I looked at Mo Yuzhen as he smiled at me, as if none of my words had reached him at all.
"You're rejecting me because you don't know how serious I am about you," he said confidently. "Xiyu, I really, really, really do love you. I promise I will keep you happy."
My irritation surged instantly. Before I could react, he stepped closer and forcefully stuffed the bouquet of roses into my hands. The strong scent hit my nose, sweet and overwhelming.
"Give me a chance," he said, smiling as if he were certain of the outcome. "I'll prove it to you."
That was the last straw.
I lowered my gaze to the flowers in my hands, then lifted my head slowly. Without another word, I flung the bouquet onto the ground. The roses scattered messily across the parking lot, petals bruised under the harsh lights.
"Are you done embarrassing yourself?" I said coldly. "Or do you plan to continue blocking my way like this?"
His smile froze.
