Chapter 5 - Enemies To Friends

Previous Story: Encountering a girl playing the flute and a wolf, Kasana was chased by a wild animal and entered a dangerous forest. Upon entering, Kasana heard a very pleasant sound. Kasana wanted to find out the source of the sound. When she arrived, Kasana saw a girl playing the flute. The Flute Girl, upon seeing Kasana, became angry and began attacking Kasana, causing Kasana's body to suffer many wounds. In the middle of the fight, bandits appeared, wanting to steal the Flute Girl's power. Kasana and the Flute Girl worked together to fight the bandits and won. The Flute Girl apologized to Kasana. Unexpectedly, Kasana fainted while standing, and the Flute Girl managed to catch Kasana's body just as she was about to fall.

Time passed. In the afternoon, Kasana woke up. Opening her eyes, Kasana saw a white wolf. Kasana immediately screamed.

Kasana: "Ahh..."

The wolf licked Kasana's face, causing Kasana to fall silent, still frightened. The Flute Girl finally appeared before Kasana.

Flute Girl: "You finally woke up."

Kasana tried to look around and stand up, but her body still felt pain from the wounds.

Kasana: "Ah..."

Flute Girl: "Don't move too much, or the cloth I tied might come undone."

Kasana: "Do you know anything about medicine?"

Flute Girl: "Of course not. I only saw another wound on your arm. I just followed suit, covering your wound with some discarded cloth left by the bandits earlier. Come on, let's eat. I brought food for you."

The Flute Girl showed 5 rabbits she had obtained from hunting.

Kasana: "Where did you get those?"

Flute Girl: "I don't know either. My Spirit brought them here."

Kasana: "If that's the case, how are we going to eat them?"

Flute Girl: "Of course, we'll just eat them immediately."

Kasana was confused by her words.

Kasana: "Eat them immediately?"

The Flute Girl took 1 rabbit and ate it raw. Kasana, seeing this, couldn't bear it and closed her eyes.

Kasana: "Stop it! I can't look any longer."

Flute Girl: "What do you mean? Isn't this normal?"

Kasana slapped the Flute Girl's hand, making the rabbit in her hand fall.

Flute Girl: 'Hey, my food."

Kasana took bread out of her bag and put the bread into the Flute Girl's mouth. The Flute Girl, tasting the bread in her mouth, found it delicious and ate contentedly. A wolf's ears and tail appeared.

Kasana was puzzled by this world. Kasana spoke to herself in her heart.

Kasana: What is this world? It's so illogical. Where did those ears and tail come from?

Kasana: "Eat that bread quietly. I will roast these rabbits so we can eat."

Kasana cleaned all the rabbit fur. The Flute Girl approached Kasana.

Flute Girl: "You're quite skilled."

Kasana: "This is just experience."

Kasana remembered making food with the princess that failed and turned into cake instead. Kasana spoke to herself in her heart.

Kasana: Now that I think about it, it feels strange.

Kasana spoke to the Flute Girl.

Kasana: "Is there a river nearby?"

Flute Girl: "Yes, there is, but it's a bit far from here."

Kasana looked up at the sky.

Kasana: "Will we make it to the river before nightfall?"

Flute Girl: "Of course, we will. Don't forget my spirit."

The Flute Girl climbed onto the wolf and pulled Kasana up onto the wolf as well. The wolf ran fast. Kasana, afraid of falling, hugged the Flute Girl.

Kasana: "Slow down a bit! I feel like I'm going to fall."

Flute Girl: "I can't. My stomach is already hungry."

They finally arrived at the flowing river. Kasana took a sharp stone, cut the rabbits open, discarded the internal organs, and washed the blood off in the river. After finishing, Kasana and the Flute Girl returned to the initial spot.

Flute Girl: "Is it ready to eat yet?"

Kasana: "Of course not yet. Help me find some twigs. We need to make a fire."

Flute Girl: "How do you make a fire?"

Kasana was shocked by the Flute Girl's question.

Kasana: "Huh..."

Twigs were gathered. Kasana rubbed two stones together to make a fire. Time passed. 5 minutes went by, but the fire still hadn't started, and the darkness of the night had obscured their view.

Kasana: "Ugh... My hands hurt so much."

Flute Girl: "Let me try."

Kasana: "Go ahead."

Kasana gave the two stones to the Flute Girl. On her first try, the Flute Girl managed to light a fire. Kasana looked at this and felt angry at nature. Kasana spoke to herself in her heart.

Kasana: Tch, so unfair.

Flute Girl: "What's next?"

Kasana: "We just need to roast this rabbit meat."

Kasana took a long, thick branch and placed it near the lit fire, with the rabbit meat starting to roast. Time passed. Finally, all the rabbit meat was cooked. Kasana handed it to the Flute Girl.

Kasana: "Go ahead and eat. Although it tastes plain, it's better than eating it raw."

The Flute Girl ate the rabbit meat. Upon tasting it, she ate voraciously.

Flute Girl: "This is so delicious!"

The Flute Girl ate with tears streaming down her face. Kasana was puzzled by the Flute Girl.

Kasana: "Eat calmly."

Kasana felt a strong gust of wind from behind her. When she turned around, she saw the Flute Girl's spirit staring at Kasana's rabbit meat.

Kasana: "Can he eat too?"

Flute Girl: "Usually, he won't move to eat unless I tell him to. Perhaps he wants the rabbit meat because he smells the delicious aroma."

Kasana pointed the branch with the rabbit meat towards the wolf. The wolf immediately ate it, including the branch. Kasana looked at the branch she was holding and spoke to herself in her heart.

Kasana: Good thing I'm feeling better, or my fate might have been like that branch.

Kasana and the Flute Girl ate together. Before long, the meal was finished, and the Flute Girl felt full.

Flute Girl: "Ahhh... Finally, I can taste delicious food. I want to eat delicious food again. Can you make more food?"

Kasana: "I only roasted it simply, but if you want delicious food, why don't you come with me to the village? You can eat delicious food there."

The Flute Girl's expression became uneasy. Kasana noticed the drastic change in the Flute Girl's expression.

Kasana: "What's wrong? Do you still not trust other people?"

Girl: "Yes..."

Kasana: "That depends on your decision. Do you want to keep avoiding other people without being able to eat delicious food, or come with me to the village to socialize with new people and eat delicious food?"

The Flute Girl lay down and closed her eyes. Kasana also closed her eyes, and they both fell asleep. Time passed. The next morning, Kasana woke up and looked around, not seeing the Flute Girl. Kasana spoke to herself in her heart.

Kasana: That's her choice. It looks like I'll be leaving alone.

Just as Kasana was getting ready, the Flute Girl and her spirit wolf appeared. The spirit wolf was carrying a large cloth.

Kasana: "Where were you?"

Flute Girl: "Hunting. This will be our food for the journey."

Kasana: "So you want to come? I thought you didn't."

Flute Girl: "Of course, I'm coming! I want delicious food. Come on, quickly climb onto my spirit wolf."

The Flute Girl extended her hand to Kasana. Kasana accepted the Flute Girl's hand, and they both climbed onto the spirit wolf. They began their journey. Midway through the journey, the Flute Girl spoke to Kasana.

Flute Girl: "Oh, I forgot to ask something."

Kasana: "Ask what about?"

Flute Girl: "We haven't told each other our names yet. My name is Emi."

Kasana: "Nice to meet you, Emi. My name is Kasana."

Kasana and Emi continued talking throughout the journey.

To be continued: The book displays Kasana's story 5: Enemies Become Friends. Kasana woke up and saw Emi's spirit. Emi brought food for Kasana, a dead rabbit. When Emi ate the rabbit raw, Kasana stopped Emi and took the rabbit meat to roast. Time passed. When it was finished roasting, Emi ate the cooked rabbit meat, finding it delicious and eating voraciously. Kasana invited Emi to the village to try eating delicious food. The next morning, Kasana and Emi were ready, and they both began their journey to the village in search of delicious food.
