Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Thanks to March 7th's mirror, Bai Ming realized there wasn't much difference between her current self and the one from before she crossed over.

In fact, she could even say that the person who arrived in this other world was still her.

Yet this nearly unchanged transition brought with it one particular consequence

Bai Ming's resistance to this new world was extremely low. After all, arriving unharmed in a completely new world could only be considered incredibly lucky.

And just how low was that resistance?

So low that she didn't reject anything about this world and could blend in seamlessly, as if she had always belonged here.

As a result, Bai Ming felt no restrictions or awkwardness at all—in fact, she felt completely at ease.

She was exactly the same as before, and even after arriving here, she remained entirely herself.

Her carefree, cheeky personality hadn't changed a bit.

Just earlier, while March 7th, Dan Heng, and Arlan were discussing the events at the space station, Bai Ming swore on her conscience that she really wanted to join in.

But despite her good intentions, she quickly realized she couldn't.

After all, she was still someone who had only just arrived in this world.

There were countless things she only half-understood.

The Antimatter Legion? She had never heard of them.

March 7th had mentioned that the monsters she had defeated earlier with her baseball bat seemed to be part of that very legion.

The Astral Express?

Uh… that was probably some kind of train, right?

And Herta? Bai Ming was completely in the dark—she only knew it was someone's name.

The same went for Asta, who had been mentioned afterward.

There was nothing she could do—Bai Ming honestly had no idea who any of them were.

Besides, when it came to remembering people, just hearing a name wasn't enough. She needed to actually see someone at least once before she could commit them to memory.

And as for that thing called a Curio… it wasn't even worth mentioning.

As a level 60 Traveler and an 88-level Captain, the only comparable things she knew of were artifacts and, possibly, stigmatas.

Once her thoughts started to wander, her actions naturally began to drift off course as well.

After sneaking a quick yawn, Bai Ming stretched lazily and, as if nothing had happened, quietly opened her [Honkai Impact 3rd – Date Exchange System].

The crystals in the top right corner shimmered brightly.

420

From 420 → 280!

Bai Ming's heart, filled with a foolishly pure desire for gambling, began to burn with excitement!

The gathered wishes shall become a shining new star, lighting the path forward!

A single pull for a miracle!

Her [Valkyrie Armor: White Comet] was still usable for now—so this time, she was going for a weapon!

[Precision Supply] — confirmed!

[Single Supply Draw] — confirmed!

"Come on, good stuff—answer my call and appear before me!"

Fortunately, no one was watching Bai Ming at that moment. Otherwise, seeing her clasp her hands together and mutter fervently like that, most people would probably think she was performing some kind of strange ritual.

Gathering every ounce of hope she had, she pressed the button.

[Congratulations! You've obtained Lucia (Top) ☆☆☆]

[Lucia (Top) ☆☆☆]

[Skill – Charge Enhancement]:

Increases physical damage dealt by charged attacks.

[Set Bonus – Templar Knight]

Heavy Cannon Mastery – 2-piece set:

Increases ranged physical damage. When equipped by Bronya, also further increases max HP during battle.

Defense Enhancement – 3-piece set:

Increases defense during battle.

As Bai Ming stared at the item description panel, her expression gradually grew complicated.

Her heart sank into despair.

Because, honestly—while the attributes weren't completely useless, they were so far off from what she needed that they might as well have been irrelevant.

Charged attack bonus?

Kiana's [Valkyrie Suit: White Comet] couldn't even make use of that!

Ranged physical damage?

She was literally swinging a baseball bat and performing close-range five-hit combos with gun-fu techniques!

The Defense Boost was… somewhat useful, sure—

but only if she managed to collect the full three-piece Stigmata set.

The only silver lining was that this Stigmata gave special bonuses when equipped by Bronya.

But that didn't change one simple fact—

It was completely useless right now…

Crystals -280, Inventory +1

Bai Ming felt as though her heart was bleeding.

"I'm done! I'm not playing anymore!"

"This is way too unfair!!"

Bai Ming stomped her foot in frustration as she declared her defeat.

To her, it was just a normal bit of venting—

but to March 7th and the others watching, the scene was… a little strange.

After all, seeing a beautiful girl stomp her foot and shout that she didn't want to play anymore wasn't something you saw every day.

"Bai Ming, what's wrong this time?" March 7th asked cautiously as she turned around.

"Did you catch some kind of weird sickness again?"

"Ahem!"

Realizing she might have overreacted, Bai Ming quickly coughed a few times to cover up her embarrassment.

"N-No! I'm perfectly healthy!"

She said this while desperately trying to brush the matter aside.

Quickly trying to gloss over the topic, she asked, "Uh, so… what were you guys talking about again?"

It was an awkward attempt to change the subject—the kind of transition that would earn a zero if this were an essay.

Fortunately, no one seemed interested in pressing her about what had just happened.

Arlan continued his explanation:

"After the evacuation was completed, to prevent the Legion from continuing their assault on the central control section, elevator access was temporarily locked down."

"Miss Asta entrusted you to find me, right? She should've given you the access key to unlock it?"

At those words, Dan Heng's gaze slowly shifted from Arlan to March 7th.

Feeling his eyes on her, March 7th furrowed her brows slightly, trying to look thoughtful—

But her tone… it clearly sounded off.

Almost as if she were feeling guilty.

Oh no—scratch that, she definitely looked guilty!

"I think… she gave me a card or something…" March 7th admitted weakly.

Sensing something was wrong, Dan Heng turned toward her.

"March, you…?"

His tone carried a hint of reproach—a quiet but unmistakable suspicion toward March 7th's hesitant reply.

To put it bluntly, Dan Heng (and probably Arlan too) clearly thought March 7th had lost the card!

Although Bai Ming hadn't been part of the earlier discussion, she had been listening closely to everything that followed.

And right now, she could tell exactly how this was going to go—March 7th was about to get scolded.

Facing Dan Heng's steady gaze, March 7th looked pitiful, her eyes watery.

"I don't remember where I—"

Before she could finish, Bai Ming quickly reached out and covered her mouth.

She then turned toward Dan Heng and Arlan, her expression full of apology.

"Um! That's probably my fault!" she blurted.

"I insisted on helping March earlier to deal with those Anti—uh…"

"Antimatter Legion," Dan Heng supplied calmly, seeing her struggle to recall the name.

"Ah, right! The Antimatter Legion!" Bai Ming nodded rapidly, picking up the explanation.

"It must've gone missing around that area by accident!"

"So please—give me a chance! Let me go back and find it!"
