Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Great, it’s Superman, we are saved!

The Inner World was pitch black.

The Teen Team members hadn't expected to fall into an enemy trap as soon as they entered The Inner World; everyone except Atom Eve, who could fly, was caught.

Eve was currently missing, and the remaining members of the Teen Team were trapped by the webs spun by Dr. Earthquake's pet, a giant spider two hundred meters long, comparable in size t

"So what do we do now?!"

"Are we just going to wait here until other Super Heroes free up to rescue us from The Inner World?"

"Well, I guess that doesn't sound too bad! We can't get out anyway."

Explosion Rex stood in the center of the Teen Team. He looked at the transparent spiderwebs that surrounded them, pulled at them forcefully, and realized that these webs were not only extremely tough but also harder than steel. Even Explosion and fire couldn't cause the slightest damage to them. At this moment, he was truly out of ideas, hence his self-deprecating tone.

"Even fire and Explosion are useless against these webs?!"

After Robot saw Rex's actions, he was silent for about half a second before immediately detaching his arm, revealing a high-molecular chainsaw he considered his trump card, and vigorously slashed at the webs.

"Whirr! Whirr!!"

However, to Robot's surprise, this high-molecular chainsaw, which could cut through titanium alloy and diamonds, was completely ineffective against these incredibly tough webs.

"I can't do anything either."

"It seems we can only rely on Eve, who wasn't caught in the trap."

Robot shook his head, he had done his best.

"If even you two can't do anything, then I'm even more helpless."

"You can't possibly expect me to fill this space with countless clones and burst this web cage from the inside, right?"

"I can guarantee you that before the cage bursts, we'll be squashed into meat paste by my clones, one step before the cage."

After seeing that neither Robot nor Rex could do anything about the giant spiderwebs in The Inner World, Clone Woman Kate shook her head helplessly.

"It's okay."

"I believe Eve will find a way to rescue us."

Rex said confidently.

"Bang!"

Just then, with a roar, something seemed to fall in front of them.

"Something fell."

Robot said, twisting his head to provide more light in the endless darkness for everyone, allowing them to clearly see what had fallen in front of them?!

"Eve!"

As everyone looked in the direction of Robot's light, they saw a beautiful young woman, disheveled, bleeding from her head, and incredibly battered.

Yes, it was indeed Atom Eve, who, because she could fly freely, had not been caught in Dr. Earthquake's trap.

At this moment, Eve seemed to have just gone through a perilous battle.

And it was very clear that she had failed to defeat her opponent and had been severely wounded.

"Eve!!"

"Are you alright?"

Suddenly, the Teen Team's last hope was shattered. They looked at the unconscious Eve and gasped.

"Hahahahaha."

"It seems you're out of ideas."

Just then, accompanied by a sinister laugh, the previously dim underground world suddenly lit up with strong flashes of light, illuminating the entire world in an instant.

"Uh..."

The Teen Team, trapped in the webs, used this sudden strong light to finally see the full extent of their surroundings.

"This is impossible!"

"There's actually a palace inside The Inner World?!"

Rex and Kate exclaimed in disbelief.

"This is trouble."

Even Robot felt an immense headache after seeing the scene before him.

The Teen Team members were currently trapped in the center of a huge underground palace. In front of them was a hundred-meter-tall, lifelike statue of Dr. Earthquake.

Beneath the majestic statue was a row of crosses, and each cross bound a face incredibly familiar to the Teen Team: the world-renowned Global Guardians.

"You're kidding, right?!"

"The Immortal, Darkwing, War Woman, Red Speed, Martian Man, Green Ghost, and even Aquaman have all been captured?"

"Didn't we agree we were here to support the Global Guardians and just provide some assistance?"

Rex looked at the Super Heroes tied to the crosses and said in disbelief, "And what the hell, how was Red Speed caught? Aren't you the fastest Super Hero on Earth?"

"Sorry, kid."

"I didn't expect Dr. Earthquake to lubricate my unavoidable path."

"So what happened next, you know..."

On the cross, Red Speed, who had accidentally broken his leg and couldn't run for a short time, weakly answered Rex's question.

"What about The Immortal and War Woman? How were you two caught?"

Rex continued to press.

"Sorry, kid."

"We tried our best."

The Immortal and War Woman, hearing this, lowered their heads in shame.

In reality, The Immortal and War Woman had indeed tried their best; each of them had taken down more than two giant centipedes.

But there were too many and too strong insects in this underground world. After hours of fierce fighting, they were ultimately defeated by Dr. Earthquake's insects and The Inner World people's army, and thus captured.

As for Darkwing, Martian Man, and Aquaman, these three were just making up the numbers in The Inner World.

Green Ghost was sucked in by Dr. Earthquake's newly developed gravity waves.

At this point, the Global Guardians were completely wiped out.

"Boom!"

It was also at this moment that more lights were ignited.

"By the way, where did The Inner World get lights?"

Rex grumbled.

"You wouldn't want to know."

Robot shook his head, a hint of helplessness in his voice.

"Damn it, those aren't lights at all."

At this, Rex instinctively looked towards the source of these lights and then saw a terrifying sight.

The light sources that had illuminated this underground palace, which Rex had mistaken for giant incandescent bulbs, were not actual lights, but rather pair after pair of eyes, shining in the darkness.

The owner of each pair of eyes was an arthropod, a centipede, a scorpion, or a spider, each hundred meters long.

"There must be at least a hundred giant insects here!"

Rex roared.

"To be precise, they are all arthropods."

Robot corrected Rex's terminology.

"Shut up."

"You know I didn't go to school."

Rex gritted his teeth. He truly didn't know what to do now. There were hundreds of monsters here that their Teen Team couldn't even defeat one of.

Besides that, there were tens of thousands of Inner World people.

"Hahahaha!"

"Do you feel despair?"

"It's good that you feel despair!"

At this moment, Dr. Earthquake descended from the sky. He used gravity waves to lift the collapsed Eve, threw her onto a new cross, and then looked at everyone present, saying viciously, "I just want to make you despair!"

"Why is he talking so incoherently?"

Rex looked at Dr. Earthquake and asked, puzzled.

"This guy was originally a geology professor at the University of Chicago. In one of his experiments, he luckily developed the Earthquake Gauntlet, but rushed into experimentation without fully understanding the side effects of the gauntlet, which damaged his brain."

Robot explained.

"According to calculations by a related team, Dr. Earthquake gets a concussion every time he uses the Earthquake Gauntlet, which is why he's become increasingly deranged, to the point where he now wants to destroy humanity."

Kate then added.

"Silence."

"My idea of destroying humanity started when I was an undergraduate."

"You know, I majored in sociology and women's studies."

Dr. Earthquake said.

"Alright, enough with the nonsense."

"I'm going to make a bet with my old rival, Superman, using your lives."

Dr. Earthquake said to himself.

"You despicable scoundrel, Superman will surely crush your conspiracy! Whatever your conspiracy may be."

The Immortal, even tied to the cross, still roared at Dr. Earthquake.

"I want to prove to him."

"Humanity is not worth saving."

Dr. Earthquake ignored The Immortal's babbling and continued his lengthy monologue.

"As for you?"

Dr. Earthquake waved his hand, and the arthropod army immediately received orders, quickly approaching the Guardians members tied to the crosses. They seemed to have been eager to make an appetizer out of these Super Heroes for a long time.

"Wait."

"Didn't you just say you were going to use us as hostages to bet against Superman?"

"How did you change your mind so quickly?"

Rex looked at Dr. Earthquake, who seemed to be arguing with himself, and asked, puzzled.

"You actually expect a madman's rambling words to be reliable?"

Kate glanced at Rex and said, speechless.

"Ah ha ha ha!"

"Die!"

Dr. Earthquake ignored Rex, laughing maniacally, as if he had already foreseen the scene of these heroes being torn apart by his little darlings.

"Boom!"

Just then, accompanied by a violent roar, the ceiling of the underground palace was torn apart, and a man in a black battle suit slowly descended from the sky.

Perhaps because the palace lights were not bright enough, everyone couldn't clearly see the man's face, but they clearly saw the large 'S' on his chest.

"Great, it's Superman! We're saved!"

Although everyone couldn't clearly see the man's true face, just noticing the iconic symbol on his chest, they instinctively identified who this descending man was.

Besides Superman, probably no other hero would have that iconic 'S' on his chest.

"Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!"

As everyone thought this, powerful heat vision immediately descended from the sky, completely tearing apart several giant arthropods closest to him.

"Is Superman that violent?"

For a moment, both the Guardians and the Teen Team were stunned
