Chapter 121 - Chapter 120 : Uzumaki Naruto and Uzumaki Karin

When Uchiha Shisui heard Arata's answer, he didn't smile. His face remained tense as he stared into Arata's eyes:

"What about the price? What did you sacrifice? Izanagi is a forbidden technique of the Uchiha for a reason.

No matter if it's a three-tomoe Sharingan or a Mangekyō, once you use Izanagi, that eye will lose its light forever. I don't believe you paid nothing.

Arata, tell me....what is the cost for you? Otherwise, I'll never be at ease."

Hearing this, Uchiha Arata fell silent.

He knew very well that every time he used Izanagi, a bit of his Yin-chakra was consumed.

But with the system supporting him, that loss was almost negligible.

After a few days of training, it would return to normal....so the "price" barely affected him at all.

But of course, anything related to the system could never be revealed.

So Arata simply laughed and waved it off:

"Don't worry. The burden on me is very small. Compared to that, your safety matters far more."

Since asking his question, Shisui had been closely observing Arata's expression. After hearing his response, he fell quiet, then slowly nodded.

Arata breathed a small sigh of relief. Then, as if remembering something amusing, he activated his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan with great enthusiasm.

"Shisui! Look, look! My Mangekyō looks different now, right? See? See?"

He was just like a kid showing off a brand-new toy.

Naturally, Shisui was shocked.

He himself had a Mangekyō Sharingan, but an Eternal Mangekyō....he had only heard stories.

To see one in person was a completely different experience.

Arata then spent a long time explaining everything he had learned.....new knowledge, insights, and the path to evolving into an Eternal Mangekyō.

For clarity, he even pulled Shisui into a genjutsu space and demonstrated the entire process.

At the end, Arata patted Shisui's shoulder:

"I've only taken one step ahead of you. You can catch up....I believe you'll surpass me one day. Your talent is better than mine, after all."

Though he said that, Arata clearly knew the truth.

Shisui's path would be much harder.

Arata had the system.

He could copy ocular techniques, and when he did, he also copied the foundation behind each Mangekyō.

With the accumulated potential of many Mangekyō Sharingan, he could evolve his own into an Eternal Mangekyō in a very short time.

But Shisui and Itachi didn't have that kind of convenience.

They could only rely on their own abilities and struggle toward the same goal.

Arata actually did know of another method....not one that could grant them Eternal Mangekyō, but one that would drastically increase the safe usage time of Mangekyō techniques.

However, right now, he wasn't capable of doing it.

Once he was strong enough, he would tell Shisui and the others.

After explaining everything, Arata finally stopped delaying Shisui's rest. He said goodbye and reminded him:

"Rest well. Three days from now, I'll arrange for you and Itachi to go outside the village.....to the Rain Village.....to gather intelligence."

······

At the same time Arata left Shisui's home, something else was happening in a different corner of Konoha as a ripple effect of Arata's earlier actions.

This morning, Uzumaki Naruto unexpectedly overslept.

The reason was simple: he had drunk some expired milk last night and spent half the night with stomach cramps.

Only when dawn was breaking did his stomach finally settle enough for him to fall asleep.

So when he was half-asleep, he noticed noise outside his room.

Normally this was impossible.....Naruto lived on the top floor of the building, and though the neighboring rooms were empty, no villager ever dared to live near him. They hated him, feared him, and avoided him.

Since childhood, those rooms had always been abandoned.

It was always deathly quiet around him.

Naruto's eyes opened instantly. He held his breath and listened carefully.

After a while, he confirmed it:

Someone had moved into the room next to his.

His heart immediately thumped wildly, and his face turned red.

He had always wished for a neighbor....not necessarily someone who would talk to him, but at least someone whose presence could make him feel less alone.

Late at night, when there wasn't even the slightest noise nearby, it felt like the whole world had abandoned him.

That suffocating loneliness was unbearable.

Naruto took a moment to calm his pounding heart.

He tugged at his worn-out clothing, wishing he had something cleaner to wear....but this was all he had.

Taking a deep breath, he slowly opened his door and peeked out carefully.

He was afraid the new neighbor might hate him like everyone else.

His expectations were low.....he just hoped they would be like Teuchi-ossan from the Ichiraku Ramen stand: fair, calm, and not afraid of him.

As Naruto timidly leaned out, he saw a beautiful, gentle-looking young woman thanking the workers who were helping her move furniture. She had long, vivid red hair that made her look warm and full of energy.

While Naruto stared blankly, the red-haired woman seemed to sense something.

She turned her head slightly.....and saw the little blond boy

peeking at her with wide eyes.

Then she gave him a bright, warm, sun-like smile filled with kindness.
