what had happened to Crusch, Felix had become more serious. He no longer wore his girly clothes, now dressed in a suit and tie. Julius and Reinhard could tell that Crusch hadn't improved since his encounter with Abishop Cappella. Julius mentally cursed the bastards of the witch cult.
"Anyway." Felix suddenly continued. "Old Wil went to Magrawi territory to personally inform them of the trial time."
"Why him?" Reinhard asked, wondering why his grandfather had taken on this task.
"The council assigned them to him. I don't know the details." Felix shrugged. "By the way, have you heard that there's been a lot of shooting stars lately?"
"Shooting stars?" Julius raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"That's right, I'm not making this up. Lately, even during the day, you can see something falling from the sky at an incredible speed, burning. Some people say they see the silhouette of a man."
"I doubt that's true, Felix," Reinhard said. "I might be able to jump to the moon and back, but I doubt anyone else could do it. Even Lord Roswaal couldn't make it to the moon."
"Hmmm, maybe you're right. Besides, I doubt there's life outside the great waterfall. That would be absurd." Felix said.
For the next few minutes the Knights looked at the night sky, wondering what other dangers could arise during the royal election.
When it got really late everyone returned to their camps.
