Chapter 182 - Chapter 182 Be a Strong Child, Itsuka Kotori

"Zafkiel - Dalet (Fourth Bullet)."

By absorbing Ryuya's magical energy to maximize Zafkiel's power, Kurumi first contained the spread of the fire, then began restoring all the buildings, scenery, and everything that had been destroyed.

Meanwhile, Ryuya used his Reality Marble, Eternal Kingdom, to resurrect those who had suffocated from smoke or been crushed by collapsing structures.

Inside the flame-filled room, watching the house slowly restore itself, Origami couldn't believe what was happening before her eyes.

"What... what is all this?"

As far as she could see, the devastated street was recovering, and even her parents, who had stopped breathing, were gradually reviving.

Unable to comprehend the phenomenon before her, Origami ran outside, guided by her intuition.

"Hey there, quite the energetic little girl, aren't you?"

Outside, the first person Origami saw was a man wearing light-colored casual clothes. He had a tall build and a very charming face.

Even though she was several years younger, Origami was drawn to the aura the man exuded. Spotting Ryuya immediately, she slowly walked over to him, looking at the shimmering white lines radiating from around him, "Onii-san, did you save us?"

Noticing the white threads connecting to the deceased people on the street, and being one of the few conscious individuals among the countless unconscious ones, Origami asked.

"If you mean saving the lost lives, then yes, it was me."

Ryuya had come to Tengu City with Kurumi and Nia around the time Kotori was due to become the Fire Spirit. He discovered that Kotori actually had an older sister and a younger sister… Itsuka Shiori and Itsuka Mana.

Pondering how the Takamiya Siblings from the original plot had been directly gender-swapped into the Itsuka Family, he wasn't particularly bothered by it.

He had been living nearby and detected the moment Kotori became the Fire Spirit.

'How did Mio do it? I clearly left a monitoring spell on Itsuka Kotori.'

He hadn't sensed any fluctuations from Kotori's transformation into a Spirit at all. By the time Ryuya realized, the disaster had already occurred.

Acting immediately to suppress the Fire Spirit's loss of control, Ryuya saw Origami.

He smiled and greeted her, noticing the girl looked very excited.

"Onii-san, was it you who saved me?"

[Expressing heartfelt gratitude for you saving her parents, Origami looked at your figure and inquired about your identity.]

["My name is Ryuya. I'm a neighbor who just moved in recently."]

["Origami, please keep this a secret for me, okay?"]

[Not wanting to expose your identity, you used suggestion magecraft to alter the memories of the nearby ordinary people, making them believe it was a gas explosion.]

[Agreeing to your request, Origami asked you what had caused the phenomenon in the neighborhood.]

["Well... it's the power of a Spirit."]

[Not explaining too much to Origami, you simply chatted with her briefly and left your contact information.]

["Origami, I have other matters to attend to now. Let's talk next time we meet."]

[As you needed to meet the Fire Spirit, you didn't engage in a deep conversation with Origami.]

[Arriving at the Itsuka Family's doorstep, you encountered the Fire Spirit enveloped in flames… none other than Itsuka Kotori.]

"What... what's happening to me?"

The scorching flames covering her body were none other than the Astral Dress, Elohim Gibor, of Camael. Looking at the flames in her hands, the nine-year-old Kotori couldn't accept this version of herself.

She didn't even have a concept of what a Spirit was.

"Little girl, it seems your body has a power you can't control."

Ryuya sensed the terror of those flames on Kotori. Although she was still very weak now, her flames were clearly not ordinary fire but a rule-based power with significant destructive potential, so he could even feel that his own body might not withstand being burned by them.

"Onii-san... Kotori, Kotori has turned into a monster."

Her glistening eyes filled with tears, Kotori looked at Ryuya at a complete loss. She was too young to understand what was happening around her.

"Don't be afraid, Kotori..."

The Kabbalah Tree of Life within him began to operate. During the past year or so of leisure time, Ryuya had also mastered some of the Tree's power. He could now slightly utilize abilities like Zafkiel and Rasiel.

"Kotori, don't be nervous. Look around… this is just a minor accident."

While soothing Kotori's emotions, he gradually used the Kabbalah Tree of Life to seal her power.

Looking at the crying little girl, Ryuya thought for a moment and used the Earth King's ability, Wisdom of the People, to retrieve a very beautiful black hair accessory.

"Itsuka Kotori, I've sealed your power for you."

"As long as you wear this hair accessory, you will be a strong child."

Ryuya helped Kotori tie up her deep crimson hair. He wasn't very good at comforting children, but it basically came down to encouraging them with kind words.

"Kotori... is a strong child?"

Realizing the flames around her had vanished, Kotori stopped her crying.

Looking at the restored calm surroundings, she noticed two other girls had appeared beside Ryuya: one was a charming young woman with gold and crimson eyes, the other a holy-looking girl in a nun's habit.

Somehow envious of the aura these two girls had, she thought for a moment and asked softly, "Onii-san, can you tell Kotori your name?"

Clutching the hair accessory on her head, Kotori felt a continuous surge of strength from deep within… a different kind of confidence.

"Me? My name is Ryuya."

Letting out a long sigh of relief, Ryuya reflected that most of the events related to the Spirits in his memory were now handled according to the timeline.

All that remained was to wait four years for the main story to begin, for Tohka to appear.

Leaving the Itsuka Residence with Kurumi and Nia, he told Kotori that the next time they met, he would treat her to something delicious.

But the prerequisite was that Kotori had to be a strong child, just like she was today.
