Just then, before Shikoku moved out of fear, before Shorty or number 4 moved to do anything to Akira, a short little golden spark lit up behind Akira.
It was abrupt, too sudden to react to, but then the lights turned on and the air suddenly became moist and humid, no longer venomous to the body.
All eyes were on the one sitting in front of Akira, leaning in, head on her cheek as a small yet cheerful smile was plastered on her face.
"I think I'll take care of this one, thank you."
Shikoku blinked, "Lady...R-Rinta."
Rinta looked over her shoulder, a grin on her face, "Don't worry, Rinta will handle this, okay? The rest of you..." her eyes relaxed as she slid back to the Glowing eyed freak in front of her, "...can just leave quietly. I don't like noise."
Genju, Shikoku, shorty and number 4 stared for a moment. Genju was the first to get up and quietly walk away, number 4 next and lastly Shorty. Only Shikoku remained, his blue eyes fixated on the two women—no, not women—demons.
"Shi-chan, you're still here silly~"
Shikoku's hands twitched, snapping him out of his daze, "M-My apologies. I...I shall take my leave."
He walked out of the room and closed the door.
Wait, what? Door?
Akira's eyes were solely fixated on the new comer who seemed a little bit too friendly for her taste, it reminded her of—
"Sooo, I've heard you've been causing a lotta trouble, hm? Care to explain to me why you're...making a ruckus?"
Akira's glowing irises flickered for a second. Ruckus? Who the hell even says that anymore?
"I was brought here against my—" Akira replied, leaning back on her chair, hands on the table, until she noticed that her cuffs were back.
Noticing her shock, Rinta laughed softly, "Don't worry, it's normal for things to get fixed when Rinta's around. It kinda helps...keep things in order."
Akira's eyes, her attention even, was still on the cuffs.
When did they get there?
"Eyes up here, Aki. I wanna talk to you and you're ignoring me, which is kinda annoying."
Akira took a breath. She knew, at least by presence and sheer reasonable deduction that whoever this person was, they were the strongest.
"Good, now that you're paying attention to Rinta, I guess I can start asking you questions, right?"
"Sure..." Akira muttered, but her brows furrowed in confusion a little bit.
Rinta took a deep breath before her hands suddenly interlocked with Akira's as she started squealing with excitement:
"EEEK, I'VE NEVER MET ANOTHER HYBRID BEFORE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! What's it like? What do you eat? How do your powers work?! What's it like being a Hybrid and also—"
"Woah, hold it! You can't just hold my hands like we're friends! What the hell?! Haven't you ever heard of boundaries?" Akira snapped.
Rinta stuck out her tounge and chuckled, "My bad, Rinta didn't mean to come off as strange."
There it was again.
Akira's eyes muted a little as she asked, "Hey, why do you do that?"
Rinta looked confused, tilted her head and asked, "Do what?"
"You keep switching between 'Rinta' and 'I'. Why do you keep doing that?"
At that, Rinta's eyes narrowed, her small smirk returning as she muttered, "Clever girl."
Akira's eyes narrowed in response, but she said nothing.
Rinta stood up as she walked aeound, "Well, if you must know..."
She tapped the walls once. Just once. But that's all she needed for the entire wall to suddenly have a spider web of cracks scattering around the room.
Akira's eyes widened for a moment, "What the hell—"
"Quiet. I'm speaking now."
Akira closed her mouth, leaned in and just listened.
Rinta placed a palm on the walls, voice low and soft as the lights flickered again:
"See, us, Hybrids, aren't like the rest of the world. Other energy users, or Essentials, as we call them, are only confined to one kind of energy type. Whilst others can manipulate Energy, Special users called 'True essentials' can both create and manipulate Energy..." She said, the cracks in the walls then began to show visual representations of what she was saying, cracks mending themselves and reforming to show literal symbols of what she was saying:
"Despite knowing that energy users are only born naturally or randomly awaken from a near death experience, Humans are greedy creatures. They forced what shouldn't be and therefore instead of creation, their form of manipulation is destruction and erasure. 'False Essentials'..."
Akira's eyes flickered with a small sense of familiarity. Her breath hitched a little when she heard that. And of course, Rinta noticed.
Rinta sighed, her eyes softening, "Humans are seen as demons. Greedy creatures that kill without remorse. But not all are like this, which causes a taboo mixture to be born into the world."
"Hybrids. Unlike Essentials or Humans, Hybrids are the in-between. Not fully Essential, but...Not fully human either. We have the ability to both Create or manipulate and Destroy or erase, but never all four..."
She glanced at Akira, "Our powers are tailored to who we are, or how we shape our abilities to be at will. Take, for example, me."
She sat down, stared at Akira again, "Rinta has the ability to manipulate and erase manipulation at will. Whenever I say my name after mixing my energy into the desired object, my ability of manipulation is awakened. This room is that object."
Akira's eyes lit up at the revelation, "So that's why you keep—"
Rinta held a finger over her own mouth, grinning slightly, "Shush. Listen."
"That's why Rinta always says her name like that. I keep my energy flowing by uttering my name. And since I didn't put much energy to fix this room, I don't need to keep saying my name too much. That is why I say my name like that..."
She grinned wider as she sighed, "Okay, you can speak now!"
Akira's hands twitched a little, "So this entire time, you've been fixing the room with your name?"
"Well not just my name, our Name."
"What?"
"Yep, believe it or not...Rinta isn't actually one person..."
"I'm a Hybrid Fusion."
