Chapter 23 - Enemy Worth The Caution [4]

"Ah! Fuck! Shit!"

Cale jumped from his seat which remained in a empty classroom

"O-Oh I'm back"

Deep long breaths were taken to calm down, but it proved futile, there was no way anyone could keep themselves calm after the bullshit experienced in just a couple of seconds

Due to Cale experiencing all of the pain for only three seconds, he was capable to barely get a grip on his sanity

But if it went on for longer...

"H-Hooo"

The thought sent coldness down his damp spine, shuddering and making him look on the verge of having a seizure

His ragged breaths couldn't stop, they kept increasing in intensity, not allowing Cale to have even the solace of safety outside

"...ha"

It was obvious something like this would happen, but Cale's ego whispered and told him he could take it, no excuses could be given at his pathetic self that he showed. Though that goes to show, just how supernatural his situation really was to the world he knew

Laying sprawled down on the floor, legs refusing to sent any motion towards the floor, they were completely numb and were trembling like a leaf

'That thing, was playing with me'

Rationale took a firm grip at him, it wasn't like he suddenly gained the mental capacity to endure that kind of pain and injuries, there just wasn't anything to process

Cale felt the pain, he saw his right arm and shoulder torn off, the sensation of a sharp metallic blade phasing right through him smoothly like butter, the resistance was nonexistent, only when the hand was removed could it be felt, finally his other arm got crushed and mangled like a bleeding stress ball

Yet, its displeasure was apparent, though no face or expression could be made, its metal helmet like face shifted to a deep frown, it all had happened so suddenly that Cale had already begun to forget this scarring experience, the body couldn't even register and keep a hold of the pain that was felt in memory

And because it had all happened so fast, it didn't take a genius to find that, that humanoid monster was obviously playing with its food. It could've simply destroyed the head and be done with it...

'But it didn't, It took my arm without me even noticing and then it put a hole In my body'

Cale probably wasn't even its prey, it was torturing him for the fun of it, mocking in the process, it was like a chicken bucket appearing clean on the street with no one around to eat, many would steal it and eat it since the person who left it there was wasting food anyway

"..."

After another elongating minutes that passed like. Cale partially calmed his body down, allowing basic function without fainting immediately

'They're strong...'

That was the only thing that could be commented on without any doubt clouding his mind, there wasn't any other word in Cale's dictionary capable of encapsulating them as a whole.

"I found their weakness though..."

But it couldn't even be properly used because of the Insane physical difference between Cale and them

"They are too fast and too strong"

Not much comprehension was needed to know that Cale would die before their weakness could even be attempted

"I gained and lost something at the same time"

His newly calmed body raised itself up and sat down on the desk, sweat clung to the strands of hair that sticked themselves to different parts of Cale's facial features, then he shakily opened the backpack taking a water bottle out of it.

Opening the lid and letting fall on the backpack he propped on the desk Cale gulped all the cold water down, the refreshing cold hitting the tongue and taste buds, his throat almost choked on the rushing water that impatiently tried to rehydrate Cale's current state to its peak, after drinking the contents of the water bottle he carefully set it down, the hand that was grasping the water bottle trembled uncontrollably proving a simple task such as setting down a water bottle difficult for him

'I need to get a grip'

Nothing good came out of people finding out his current state, though he was more calm now it wasn't enough

'Why can't I be like those edgy novel protaganists with zero emotions?'

If he had some sort of passive trait that killed his emotions Cale would have easily been able to overcome these sort of situations with little to no difficulty with their calm cleverness

He begun to feel envious of them, but envy would not put survival at the tab

"Hooooo"

Exhaling and Inhaling fresh air back, the rebellious body began to grow cool and stable

A few more minutes passed just like that. Keeping that stableness long, and a certain shitty and disgusting feeling welled the bile in my stomach, churning wildly inside of Cale's body

"Where are they? They don't take this much time"

The dragging minutes of unease started to replace and overwhelm the churning feeling of wanting to vomit

'Is this the wrong classroom?'

It seemed to be the case at first, but Cale quickly dismissed it as the doppelganger wouldn't even be here in the first place if that were true.

'That doppelganger only had one job to do...If it got even that wrong...'

As Cale was thinking of propping up a brick somewhere high and make it fall on the doppelganger's head, the door suddenly snapped as open as his eyes were at the random figures that stormed in.

Two figures stepped In, Raven Stone and Gravel Stone

"..?"

"Huh, what are you doing here?"

The two were confused, or well Raven was the only one really confused. Gravel looked like how someone came out of a roller coaster that made them scream their vocal cords outside full of misery

'The twins?'

Raven talked in a tone reminiscent of Catrina's, the only difference being that she seemed more mischievous than her
