Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Taking advantage

"Let me take you to work."

Emma woke up half an hour late this morning; she was indeed a bit rushed.

"Okay, thank you."

Alex curled his lips, smiled lightly: "No need to be polite, Emma."

His eyes suddenly stopped on her empty hand: "Why aren't you wearing a ring?"

Emma raised her hand, glanced at his ring finger, where the ring was still neatly placed: "That ring is too expensive, I'm afraid I'll accidentally break it."

The diamond ring was very beautiful, but its value was really too great. Right now, her position in the company was just a small intern, wearing such a gorgeous ring didn't suit her "image".

Alex gently tugged on her sleeve, his tone full of hidden meaning: "If you don't wear it, how will others know you're married?"

Emma was silent, smiled awkwardly: "Do I need to tell them?"

"Of course. Emma, why do you want to hide your marriage? Are you planning to have an affair?"

Adultery, this word sounds really scary.

There was no other way; she had to compromise: "Okay, okay, I'll wear it."

Seeing the ring on her ring finger, Alex's mood suddenly improved: "Let's go, I'll take you to the company."

---

Sure enough, wearing this gorgeous ring also comes at a price. Cindy, with her ugly personality, immediately caused trouble again.

"Oh, Emma, where did you buy this 'pigeon egg' ring? Online? It must have cost thousands of dollars, right?"

Emma raised her eyebrows slightly and replied mercilessly: "It stinks if you don't rinse your mouth when you go out in the morning."

"Emma, who do you say stinks?"

"Whoever answers is the one."

The two of them were now like fire and water, not compatible. Cindy immediately curled her lips and smiled coldly: "Humph, someone is wearing fake clothes and still pretending, how shameless."

Not knowing when, Dominic had appeared behind them: "What are you guys talking about?"

Cindy was startled, stammering: "General Manager, good morning."

Emma remained calm, neither arrogant nor humble: "Good morning, General Manager."

"Seeing everyone arguing so fiercely, but I think the office is a place to work, not a place to gossip. I don't want to hear such offensive words anymore."

Dominic was no longer as gentle as yesterday; his eyes were cold, his voice was also more serious: "Cindy, do you agree with my point of view?"

Cindy trembled and replied: "Yes, I agree."

Emma smiled weakly, shrugged: "I agree too. But General Manager, if someone attacks me first, do I have the right to fight back?"

"..."

Dominic realized that this intern, named Emma, was not the type to be bullied easily. She looked gentle, but whoever dared to touch her limits would be mercilessly retaliated against.

He shook his head and simply said, "It's up to you."

---

When Dominic reported the situation to Leah, she suddenly regretted not waking up in time to witness this scene this morning.

"So who do you think won that argument?"

Dominic frowned, "General Manager Leah? Is this the crux of the matter?"

"Oh, Emma is married. I know the ring you just mentioned. It's one of the famous pieces by the international jewelry designer Sibyl, created for his first love. This ring was just auctioned in Los Angeles. Do you think the ring Emma is wearing is that one?

Dominic frowned: "Where did such a big ring come from?"

Leah mused: "I don't know. Maybe she's a relative of one of Grandpa's business partners."

"Grandpa told us, we don't have to be so specific. Let them handle things like verbal arguments."

Dominic nodded. Indeed, if he showed too much favoritism towards an intern, it would make others dissatisfied.

"Understood."

---

Aria quickly received a second appointment from Patrick.

Patrick sat opposite, his expression serious: "Do you know what evidence you brought the other day?"

Aria smiled slightly: "I know."

"You and your husband have a two-year-old son."

She raised her eyebrows and replied: "Yes."

Aria looked straight into his eyes, as if wanting to catch even the slightest wavering behind those cold glasses.

Patrick smiled weakly: "You are very good. You take advantage of others; even I won't forgive you."

"Lawyer Patrick, for you, this is also a win-win opportunity." Aria paused for a moment, then continued: "To be more precise, for your whole family, this is a win-win opportunity, right?"

Patrick's eyes instantly turned cold. This woman had indeed been aiming for this for a long time.

Step by step, she approached him, forcing him to accept her lawsuit. On the surface, it was just a divorce, but in reality, it was a dangerous invitation.

"If these things were made public, you would only suffer more."

Aria curled her lips slightly: "Then can I add one more condition, lawyer Patrick?"

---

Three days later, a seemingly normal news quickly climbed to the top of the hot search list:

[The only son of the richest tycoon in New York was arrested by the police for investigation, suspected of being involved in a murder.]

When Emma saw this news, she almost dropped her phone.

Terrence carried a bag on his shoulder and patted her on the shoulder: "Let's go, we're going to Morris Group."

Emma nodded repeatedly. At this moment, she was afraid that a group of reporters would also rush there.

On the way to the car, Terrence curled his lips and smiled faintly: "He is indeed a rich kid, good at debauchery. If Christian gives birth to such a son, he will definitely regret it until his heart turns green. This time, Anthony is afraid that it will be difficult to escape."

Emma's almond eyes widened: "What did you just say? Anthony. The person who was arrested is Anthony?"

Terrence glanced at her: "That's right. Anthony Morris, the only son of Christian Morris, the richest man in New York. Haven't you heard of him?"

She had heard. More than once.

Emma remembered that in the hospital where she accidentally met Aria, her evil mother-in-law had mentioned her son many times. And that person's name... seemed to be Anthony Morris.
