Adrian POV.
I chuckled at her response. It had always been said the heart recognizes even when memory fails.
Maybe this was the case at the moment.
I sat back on the bed, my finger carefully slipping a few loose strands of her hair behind her ear.
Her skin was warm beneath my touch warmer than normal and yet she didn't pull away.
Instead, she watched me with an intensity as though she could see through me and that made my chest tighten,
"Why do you think my answer was wrong?" I asked quietly.
Her gaze snapped to meet mine. "Believe me when I say feelings of the heart are much more true than any word." She sighed. "So I think that my feelings being contrary to your answer was enough."
I exhaled deeply.
She really got me this time.
But so what? Nothing will make this answer change.
With this new development, I was certain a few things had changed in her just before waking up.
