Xu Jingyi slept until noon after being thoroughly worn out the first night. Lin Ruoyan had already gone to work in the morning, but not before holding and kissing her for a while before leaving.
She was too tired. After Lin Ruoyan left, she slept until now. She hadn't woken up on her own; rather, the noise outside had roused her.
Dozing for a while, she realized there were quite a few people. It sounded like they were right outside her door. Xu Jingyi frowned and got out of bed, throwing on a piece of clothing to see what was going on.
As she got out of bed, her uncooperative legs went weak, and she almost fell. Fortunately, her hand caught the bed, preventing her from tumbling.
The moment she opened the door, she was startled by the scene before her. Several people in work uniforms were in her room.
"What are you doing?" Ignoring her aching waist and uncomfortable body, she grabbed the nearest person and asked angrily.
The worker was also taken aback, but seeing her appearance, he figured she was the owner of the house. He turned his head and called out, "Boss! Boss! Someone's here."
A man in a shirt quickly hurried over. "Hello, hello…" He smiled as he spoke, pulling out his business card and handing it to Xu Jingyi. "We're from Anxin Furniture. The bed you ordered this morning has been delivered, and we're installing it now."
Xu Jingyi frowned even harder. When did she order a bed?
It was this morning, and she hadn't woken up all morning.
"What's the last name of the person who ordered the bed?" Xu Jingyi asked, suppressing her temper. She had been woken up, and her body wasn't feeling well to begin with. Seeing so many people standing in her room made her anger rise even further.
"The last name is… let me see…" The man also realized that the situation seemed off, and quickly took out his phone to look at the order. "The last name is Lin, and the name is Lin Ruoyan."
Xu Jingyi took a deep breath. She had guessed it was her the moment the man said the name, but hearing it confirmed still made her furious. Her face was gloomy, and she restrained herself from taking her anger out on the innocent person, "I don't need to change my bed. Take your bed away."
The man looked troubled, "But… but the bed is almost installed, and we've already taken your old bed away."
Xu Jingyi was so angry that her temples were throbbing. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, "Where did you take it?"
"The garbage dump…"
"Miss, our service here is to help with disposing of old furniture. We asked Miss Lin how to handle it, and Miss Lin said…" The man looked at Xu Jingyi's face and quickly said, "Miss Lin said to take it directly to the garbage dump."
Xu Jingyi's temples throbbed even harder. She looked inside the room; the new bed was about 70% assembled. "Who opened the door for you?"
"It was… Auntie downstairs." The man was even more nervous; he had never encountered such a situation. For a moment, he didn't know what to do, so he could only find something to say, "Miss, please don't worry. Our service is very good. We all wear shoe covers when we come in, and we are especially careful when moving the furniture. We definitely won't damage anything in your home."
Xu Jingyi stood for a short while and her back began to ache. She supported the door frame with one hand and her waist with the other. "Go and call Auntie over."
The man hurried off immediately.
Within a minute, Auntie also came over quickly. "Madam, it's Miss. She called and said you knew."
Xu Jingyi saw Auntie and quickly straightened her body.
"I…" Auntie didn't know she had made such a big mistake. "I saw you weren't in the room, and I didn't know if you knew, so… so…"
Auntie had been working in this house for several years and had never seen Xu Jingyi so angry. Seeing her face, she was genuinely frightened, and her voice trembled.
"Did the Young Miss call you?" Xu Jingyi asked, ignoring Auntie's words about "seeing that you weren't in your room." Her face was grim, but her ears were slightly red.
How absurd, she thought, doing something like this with her own sister-in-law and then sleeping until noon.
"Y-yes, she did. Look… you…" She quickly took out her phone, intending to use the chat logs to prove that she was just following the Young Miss's instructions.
Xu Jingyi raised her hand to block Auntie's phone, rubbed her temples, and said in a low voice, "Carry on. Keep it down, and thank you for your hard work."
She turned and walked into Lin Ruoyan's room. "Auntie, just keep an eye on things upstairs, don't let anything get broken. I'm going to rest in Ruoyan's room for a bit."
After she entered the room and closed the door, the two outside finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Whew…"
"This job is… Let's continue, quietly." The man signaled to resume work.
Xu Jingyi had just entered Lin Ruoyan's room when she quickly supported her lower back with her hands, muttering softly as she walked towards the bed, "She's not even that much younger than me, how can she be so energetic?"
Last night, she was pinned down on the bed, her back arched into a large curve, and it still ached faintly there.
The sounds outside lessened, and Xu Jingyi sat back on the bed, gently rubbing her temples, a headache brewing because of Lin Ruoyan's actions.
Tsk tsk tsk, this possessiveness.
She vaguely knew what Lin Ruoyan meant by changing her old bed.
Last night, she hinted to Lin Ruoyan…
