But after a moment's thought, he allowed it.
After all, most in the village already knew this secret.
Letting the boy boast a little could even serve as a form of intimidation.
When the young ninja finished, the leader stepped forward and asked coldly, "You two from Iwagakure… sneaking into our village in the middle of the night.....what exactly are you plotting?"
The "Rock Ninja," who was in fact Uchiha Arata's shadow clone, nearly laughed aloud.
He hadn't expected the Grass shinobi to expose their own secret so easily.
Feigning righteous anger, Arata's clone snapped back, "You dare question us? You should be thankful we haven't brought punishment upon you yet!
Do you even know who lives in this house? They're fugitives...remnants of the destroyed Whirlpool Clan!
Tell me, Hidden Grass, why are you sheltering them? Are you dissatisfied with the great nations?
Do you wish to follow the Whirlpool Country into ruin?"
The Grass leader's expression hardened.
Of course he knew who the red-haired woman and her child were.....the Whirlpool bloodline was unmistakable.
And yes, he'd used her unique healing ability for his people's benefit.
The village had no proper medical ninja; even a pseudo-healer from that clan was worth keeping around… until she was no longer useful.
But he hadn't expected the Hidden Stone to learn of it.
The accusation burned him.
You great nations devoured the Whirlpool Country whole, he thought bitterly.
And now you even begrudge us the scraps.
While Arata's clone argued outside, the real Uchiha Arata had already transported Kakashi and the unconscious mother and daughter to his secluded villa within his dimensional realm....Takamagahara.
He casually dropped Kakashi onto the floor, then gently laid Karin and her daughter on a soft bed.
After confirming that both were still deeply asleep, he picked up Kakashi again and carried him into another room.
Arata already possessed a space-based ocular power of his own, so he'd never felt a pressing need to copy Kakashi's Kamui.
But now, since he'd been forced to knock Kakashi unconscious for safety's sake, he figured he might as well take the opportunity.
"Better to do it now," he murmured. "Next time he might be on guard."
He set Kakashi down, face up, and carefully lifted the forehead protector covering his left eye.
Peeling back the eyelid, Arata's gaze fell on the familiar Sharingan.....its three tomoe glowing faintly even in unconsciousness.
A smirk tugged at his lips. "Still active, even while you're out cold.
No wonder you're always drained… what a waste of a prodigy."
Drawing a deep breath, Arata activated his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, the intricate pattern spinning to life.
Slowly, he began channeling his ocular energy into Kakashi's Sharingan, probing the depths of the foreign eye.
Under his influence, the tomoe began to rotate...slowly at first, then faster and faster, until the movement blurred into a spinning storm.
The tomoe linked together, transforming into a triangular shuriken-like pattern that gleamed with a dark brilliance.
Arata watched in quiet admiration. "Beautiful," he whispered.
This was no ordinary eye.....Kamui, the space-time Mangekyō, a treasure among Sharingan.
For a moment, he simply appreciated the craftsmanship of fate that had forged such power in a non-Uchiha.
Then, with a flicker of focus, he began copying the technique itself.
The energy was dense.....so much deeper than most ocular jutsu he'd encountered.
Even his Eternal Mangekyō took time to adapt, parsing and analyzing the structure of Kamui's unique spatial signature.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, a crisp electronic tone echoed in his mind:
Congratulations, Host. Successfully copied ocular technique 'Kamui'. System analysis in progress… estimated completion: 22 hours."
Arata exhaled in relief. "Tch. That was tougher than expected."
He hadn't realized how profound Kamui truly was.....an ocular art born of two geniuses, Uchiha Obito and Hatake Kakashi, both bonded through tragedy and powerful emotions.
Only that combination of bloodline and despair could have birthed such an anomaly.
"Lucky for me," Arata murmured, glancing at the unconscious Kakashi.
"If I'd tried this while he was awake, it would've been messy."
With the process complete, he stood and dusted off his hands.
Outside, Uzuki Yugao was still waiting beyond the Grass Village perimeter.
Time to wrap this up.
