Karin simply stared at him curiously.
Xinglin smiled.
"Naruto, this is my daughter. She's younger than you.
From now on, she's your little sister. You must protect her and never let anyone bully her."
Naruto hadn't expected that in a single day he would gain not just an aunt… but a little sister as well .....and such an adorable one.
He nodded earnestly again and again.
Then Xinglin spoke to Karin,
"Karin, this is your Big Brother Naruto. From today on, he'll play with you and protect you, alright?"
Karin looked at the blushing boy and nodded politely.
"Hello, Big Brother Naruto. My name is Uzumaki Karin. Please take care of me."
Naruto nodded repeatedly, too nervous to speak.
Seeing the two children getting along, Xinglin stood up, took one of their hands in each of hers, and began walking toward the house.
"Alright, it's time for dinner. Let's go home and cook."
Just as Naruto Uzumaki encountered Uzumaki Xinglin, Uchiha Arata had already parted ways with Uchiha Shisui.
There were some matters he could no longer delay.
No matter whether it was for Mikoto or for Uchiha Itachi, Lady Tsunade had to be brought back.....the greatest medical ninja in the entire shinobi world.
Her hemophobia wasn't an issue.
The Uchiha Clan had plenty of illusion specialists.
A simple psychological genjutsu would be enough to remove her trauma.
As for why Tsunade had never cured it herself, Arata suspected there were emotional scars.....old regrets, bitter disappointments....that made her choose avoidance. Hence the phobia remained.
On top of that, Arata still hadn't received the intelligence he needed regarding the second stage of the Cloud Village's secret technique, Lightning Release Armor.
He refused to let Konoha's spies risk their lives on his behalf. So he had decided:
Once Uzumaki Xinglin recovered, he would extract a near-perfect version of the Uzumaki bloodline from the three surviving clan members.
After that, he would go to Kumogakure personally....to meet the Fourth Raikage face-to-face.
Getting the second stage of the Lightning Armor through intelligence channels would be difficult.
So he would simply copy the perfected Lightning Armor directly from the Raikage.
By then, with his incomplete Sage Body and the Uzumaki blood constitution, he should be able to skip straight over the second stage and begin training the perfected Lightning Armor immediately.
Of course, that meant he would have to endure considerable physical pain.
Which was precisely why Arata wanted Tsunade back.
If she supervised him.....or even helped.....his training would progress faster, and he might avoid unnecessary injuries.
Thus, after leaving Shisui's home, Arata did not return to rest, nor did he slip into his personal space to relax.
He went straight to the Hokage Building to find the Third Hokage.
As an ANBU member, Arata wasn't stopped by the guards and entered unrestricted.
Fortunately, it was nearly lunchtime, so there were no officials or advisors in Hiruzen Sarutobi's office.
Arata walked in and found the Third Hokage leisurely smoking, enjoying a brief moment of peace.
Seeing Arata enter, Hiruzen took a long drag from his pipe before exhaling a thick cloud.....truly the mark of a veteran smoker.
In the brief flicker of the pipe's embers, the Third Hokage looked up and asked,
"Arata-kun, what brings you here? Shouldn't you be resting at home?"
Arata bowed respectfully.
"I have an important matter in which I require your assistance, Hokage-sama."
Then he added, with meaningful emphasis:
"A very important matter."
Hiruzen's expression grew serious. He sat upright, gestured for the hidden ANBU in the room to withdraw, and only then asked:
"What matter requires even the hidden guards to leave?"
Arata replied respectfully:
"I wish to request that Hokage-sama summon Lady Tsunade, one of the Legendary Sannin, back to the village.
A member of my Uchiha Clan....Uchiha Itachi....
is not in good health. We suspect it may be the early stages of a hereditary bloodline illness.
Since it is still early, it should be treatable. I hope Lady Tsunade can return and examine him.
Even if she cannot cure it completely, easing the symptoms would help."
(Arata, of course, was lying. Itachi wasn't sick—this was merely a precaution.)
Hiruzen took another slow drag of his pipe.
"Itachi, huh? That child is exceptional.
So young, yet already awakened the Sharingan.....and possesses the Will of Fire in his heart. What happened to him?"
