Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Accepting a Disciple

"A good name."

Han Feng thought of Lin Xian'er's mother, Lin Qiao'er.

This name was likely given by her mother. As for the girl's father, there might be another secret.

"My name is Han Feng."

Han Feng didn't ask further but stated his own name.

"Lord Han," Lin Xian'er immediately said respectfully.

Han Feng nodded lightly and asked, "Do you know the secret in your body?"

Lin Xian'er shook her head and said, "I'm not sure, but there must be something strange about me, otherwise I wouldn't have killed so many people."

"Lord Han, if I am going to kill more people in the future, please kill me now!"

Lin Xian'er looked into Han Feng's eyes, her gaze firm and unwavering.

This was a childish yet firm vow from a little girl.

Han Feng saw the seriousness in Lin Xian'er's eyes, but of course, he couldn't possibly kill her.

Although Lin Xian'er possessed the Woeful Poison Body, she was kind by nature. This was the real reason Han Feng decided to adopt her.

If she were an ordinary girl, Han Feng could have entrusted her to a good family for adoption or brought her back to Feng City for a simple settlement.

But the Woeful Poison Body was different. Ordinary families did not have the ability to adopt her, and others couldn't save her from the Woeful Poison Body either.

Only he could change Lin Xian'er's tragic fate, bit by bit.

"I will not kill you. I will take you as my disciple," Han Feng said.

Lin Xian'er's resolute gaze changed, and she stared at Han Feng in a daze.

"The secret in your body is the Woeful Poison Body, a powerful congenital poison cultivation physique that can continuously devour toxins to become stronger. The proof is the seven-colored poison line on your lower abdomen."

Hearing this, Lin Xian'er pulled down her pants in front of Han Feng and found the seven-colored line below her abdomen.

Han Feng averted his gaze and continued, "This poison body will automatically awaken once it devours toxins. The reason the people in the mountain village died is because of the poison gas released when your poison body awakened."

Lin Xian'er thought of the poisonous herb she had accidentally eaten that day and understood at once.

"If left unchecked, you might indeed bring disaster to the world in the future... but I have a way for you to control your poison body."

Han Feng looked at Lin Xian'er and said, "If you are willing to become my disciple, I will do my best to teach you."

Lin Xian'er finally came to her senses, knelt down directly in front of Han Feng, and kowtowed three times.

"Master!"

Han Feng nodded with satisfaction.

"Good. Then today, I will accept you as my disciple."

In his past and present lives, this was the first time Han Feng had accepted a disciple.

He helped Lin Xian'er up and patted the dust off her clothes.

"From today on, I will teach you a qi-refining cultivation technique. Cultivate it well and strive to control your poison body as soon as possible. Before that, do not let anyone know this secret."

"Yes! Master!" Lin Xian'er said firmly.

"Then let's not delay. Let's start now."

Han Feng taught Lin Xian'er the most basic method of absorbing qi. On the Dou Qi Continent, the foundation of all cultivation was Dou Qi.

Only by sensing this extraordinary energy could one even talk about anything else.

Lin Xian'er had just come into contact with the cultivation mantra, so it was impossible for her to start cultivating directly. She followed the book Han Feng gave her, memorizing the meridian pathways of the human body and some key points of cultivation.

She memorized until noon before Han Feng took her out for lunch.

A well-dressed, refined gentleman holding the hand of a raggedly dressed little girl—this combination attracted the attention of many pedestrians.

The girl leaned back behind Han Feng, feeling a bit self-conscious.

Han Feng realized that it was time to buy the girl some suitable clothes.

The two walked into a restaurant and ordered a few stir-fried dishes and two bowls of rice.

The waiter quickly shouted the order to the kitchen and then brought tea for the guests to enjoy first.

The mercenary business in Qing Shan Town was extremely developed, so in the restaurant, almost every other table was occupied by shirtless, burly men drinking and chatting, with a pile of weapons next to them. The smell of blood and sweat was pungent, making people not want to get close.

Dignitaries and nobles all went to special, large restaurants and would not come to a place like this. Han Feng, being new here, was not so particular.

Therefore, his elegant attire was also noticed by some boorish men who had drunk their fill of horse piss.

After lunch, Han Feng paid the bill, a total of ten copper coins, very cheap.

"Waiter, where is the largest cloth shop in Qing Shan Town?"

"Sir, if you're not short on money, go to the Xiu Luo Pavilion two streets to the east. You won't go wrong!"

"Good, thank you."

Han Feng added three more copper coins as a tip and left the restaurant with Lin Xian'er.

A moment after they walked out the door, a table of mercenaries reeking of alcohol exchanged a glance and a smile.

"Let's go, follow them!"

Han Feng and Lin Xian'er arrived near the Xiu Luo Pavilion that the waiter had mentioned. The luxuriously decorated storefront stood out in the barren Qing Shan Town, displaying its nobility.

The three large characters for "Xiu Luo Pavilion" were painted in gold lacquer, written in a flamboyant and elegant style.

This was a famous cloth shop brand in the Jia Ma Empire. The power behind it was related to the three words "Miteer."

As for why "Xiu Luo Pavilion" would open in Qing Shan Town, it was probably because the mercenaries here would regularly provide the freshest animal hides and fur.

The shop owner would buy them from the mercenaries at a price higher than the market rate, process them with special techniques, and then transport them to major cities, attach expensive price tags, and sell them to the nobles and wealthy families.

Therefore, in Qing Shan Town, few people would go to Xiu Luo Pavilion to buy finished clothes. They would usually just look at the fabrics and then buy a small piece to process themselves.

Han Feng stepped into this "not-short-on-money" cloth shop. Various high-grade fabrics hung on the walls, and a very pleasant fragrance filled the air.

This environment alone was enough to attract most people to shop here.

However, most people probably didn't even have the courage to step in, only daring to stand outside the main door for a moment, then walking away with a longing look, turning back every three steps.

"Please recommend some clothes for a little girl."

Han Feng said to the female shop assistant beside him.

"Of course, sir. Please wait a moment. We need to take her measurements first."

Another shop assistant had already brought a measuring tape. The female assistant took it, knelt down, and measured Lin Xian'er.

Throughout the process, she showed no sign of dissatisfaction, even though Lin Xian'er was indeed a bit dirty.

Professionalism provided customers with a good shopping experience.

Next, the female assistant was about to help Lin Xian'er wash up, but Han Feng just pointed lightly, and an azure water droplet dripped from his fingertip.

In the female assistant's surprised gaze, Lin Xian'er's body was enveloped in a ball of water, turning her into a water sphere with only her head exposed.

"Alright, go change your clothes now that you're clean."

Han Feng smiled and patted Lin Xian'er's head. His Dou Qi instantly evaporated the wet spots.

The female assistant looked at Han Feng respectfully, bowed slightly, and led the well-behaved Lin Xian'er to the changing room.

Han Feng browsed the shop, keeping an eye on Lin Xian'er's situation at all times.

He had overlooked the class of this cloth shop, so he had given Lin Xian'er a quick wash on the spot.

After a short while, the female assistant came out with Lin Xian'er, who had changed into a white dress.

The little girl's features were very delicate. Although her figure was a bit petite, her ethereal temperament could not be hidden.

The name Xian'er was indeed very fitting.

Han Feng nodded slightly, pointed to the clothes he had just looked at, and said, "One of each of these styles."

He took out a purple-gold card and handed it to the female assistant.

"This should be enough."
