Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Test

It was a nice quiet day in the small town of Kararagi. The people of the place were dressed in classic Japanese kimonos. The atmosphere on the streets was pleasant and joyful. Everyone was happy, laughing, spending time with their families and loved ones. Now let's focus on two young children going on a picnic with their parents. The little girl got tired of walking, so her father lifted her onto his back.

"Come on Spica! Let's go!" the man shouted as he started running.

"Yuuuupii! Daddy, faster, faster!" The girl said happily.

"HEY you there, don't get left behind!" The black-haired man shouted to his wife and son.

"Fuck off, you stupid old man! I'll show you!" The irritated blue-haired boy shouted, starting to run after his father and sisters.

The blue-haired woman in a white kimono giggled at the happy scene and began running after them with a basket full of snacks.

This is how the Natsuki family lived: enjoying the moment without worrying about what had been and looking optimistically to the future.

...

"Hello Su-san." The werewolf named Halibel called out as soon as he saw Natsuki's family on the horizon and waved at them.

"Hello Halibel-san, good to see you!" Subaru replied as he walked up to the werewolf in a black kimono who was sitting on a blanket smoking a pipe.

"Rem!" Suddenly, a woman with white skin and yellow eyes happily jumped on Rem who was holding a basket of food, causing her to fall over.

"Hello Zarestia. Long time no see." Rem said trying to escape from the hug.

"Ha ha, leave her alone Zarestia or you'll suffocate her!" Halibel said cheerfully, blowing smoke out of his mouth.

"How dare you suspect me of such things, you idiot!" Zarestia was angry, getting off Rem. "I would never hurt Rem!"

"Everyone knows that Zarestia. Halibel-san was just joking." Subaru said as he sat down next to the werewolf, laughing along with him.

Soon, everyone was enjoying each other's company, eating the delicious food Rem had prepared. They spent their time together, mostly talking about nothing important.

"So Halibel-san, you're going on a mission soon." Rigel asked, looking at the werewolf in admiration.

"I didn't decide to rest for a while. Last time, an assassin from Volachia almost killed me by adding poison to my food. Good thing I noticed in time."

"What did you do with that assassin?" Rigel asked, his eyes shining with excitement.

"It's simple. I forced the food he contaminated into his mouth for wasting such great food."

Everyone started laughing except Spica, who didn't understand what was going on.

"Ha ha I love you guys." Subaru said happily as he put his arm around his wife and she smiled.

Natsuki Subaru may not have saved Emilia, he may have succumbed to his weakness, his laziness, but he did not regret what he had experienced with Rem. He would not have traded that time for anything else. He had wonderful children whom he loved very much, friends who supported him. What more could you want? Only that it all last as long as possible.

And that was when the nightmare began...

Spica, the daughter of Subaru and Rem, suddenly noticed something strange in the sky.

"What is this?" the girl asked her parents, pointing at two strange green holes in the sky.

Everyone looked at it in confusion, wondering just like Spica what it was.

Suddenly, people dressed in strange costumes flew out of the portals.

"Mommy, look! Flying people!" Spica exclaims.

Everyone kept their eyes on the strange figures until they flew closer to them.

One of the strange men had a short mustache and a white and gray uniform.

The second man was dressed in a yellow and blue outfit and had large goggles on his face that resembled the eyes of a fly.

"So you're this Natsuki Subaru I've heard about." Mustache Mark said, looking at Subaru intently as if assessing him.

"EEE... Yes, I'm Natsuki Subaru. What do you want?"

"Hey, come on, stop joking!" Mark shouted with goggles, expressing his dissatisfaction to everyone. "Angstrom said it was a very important mission to capture him, and it turns out he's some weakling! The rest are having a great time killing everyone, and we're stuck here with this shitty mission! It's not fair!"

"Shut up, idiot!" Mustache Mark hit his ally in the back of the head. "Focus on the task at hand." Now he looked towards Subaru. "Listen, man, you can come with us willingly, or things will get ugly."

Just then, they heard an explosion in the distance. Subaru and the others watched in fear as the city that was their home was destroyed by other flying people similar to the ones standing before them.

"Damn it, they've already started!" Mark shouted angrily through the goggles. "I was the one who wanted to blow this city up!"

"You bastards!" Subaru shouted with hatred, gritting his teeth tightly. All the possessions he had acquired over the years could be destroyed.

"Su-san, take the kids out of here. Just in case, head towards Lugunica." Halibel said calmly, taking a step forward. "Zarestia?"

"Sure." The great spirit followed the werewolf to confront the attackers. "Rem, you run too."

Rem hesitated for a moment. She didn't want her friends to risk their lives for her. She wanted to fight too, but when she saw Subaru take Spice in his arms and Rigel grab her hand, she made the right decision.

"Tia-san, Halibel-san don't lose." She said motivatingly and they both gave her a thumbs up.

So Subaru and his family began to run as far away as they could from the upcoming fight.

"Oh, seriously." Mark in the goggles sighed loudly, looking at his new opponents. "Some stupid dog and some chick. I was hoping for something more interesting..."

Just as Mark in the goggles began to complain, a wave of wind blades shot out at him. Both Viltrumites immediately made a quick sideways dodge in midair. However, they were still too slow. They received several thin wounds from the air blades made by Zarestia's air magic.

"There will be no second warning! Get out of here!" the woman demanded, a dangerous aura of power pouring from her.

"It's funny that such a wretched creature dares to threaten us." Mustache Mark smiled under his mustache and then turned to Mark in goggles. "That impudent female dog is yours. I'll take care of that dog." With that, Viltrum Mark moved towards Halibel.

"Great!" Mark shouted in the goggles as he charged at the great spirit.

Before Zarestia could react, her opponent threw her high into the air, hitting her in the chin. The flying man quickly went after her, each blow throwing her higher and higher. When Zarestia was approaching the atmosphere, she decided to use wind magic to start returning to the ground. When returning, she shot air projectiles that would cut a normal person in half and he wouldn't even have time to realize it. But the man in the goggles was no ordinary person. When the projectiles were about to hit him, he deftly dodged them, approaching the approaching Zarestia.

Finally, the great spirit filled his hand with magic and both of the fighters' fists collided, creating a great gust of wind that even reached those on the ground even though their clash took place twenty thousand meters above the ground.

"Damn! She took it seriously!" Halibel wondered as he pulled a kunai out of his pocket to face the young man with a mustache.

"You won't hurt me with that, you stupid mutt." Mustache Mark said as he rushed towards the werewolf.

When he quickly grabbed the wolf in kimono by the throat, white smoke suddenly erupted. The young man quickly waved the smoke away. When he regained his field of vision, he saw that he was holding a large wooden beam instead of his opponent.

"Oh, stupid tricks." He got angry as he crushed the log into a pulp.

Suddenly a dozen kunai hit his back, bouncing off his body. When he turned around Mustache Mark realized that the attack came from the dense forest nearby where Halibel had to hide to assess his situation. Mark sighed and flew into the forest.

It was quiet... too quiet. The only thing you could hear was Mark in goggles fighting with the great spirit.

Mustache Mark's eyebrow convinced the werewolf that he was invisible, Mark could hear his breath and smell the pipe. Mark could have attacked, but he didn't. He wanted to see what this werewolf would think of to oppose him.

Finally Halibel emerged from the trees to confront the Viltrum soldier. Mark raised an eyebrow in dismay.

"Do we really have to do this?" Halibel asked, taking out his katana.

Mustache Mark closed his eyes for a moment, seemingly lost in thought, but he knew the answer to the werewolf's question before it was even asked.

"Any last words, you stupid mutt?"

"I love ramen and good alcohol." He replied with a slight smile.

"Then take these words to your grave."

...

In the middle of the road twenty kilometers from the city where the chaos broke out, Rem was panting with exhaustion because since she was the fastest, she had to carry each member of the family on her back.

They decided to rest for a while because Rem was too tired to run any further. The atmosphere was tense. Everyone was worried about Zaresti and Halibel. They knew they were strong, but they didn't know how strong the flying attackers were.

"Mom, will Halibel-san be okay?" Rigel asked, worried about the werewolf. After all, he had promised him that he would train him.

"Everything will be fine, honey." Rem replied, hugging her son.

"Dad, I'm scared... What if they can't handle it?" Spica snuggled into Subaru's chest.

"We have to believe in them, honey. You'll see before you know it we'll be back..."

He didn't finish as a large shadow blocked the sunlight from his entire family. Subaru turned around and looked up at the sky. In an instant, his heart began to beat at the speed of a jackhammer as he saw the person in the sky.

"Ha ha! Poor Subaru. Just look at yourself, you're pathetic."

Subaru and Rem bravely stood in front of a young man dressed in a black and yellow suit with a cape. The husband and wife covered their children so that the Sinister Mark would focus on them, but that didn't happen.

"Jesus you're so pathetic I almost felt sorry for you. You know what..." Suddenly Sinister Mark disappeared from their sight and they felt the wind whip through them. "I'll kill your children quickly."

Subaru and Rem turned around and saw Sinister Mark holding Rigel and Spica by the neck. Mother and father wanted to throw themselves at him to protect their children, but they didn't have time. A large wave of blood landed on their faces.

"NOOOOOOO!!!" They screamed in despair.

Enraged, Rem activated her horn and lunged at Mark, but a second later her head separated from her body with such great force that Sinister Mark severed it in the blink of an eye.

"Reeeem!!!" Subaru fell to his knees, unable to believe what had just happened. There was only one way to save them.

Subaru opened his mouth wide to prepare for death.

"Oh, no way, buddy." Said Sinister Mark, stopping the black-haired man from biting off his tongue by putting his hand in his mouth. "Ugh, disgusting!"

Suddenly, behind Sinister, Mark saw two other variants flying towards him. Both were battered and bloody.

"Fuck, you had one job! How hard can it be to kidnap one guy?!"

"The stupid dog and that female dog were tougher than they looked!" shouted Mark in the goggles, who, like Mustache Mark, had cuts all over his body.

"No excuses! Okay, whatever, take him to the agreed place. I'll have some more fun." Sinster Mark said, passing Subaru to the other variants. "Just don't let him kill you. Come on, don't screw this up."

"Fuck you!" Mark yelled in the goggles as he flew away together with Mustache Mark and Subaru to the agreed location that Angstrom gave them.

...

One of the variants of Mark, who did not have goggles in his classic costume, fought in the capital of Lugunica with knightly knights. Mark's variant easily killed every knight in his path, trying various methods of killing: tearing off the head, pulling the heart out of the chest, crushing the head, etc. The bodies of the Lugunica knights are simply lying without heads or cut in half.

"Fuck, you're weak. When I was told you could use magic, I thought you were strong enough for me to at least feel your attacks."

"Then try me!" A purple-haired knight entered the battlefield.

Julius Jukulius didn't waste time introducing himself. Especially since Mark without goggles wasn't the only one attacking the capital. At the beginning of the attack it was thought that Volachia was attacking them, but that option was ruled out. There were several spies of Lugunica in the empire, so there was no way the emperor could have hidden such warriors for so long. This meant that Volachia was also attacked.

Julius summoned his spirits. He attacked with all the spells he had, but still did nothing to the opponent. Mark without goggles held the best knight by the throat.

"Hey man, are you done yet?!" A variant of Mark in a black and blue outfit and with a short mohawk asked while holding the purple-haired woman by the hair.

"Miss Anastasia!!!" Julius screamed in terror when he saw who Mahawk Mark was holding.

"Why did you bring that bitch here?" Mark asked without his goggles.

"That's why..." said Mahawk Mark shortly, cutting off Anastasia's head.

"NOOO!"

"Ha ha that was funny! Too bad she didn't say something like, Oh don't protect me my knight or something like that. Ha ha!"

"YOU... I swear I will kill you!!!"

"Oh shut up!" Mark without goggles punched Julius in the stomach making a big bloody hole in him thus causing him to bleed to death.

...

In Barielle's house, Priscilla was sitting in a comfortable armchair and looking out the window at the burning capital. Suddenly, a variant appeared behind her, wearing a red and white suit.

"How much longer are you going to stand behind me in silence, you stupid simpleton?" Priscilla asked, getting up from her chair and looking at him. "What is that? A clown costume?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.

"There's no point in answering questions from someone who's about to die," Omni Mark said with a shrug.

He suddenly lunged at her with a punch. Priscilla dodged it by jumping to the side. She summoned her great fiery sword. She swung it, and a wave of flame ignited the Omni Mark suit.

"You stupid worm will lose your head for your impudence!" The Baroness shouted, throwing herself at Omni Mark with her blade.

Omni Mark caught the flying sword with one hand, leaving Priscilla in shock.

"I admit that fire hurt a little, but only a little. I guess you're not as special as you thought since there's not even a trace of a burn on me."

"YOU..." Priscilla wanted to do something but the Omni Mark hit her in the face so hard that she died instantly.

Standing over the body of the Sun Princess, Omni Mark looked around the room.

"I thought he had a knight... Where did he go? Anyway."

Leaving the building through the window, Omni Mark set off to continue destroying the capital. However, he did not notice Al watching him in a distant building.

"Everything is wrong." He said, frustrated. "This shouldn't be happening."

...

In the Holy Empire of Vollachia, the "Land of Wolves", in the nearly destroyed Throne Hall, Cecilus Segmunt protected the emperor by repelling the attack of a flying man.

"RYAH!" Phantom Mark shouted as he was once again wounded by the blue-haired warrior's sword.

"Is that all you've got?" The General asked, breathing heavily as the fighting dragged on.

"Cecilus!" Vincent exclaimed as he noticed another flying man flying into the throne room. This time he was dressed in a blue and yellow suit, but unlike Phantom Mark he wore no mask.

"Alright, time to finish," Cecilus said, looking at his sword, already dull from constant fighting. "To think that my sword will be in such a state in such a short time."

Suddenly Cecilus stopped holding back and began to attack his enemies at full speed. The variants could barely keep up with him with their eyes, but it was no use as the General's blade cut through their tough skin like it was butter despite the dull edge.

The variants screamed in pain as their arms were severed, but not for long as Cecilus quickly cut off their heads.

"It was fun, but compared to Reinhard van Astrea it seems like nothing," Cecilus said.

"General Zirk, what is the situation outside?"

"Your Highness!" The short man with the afro looked out the window in horror. "The rest of those flying bastards have already destroyed the entire city."

"What?!" asked Vincent, confused.

"It's possible." Cecilus said. "I've held back so far when fighting them, but I can tell you that one of them could definitely take on Arakiya."

"Impossible, even Madam General?" said Zirk Osman in disbelief.

"I didn't fight to regain my throne for years to lose it now!" Vincent looked out the window to see Mark's variants destroying his city like it was made of dominoes. "If we want to live up to our titles, we must fight even in this dark hour! We are Volachia and we will not bow to anyone!"

"YES." Zirk and Cecilus chanted.

...

In the water city of Prestella the same thing prevailed as in most of the world: Chaos.

But suddenly when Sinister Mark flew there he flew to the city hall where Metia was. Together with other Variants and thanks to the device they got from Angstrom they could broadcast their messages to the entire flat world.

"The inhabitants of Prestella." The authoritative voice of Sinister Mark, which could be heard throughout the world, rang out. "And the inhabitants of all of Lugnica, Volachi, Gustego and Kararaga. You know? You think we are evil after we conquer your world, but surrender would solve everything. You will not die at our hands if you are smarter. At first I did not want to help in the conquests, but after killing my own father it dawned on me that this is the only way to prevent senseless wars and other such events. You will also finally understand, one day you will thank us for conquering this world. But remember, the greater the resistance, the greater the suffering. We did not destroy your cities for fun, we only warned you that resistance to the inevitable is pointless. Do you think you will stop us with your own forces? Remember, we are... Invincible."

...

Reinhard van Astrea was always afraid that he would not live up to the expectations placed on him. But thanks to his strength and thousands of divine protections, he usually managed. But not today. When the flying invaders attacked the world, the Sword Saint did his best to protect the people of the capital as best he could, but even with his strength and abilities, he could not be everywhere. Where he was not, there were variants destroying the city. Reinhard failed his friend Julius, the World... but he failed Felt the most, whom he now held bloodied in his arms.

Felt had no heart. Literally. Her heart had been ripped from her chest. The city was burning everywhere. No one left here survived. Only Reinhard.

"So you're the hero of this world. You're not very impressive." Omni-Mark laughed as he floated along with the other variants above Reinhard holding Felt close to him.

"...I'll kill you."

"Hmm?! Say it again, I didn't hear you!" Mahawk Mark put his hand to his ear comically.

"I'll kill you all. For all you've killed. You're dead." Reinhard never thought he was capable of hating anyone, but he was wrong. Now, as he looked at the Invincibles, his eyes were no longer blue, but blazing red.

The sword saint put Felt aside and then leapt at the speed of light towards his targets... but suddenly a green portal appeared in front of him and closed behind him.

"What the hell?!" shouted Mahowk Mark. "This is where it gets interesting!"

"Whatever. We're going to the desert. Angstrom told us to go there when we're done here." Omni-Mark said as he started flying into the desert.

...

Subaru was tied up. No way to kill himself. He was now looking at the dead body of the scantily clad woman that Goggle Mark and Mustache Mark had killed. It was strange, but Subaru could have sworn that before she died, the woman had called him "Master".

Anyway, they brought him to some strange tower in some desert. There were even more people gathered there, similar to them, only in different colored clothes. There were about sixteen of them, if Subaru counted correctly.

Suddenly, from the green portal, a black man and a woman in a fur coat emerged along with a pair of bodyguards.

"Natsuki Subaru, the so-called hero of death." The man spoke up, approaching him. "The only variant of Subaru who isn't a complete idiot. You know, I've looked through the multiverse a lot, most of your variants never abandoned Emilia, died for her dozens of times, and yet they never got a happy ending."

Angstrom removes Subaru's gag.

"Fuck you!!!"

"I'm sorry I used your world as a test case for these guys' capabilities."

"I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU I'LL KILL YOU!!!!"

"I'm sorry about your family. Sinister Mark overdid it a bit. It wasn't part of my plan. You can't use death return." Angstrom said oddly calm. "You can't reset anything anymore." He pulled out a strange purple stone. "This is a seal that will trap you forever like Sattela. Forgive me."

Subaru, with a cry of despair, was locked in purple amber.

"Will you tell me where you sent the Holy Sword?" Omni-Mark asked as if Subaru's suffering didn't concern him.

"This is my backup. In case you can't get revenge on another Mark."

...

At this point, it was unknown where Reinhard was floating in space. He had only one thought

"I'll beat them all."

It was strange. Reinhard felt like he had super strength inside him, but he didn't feel any of his Divine protections, he didn't feel any magic anywhere. At that moment, all he could do was hold his breath as best he could.

Suddenly he saw a strange metal thing on the horizon.

Without thinking twice, Reinhard swam as if in water towards the strange object. When he was close enough, the strange green beam sucked him in like a vacuum cleaner.

Strange purple guards took him to a cell. Red-eyed Reinhard didn't resist. He didn't want to. At that moment he wanted to investigate the situation and then plan what to do next. When they took him to a cell it turned out that he had a roommate. Orange and with one big eye.

"Oh, hey, man! So why did they lock you up here, buddy??!"

From the Author

Hey guys. The Invincibles have conquered the world of sloth.Reinhard ended up in prison with Allen... and Nolan. I decided to weaken Reinhard by teleporting him to the world of the Invincible so that it wouldn't be too easy in Viltrum War. But still, when it comes to physical strength, Reinhard could easily fight Conquest or Thragg on equal terms.

As for the question of whether I will do something that will make Emilia evil, that's how I plan to do it.
