Alex's POV:
The air between us suddenly thickened. It wasn't the light, playful atmosphere we had before. It was heavier. Tighter. A pulse of warmth rippled through my body, and my senses became sharp, focused. It was like the room around us had disappeared, and all I could feel was her—her scent, her presence, her body pressed against mine as I pinned her down, trying to get that final laugh out of her.
It was intoxicating. I didn't know what to call it, but I knew it felt wrong to ignore it. Something inside me stirred—something animalistic, powerful. My wolf.
My breath hitched.
Raven's scent, mixed with the lingering sweetness of the moment, was enough to make my wolf stir in the deepest parts of me.
And then it was like a switch flipped.
