Chapter 9 - The confrontation

Zita's eyes locked onto the shadow, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she had to be careful, that she had to tread carefully if she wanted to uncover the truth.

As she stood there, frozen in thought, the shadow stepped forward, into the light of the full moon. Zita's eyes widened as she realized that it was Lord Arden, the king's closest advisor.

"Lord Arden," Zita said, her voice firm. "I know what you've done."

Lord Arden's smile was slow, his eyes glinting with amusement. "What are you talking about, Your Highness?" he asked, his voice smooth as silk.

Zita's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with anger. She knew that she had to be careful, that she had to tread carefully if she wanted to bring Lord Arden to justice.

"I know that you were involved in my brother's disappearance," Zita said, her voice shaking with emotion. "I know that you were the one who orchestrated his murder."

Lord Arden's expression was unreadable, his eyes seeming to bore into her very soul. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said, his voice calm.

Zita's anger surged, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she had to keep her cool, that she had to stay focused if she wanted to bring Lord Arden to justice.

"Don't lie to me," Zita said, her voice firm. "I have evidence, Lord Arden. Evidence that proves your involvement in my brother's murder."

Lord Arden's eyes narrowed, his expression changing from amusement to concern. "What evidence?" he asked, his voice sharp.

Zita's smile was slow, her eyes glinting with triumph. "That's for me to know," she said. "But I will say this, Lord Arden. You will pay for what you've done. You will pay for your crimes."

Lord Arden's expression was grim, his eyes seeming to bore into her very soul. "You are playing with fire, Your Highness," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You are playing with fire, and you will get burned."

Zita's heart skipped a beat as she realized that Lord Arden was threatening her, that he was warning her to back off. But she knew that she couldn't, that she had to keep pushing forward if she wanted to uncover the truth.

As she stood there, frozen in thought, Lord Arden turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Zita alone in the courtyard. Zita stood there, her heart pounding in her chest, as she realized that she had just taken a major step forward in her investigation.

But she also knew that she was in danger, that Lord Arden would stop at nothing to keep the truth hidden. She knew that she had to be careful, that she had to tread carefully if she wanted to bring Lord Arden to justice.

As she turned to leave, Zita felt a sense of determination wash over her. She knew that she was on the right path, that she was getting close to the truth. And she knew that she would stop at nothing to bring the person responsible to justice.
