Cody had just returned to the country and was immediately greeted with this situation. He had only heard of such scams, never expected one to happen to him.
"Ma'am, I didn't touch you." His voice was calm and gentle.
Hearing this soft tone, the old woman instantly assumed he was an easy target and squeezed harder.
"Didn't touch me? If you didn't touch me, how did I fall? You look so well-dressed, yet you speak like this!"
At that point, Cody's expression changed.
"Aiya, scamming people in broad daylight now?"
"?" The old woman glared at the person who interrupted, Penelope, and snapped,
"Who are you? Don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong!"
But Penelope was exactly the type who loved sticking her nose into other people's business.
And she loved scenes like this.
