Cyril dipped into a respectful bow. "Understood, Luna Mother." Straightening, he turned and began weaving through the crowd toward Mark. He calmly told the visiting alpha his presence wasn't welcome there and to leave immediately.
Meanwhile, Sera followed the signs toward the restrooms. The music faded behind her. She hesitated outside the door for half a second before pushing it open.
Eric was at the sink, jacket off, sleeves rolled up, furiously wiping champagne from his dark suit with a packet of wipes. His reflection looked…rumpled. Angry.
"Alpha?" Sera ventured.
He didn't look up. "Can't you read signs?" he snapped. "This is the men's restroom."
"Mrs Blackwood wanted me to check in on you. Is everything alright?"
"Everything is peachy," Eric replied flatly, scrubbing harder at a nonexistent stain.
"Clearly, it is not. Why are you angry?"
That made him look up.
