After the young master finished preparing, they made their way to the headquarters of the Blackmane Guild. Baek Haemin looked out the window, and observed the streets quietly.
Since he didn't bother going out during the first ten days he transmigrated, this is his first time going out of the manor and breathing fresh air.
The street lights turned red and the car stopped just before they were about to turn left. That's when Baek Haemin spotted a familiar building.
He muttered,
"That building…"
The huge black tiger head on top of that building is as ridiculous as the first time I saw it.
Jiwon, who's driving the car, looked at him from the rear view mirror.
"Yes, Haemin-nim. We'll arrive there after two turns."
The hand below his chin froze. Haemin scrunched his face,
"Wha…"
T, that's the Blackmane's Headquarters?!
"Who the hell designed that logo?"
She laughed while nodding her head, as if she heard him make a joke.
"Yeah, yeah, young master. I know. Haemin-nim really has the best taste, right?"
Jiwon winked at him in the mirror and giggled, while her young master at the back almost dropped his jaw.
Don't tell me… Baek Haemin did it?! Wasn't Blackmane Guild's logo supposed to be a lion?! That's what it says in the novel!
***
The Blackmane Guild is as lavish as lavish could be.
That was the first thought that went through Haemin's mind as he entered the building.
Apart from the tacky logo, everything from the technology installed on the building down to the smallest details of every employee's uniform was impeccable.
The people they encountered didn't fail to acknowledge him, be it slightly bowing their head or exchanging small greetings.
I thought everyone here would avoid me like the people at home but they're friendlier than I thought. Heh, it feels nice.
Haemin's lips curled into a smile as the confidence from his past life slowly started coming back. His chest puffed up as he walked to the elevator with Jiwon.
Han Jiwon pressed the number 3 button and the elevator started moving. Her sleeve slid down as she lifted her hand, checked her watch, and turned to her young master.
"We're right on time. Let's see if there's any hunter that Haemin-nim needs to fix, then we'll go to the Commission Center."
"Mmh, okay."
He nodded without looking at her.
He didn't know what to expect earlier, but after researching about it while he was taking his bath, he now has a rough idea on how his day would go.
According to the website, hunters who need a high-ranking healer and stuffs go to the Hunter's Aid. It aligns just fine to my knowledge about Baek Raehwan's guild from the novel. I haven't really tried using Haemin's skills yet but it should be fine, right? After all, if this is the agreement between the brothers, that means he always does this.
System, how can I use my skills?
Ding!
[System:
Answer. You can command me to activate it, or will it in your mind.]
I see. Then, it's that thing, right? If, like, I want it to activate, then it will come out? Something like that?
[System:
Answer. Yes, exactly.]
I'm glad the setting is as cliché as it can be. That makes things easier.
Should he be glad that Shiro didn't bother complicating the power system? At times like these made him relieved that Shiro stuck to writing munchkin novels.
They arrived at the third floor, with him following closely behind Han Jiwon.
Baek Haemin's first impression was that it wasn't that different from a normal clinic. Rows of beds lying around with curtains separating them. A clean white tile floor surrounding it.
Some beds have patients, and some don't. It was a normal day for the Hunter's Aid.
A man with long black hair approached the two of them. He pushed the rim of his glasses with a single finger, a faint gleam flashing across the lenses.
"Hunter Haemin, you're finally here."
Finally?
Jiwon frowned at him,
"Hold on—"
"Yes, I am. Is there anything I can help you with?"
Haemin adjusted his clothes and interrupted Jiwon.
Who's this guy?
Ding!
[System:
Name: Han Seokmin]
Han Seokmin? I don't remember anyone like that in the novel. An extra, huh?
Seokmin narrowed his eyes at Baek Haemin, and smirked.
"What a surprise. Is our young master-nim actually in the mood to lend us his power?"
Ha? What's up with this guy?
Haemin's left brow lit up. He smiled so wide, one almost couldn't see the iris on his eyes.
"That's right. I mean, I'm sure you have some stuffs you can't handle without me, right?"
Hmph, how old do you think I am? I don't know who you are, but you're pissing me off. Seriously.
Han Seokmin's face twitched. That wasn't the reaction he expected from Baek Haemin. Normally, the bratty young master would've already snapped if someone ever tries to stop him in his tracks for no reason.
Jiwon suddenly pulled his ear, making him wince in pain.
"O, ouch! Ow! T, that hurts, Jiwon-ah!"
"Oppa*! How many times have I told you not to pick a fight with the young master?! Stop being rude to him!"
"I, I got it! I got it already! Let go, it really hurts!"
Jiwon finally let go of him after she saw him tear up. He touched his ears and his lips pouted.
She looked at Baek Haemin and apologized,
"I'm sorry, young master. You know my oppa, he's just naturally rude, but he doesn't mean any harm by it."
So they're siblings. I don't really see the resemblance, though.
Haemin waved his hands,
"It's fine, I'm not really offended by it."
Jiwon's eyes gleamed and happily leaned closer to him,
"As expected of young master! You're so kind! Oppa, is there anyone that needs Haemin-nim's care?"
"Hmph, we never run out of patients here. But we don't currently have anyone that's in critical state so we can handle things on our own here."
Han Seokmin scoffed, still pouting after his little sister bullied him.
Jiwon nodded,
"I see. We can go straight to the Commission Center then. Let's go, young master."
"Huh? Ah, okay."
Haemin followed Jiwon back to the elevator.
That's it? Seriously?
