Chapter 11 - A Bond that never be changed

Stella felt embarrassed by Kalvin's words and asked him to stop teasing her like that.

Kalvin, "Hey, why are you getting angry? Look, from now on, this cafe is ours."

Stella, "When did you talk to this rich person? Besides, who is this rich person who gifted you such a beautiful cafe? Did you promise him some dangerous work in return for which he gave you this cafe?"

Kalvin, "Oh, no, it's nothing like that. I signed a contract with them where I have to work as their detective. That's why they gave me this cafe. They will pay me 5 gold coins per week."

"Five gold coins?" Stella shouted. "That much money? That's more than what we save in a whole six months!"

Kalvin, "Yes, exactly. And from now on, you won't work outside the house. Your working outside the house stops from today."

Stella, "Why?"

Kalvin, "Because it's not right for girls to work outside the house; there's always a risk of danger for them. You are my sister, and I don't want to put you in any danger. Besides, I now have a good paying job. I will also run the cafe, so you won't have to work outside anymore."

Stella, "Okay, if you say so, then I won't work. But there's a condition: you have to treat me to at least one pastry every week," she said with a happy smile on her face.

Kalvin, "Oh, what are you saying? I'll treat you to ten, not just one!"

They continued laughing and joking for a while.

Stella helped Kalvin arrange the items in his cafe. Stella saw good quality coffee beans, various kinds of sweets, plates, cups that would leave an impression, and other items.

Stella, "So many things! This must have cost a lot of money. I can't believe this is actually yours, Big Brother. By the way, we're going to open the cafe, and I see a kitchen here. What's its purpose?"

Kalvin, "Oh, silly, our cafe isn't limited to just sweets and coffee; we will also sell full meals here."

Stella, "Oh? Then who will be the chef here? Are you going to hire a chef?"

Kalvin, "Naah! I will be the chef here myself."

Stella, "You? You will be the chef here! Do you even know how to cook? I don't think so."

Kalvin, "Who says I can't cook? I just don't show you, but I can cook very well."

Stella, "Yeah, yeah, we know how well you can cook. You almost burned our cooker while trying to cook," Stella laughed as she said this.

Kalvin, "That's an old story; many things have changed now. I've also learned to cook now. And if I couldn't cook, would I have taken this cafe?"

Stella, "Ummm, you don't talk nonsense. Well, we'll see."

Kalvin, "Come on, come on, we are getting late; we need to finish this work quickly and go home. Oh, I forgot to tell you something: we will be changing our home in another month or two."

Stella, "Why? What's the problem with this house?"

Kalvin, "The environment of this house is very unhealthy. Don't you see we have to share our washroom with our next-door neighbors? There isn't proper space to sleep here. Small rooms, and moreover, the wood on the walls is moldy."

Stella, "That's true, but we have lived here for a long time."

Kalvin, "We were forced to live here then because of our financial situation. But now the situation has changed; we have enough money now to get by, and that's why I want us to save some more money in another month or two and move together to a new, better house. Besides, I've asked Alsem to come to our place. His condition is not very good. Even if he comes here, he will only be slightly better than where he was before, but he won't be healthy.

And if he comes, we might also have a bit of a problem staying together. That's why I want to find a new house and move in as soon as possible. What do you say?"

Stella thought for a moment and agreed with Kalvin. She also thought, "Yes, we have money now; we don't have to live like before." She added, "But yes, don't spend this money on unnecessary things; you boys don't have good habits, you know."

Kalvin gave a faint smile and said, "Hey, don't worry, I will keep it with me very carefully and securely."

Kalvin and Stella finished their work and headed towards home. On the way, Kalvin took Stella into a clothing store.

Kalvin, "Your clothes are old. Go and choose whatever you like."

Stella looked at her brother and asked, "Really?"

Kalvin, "Don't worry, this is not an extra expense."

Stella listened to Kalvin and started selecting a dress of her choice.

Kalvin then looked at Stella and thought to himself, "I didn't have any sister on Earth. Having a sister is truly beautiful."

Stella chose a dress that was a regal evening gown in deep shades of navy and black, accented heavily with gold detailing. The dress features a high halter neckline with a sheer, lace-like panel across the chest, adorned with intricate, moon-like gold embroidery. The silhouette boasts a voluminous, multi-layered skirt that is high-low, revealing the legs in the front while sweeping to the floor in the back with cascading ruffles and sheer, pale purple underlayers. The character completes the look with long opera gloves, dark high-heeled shoes, and a simple gold tiara atop an elegant updo, suggesting a sophisticated look.

It cost a total of half a gold coin. Kalvin and Stella then went home. Stella felt tired from the extra work today, so she took a bath, went to her room, and fell asleep.

Kalvin went to his room and sat on the bed. Then, with a special rhythm, he tapped his left molar and arrived in the mysterious place of the blue mist. As he sat on his royal throne, he saw Astron before him again...
