Sera nodded slowly. "Maybe Eric will be more reasonable."
Claudia let out a soft laugh as she poured tea into Sera's cup. "About sending you to face Alpha Mark?" She shook her head with gentle amusement. "You really still know nothing about werewolves. You have nothing to prove to any one of us, Sera," Claudia continued. "You are the alpha's mate chosen by the Moon goddess. Even the pack, when thinking clearly, will not let you anywhere near battle—not while carrying the next shadow wolf."
"As Luna, surely I should be able to do something?" she asked quietly.
Claudia set the teapot down and gave her a soft, understanding look. "You are already doing something," she said gently. "Just being by his side is something. And caring for your people."
Sera sat down at the table, staring at the breakfast in front of her as she tried to process that.
