The moment I reached the second floor, my steps slowed.
The corridor split into two hallways, one stretching to the left, the other to the right. Both were quiet, dimly lit, and completely empty. I paused there, my brows knitting slightly as I wondered which way to go.
Then I saw it.
A red arrow, small but vivid, fixed to the wall ahead. It pointed unmistakably toward the left hallway. I couldn't help but smile. Shaking my head lightly, I followed it, my heart already beginning to race.
So mysterious, I thought, warmth blooming in my chest.
As soon as I turned left, my breath caught. The hallway was empty of people, yet breathtaking. A deep red carpet stretched forward like a ribbon laid just for me.
Red roses were scattered across the floor, their petals forming a delicate path beneath my feet. Candles lined both sides, their flames flickering softly, casting a gentle glow that wrapped the corridor in warmth and intimacy.
My smile deepened.
