"Do you want me to guess who?" Isaac asked.
Cyril looked up at him slowly. "Why do I get the feeling you already know who?"
A faint smile tugged at Isaac's mouth.
"Because I saw you both at the awakening party and you looked smitten."
Cyril let out a quiet sigh, leaning back in his chair. "Yeah…" Cyril sighed.
"Do you think there is hope of you both being together when she becomes available?"
Cyril shook his head slowly. "No."
Hope had once existed, when Sera had asked to marry him. A fragile possibility he had allowed himself to consider during sleepless nights that maybe she would someday love him.
But that hope had faded as the truth of the situation became clearer.
"The alpha is getting married so why not?" Isaac asked.
Cyril's fingers curled lightly around the edge of the table. "That's the part I cannot tell you."
So much of what he knew was wrapped in secrets that could not yet be revealed—not without consequences that might ripple through the entire pack.
