I stare at him — and all at once, my body begins to melt. That scent. Black Orchid.
Ahh… I draw in a shaky breath, lungs filling with that dark, velvety fragrance that shouldn't calm me but does. My heartbeat slows, my muscles unwind, and for a fleeting second, I forget who's standing in front of me.
Rion moves closer, silent, composed. Then he leans down and lifts me effortlessly from the bathtub. Water trails down my skin, falling in soft, broken sounds — tip… tip… tip… My head rests against his chest, and everything about this moment feels dangerously right.
The ache, the burn, the fever that's been eating me alive for days — it's gone. My body finally stops trembling.
"You're so stubborn, my omega," he murmurs, voice low enough to shiver down my spine.
