Chapter 6 - The Adventures Of Kasana And Emi As Well As Their Farewell

Previous Story Summary: Kasana and Emi did not fight; they made peace. Emi felt hungry, and Kasana made her food—just some roasted rabbit meat. Emi loved it because she usually only ate raw meat every day. Kasana offered to go with her to a village so Emi could try other delicious food, but Emi was hesitant. In the morning, Kasana was ready, and Emi immediately decided to join Kasana, even though she still felt anxious around other people.

The story begins with Kasana and Emi stopping near a river.

Emi: "Sorry, Kasana, I feel tired because I used a lot of my magic. I want to rest here for a bit."

Kasana: "No problem, we've traveled a very long way."

The sound of Emi's stomach grumbling could be heard, indicating she was hungry again.

Emi: "Kasana, please make me some food like yesterday."

Kasana: "Yes, I will prepare it as quickly as possible. Don't die of starvation!"

Kasana stood up and started the process of washing the meat, gathering tree twigs, and preparing two stones in her hands.

Kasana: "Come on, I can do it this time."

Kasana rubbed the two stones hard, but they only produced friction, with no fire at all. Kasana got angry and threw the two stones to the ground.

Kasana: "Emi, please help me make a fire again."

Emi: "Okay..."

Emi created a fire. Once the fire was ready, Kasana began roasting the meat. It wasn't long before it was finished. Kasana, Emi, and Emi's spirit also ate. Emi tried to talk to Kasana while they were still eating.

Emi: "How much further until we arrive, Kasana?"

Kasana: "What do you mean, how much further?"

Emi: "To the village, of course! Didn't you say we would go to a village and eat delicious food?"

Kasana: "Yes, that's right. Our destination is the village."

Emi: "So, how much further until we get to the village?"

Kasana: "I don't know how much further."

Suddenly, the atmosphere became silent. Emi stopped eating her meat and stared at Kasana, while Kasana and Emi's spirit continued eating theirs. Not more than 10 seconds later, Kasana looked up at Emi, who was still staring at her.

Kasana: "What's wrong, Emi? Is the meat undercooked?"

Emi grabbed Kasana's shoulder.

Emi: "So, you mean we've walked this far with absolutely no direction, and you don't even know where the village is?"

Kasana: "Yes. What's the matter?"

Emi: "It means we're lost! Why didn't you say from the beginning that you didn't have a map? I should have just stayed in my original spot and not come with you!"

Kasana: "We're not lost. Isn't this how adventurers are? They don't need a map at all; suddenly, they just find what they're looking for."

Emi: "Where did you get that idea? What kind of adventurer says that?"

Suddenly, the sound of a bell was heard. A horse-drawn carriage with the words "General Store" written on it appeared. Kasana and Emi looked at the carriage simultaneously.

Kasana: "See? Your words were right."

Emi spoke in her heart:

How can this be such a coincidence?

Kasana and Emi approached the carriage and left their food. As they walked away, Emi's spirit ate both of their portions.

Kasana and Emi called out to the general store seller. Finally, the seller heard Kasana and Emi's calls and stopped the carriage. The seller was happy that someone wanted to buy something. He quickly entered his carriage and opened the sales window.

Seller: "Welcome! What are you looking for? Perhaps a bottle of calm mountain water? Don't worry, this water is genuine mountain water, not river water. Sharp weapons? Or maybe a potent healing potion?"

Emi: "No, we're not looking for anything like that. We are just looking for a map. Do you have one?"

Seller: "Of course, I do!"

The seller searched, found a map of the island, placed it on the counter, and showed the map to Kasana and Emi.

Kasana tried to grab the map, but the seller slapped her hand with a small wooden stick.

Kasana: "Ouch! What was that for?"

Seller: "You can hold it once you've bought it."

Kasana: "Of course, I'm going to buy it!"

Seller: "That's good. The price of this map is 10 silver coins."

Kasana and Emi looked at each other.

Kasana: "What is a silver coin?"

Emi: "Do we have to dig underground first to get silver?"

The seller looked bewildered at Kasana and Emi.

Seller: "Seriously, what world do you two come from? How can you live without using money at all?"

Emi: "Isn't it obvious? We just need to hunt for food every day; that's enough to keep us alive."

Kasana: "Can you tell us how to get those silver coins? It's not like we're going to dig underground, right?!"

Seller: "Of course, you won't be digging underground by yourselves to look for real silver! You can get silver coins by, for example, working."

Emi: "Allow us to work for you."

Seller: "It's obvious I won't hire you. You clearly can't help me sell goods. Enough! Why don't you work at the nearby village instead of bothering me? My goal is also to go to that village to rest."

Kasana: "Can you tell us which way the village is?"

The seller pointed in the direction of the village.

Seller: "Good luck reaching the village!"

The seller closed his carriage window and drove away.

Emi: "Finally, a clue to the nearest village! Let's finish our food and go to that village."

When Kasana and Emi returned to their resting spot, their meat was gone, and only Emi's spirit was left, fast asleep.

Emi: "Oh my goodness, you are going to be punished!"

Emi scolded her spirit. Kasana and Emi started their journey towards the village again. Time passed, and finally, a village came into view. Many monsters were entering the village. Some residents were running, and others were fighting the monsters.

Kasana: "This looks like a bad sign. Come on, Emi, let's help them!"

Emi immediately took action, directing her spirit to run quickly toward the village. Kasana even hugged Emi so she wouldn't fall.

Emi: "Kasana, you should just watch. Your body hasn't healed yet. Let me handle this by myself."

Kasana: "Yes, I know. I just want to be a little useful."

Kasana thought to herself:

It's a good thing Emi is here. It's clear I definitely couldn't fight those monsters, even just one.

Shifting the perspective to the village, two residents were surrounded by many monsters. Suddenly, Emi arrived from behind the monsters and defeated all of them.

Emi: "Don't worry, I will help you all!"

Meanwhile, Kasana was watching Emi defeat the monsters just outside the village, next to the general store carriage from earlier.

Seller: "Your friend is amazing! She is so strong; she can defeat so many monsters!"

Kasana briefly looked at the seller and then returned to watching Emi defeat the monsters.

Kasana: "Yes, she is very strong, so much so that I can't do anything to help her."

Time passed, and all the monsters in the village were defeated. Many residents came out of their hiding places, surrounded Emi, and offered their thanks. Kasana and the seller also entered the village.

Female Resident 1: "Thank you, sweet girl! You are so strong!"

Male Resident: "Thank you very much! Finally, someone has helped this village!"

They continued to praise Emi for saving them. The village chief arrived and approached Emi.

Village Chief: "Thank you for saving this village. I want to repay your kindness. What can I do to help you?"

Emi heard this and was immediately tempted by his words.

Emi: "I want delicious food. Do you have any?"

The village chief just laughed briefly and replied to Emi's request.

Village Chief: "Of course, we do, if that's all it is! We will hold a celebration tonight."

Emi spoke in her heart:

(There will definitely be a lot of delicious food!)

Night fell, and the village began the celebration. Many residents were eating together, and some were dancing, while Kasana and Emi ate together.

Emi: "This is so delicious, Kasana! Can you make food like this too?"

Kasana: "Of course not. I'm still not experienced enough to make food like this."

Emi wanted to talk to Kasana but hesitated.

Emi: "Kasana, they said we can stay here. Do you want to stay here too?"

Kasana: "That sounds great! We can rest peacefully tonight and leave again tomorrow."

Emi: "That's not what I meant. I want to live here and eat lots of delicious food."

Kasana: "So that's what you mean. It's good if you stay here. Now you have friends and won't live alone."

Emi: "What about you? Do you want to stay here too?"

Kasana did not hesitate to answer; she replied calmly.

Kasana: "I will continue my journey."

Emi: "Why don't you just stay here and live a peaceful life?"

Kasana: "I just want to find out about my lost memories."

Finally, the night's event ended. Time passed, and in the morning, Kasana was getting ready to leave. Suddenly, Emi came up behind Kasana and immediately hugged her, while Kasana was slightly surprised and looked toward Emi.

Emi: "It's impolite to part ways without saying goodbye to your own friend."

Emi took a bag from behind her and gave it to Kasana.

Emi: "This is for you on your journey."

Kasana: "What is this?"

Kasana opened the bag, which contained coin money.

Kasana: "Is this money?"

Emi: "Yes, that's money. You can use it to buy a map so you don't get lost."

Kasana: "This money belongs to you, Emi. Even if I buy a map, this is too much."

Emi: "Just take it. I can easily get money here. The village chief said they would give me money and delicious food, but I have to protect the village from monsters."

Emi hugged Kasana tightly.

Emi: "Thank you, Kasana. I'm lucky I met you. I feel warmth now, getting to be with new friends and, of course, experiencing the enjoyment of food."

Kasana shook her head.

Kasana: "I didn't do anything; that was all your hard work."

Kasana stroked Emi's head. Emi didn't mind and felt comfortable when Kasana stroked her head.

Emi: "Goodbye, Kasana! I hope we can meet again."

Finally, Emi and Kasana parted ways. Kasana walked away from the village while Emi continued to wave to Kasana.

Shifting the perspective back to Kasana, as she was walking, the general store seller approached her with his carriage.

Seller: "I see you're carrying a lot of money in that bag. Don't you want to buy anything?"

Kasana: "Don't ask again! Of course, I want to buy!"

The seller smiled broadly and stopped the carriage. Kasana also stopped walking.

Seller: "I'm happy to hear that. All these goods are now double the price."

Kasana made a disappointed face.

Kasana: "In that case, never mind."

Kasana started walking again, ignoring him.

The seller felt anxious and quickly spoke.

Seller: "I was just joking! Please buy something!"

Kasana returned to the general store and bought some items. Kasana continued to search for the items she needed for her journey.
