Claudia stared at him.
Of all the things she had expected Eric to remember from his childhood, that night had never crossed her mind. She had been so certain he had been too young.
"I cant believe you remember that. You were six…I loved your father. He was my very soul. At some point, I kept thinking the moon goddess made a mistake and I was supposed to be his mate but it didn't matter. He was mine and I was his. Did I ever tell you how many women I fought to be with him?"
Eric laughed again knowing his mother quite well.
Claudia smiled at the memory. It was one of the reasons she was blinded by Delilah's duplicity. She thought the girl was just being like her at a young age.
The girl had been fiery, possessive, dramatic. Claudia had seen those traits and remembered her own younger self clawing her way through rivals, refusing to let anyone near the man she had decided belonged to her.
In hindsight, the difference now seemed painfully obvious.
