Chapter 86: Holiday

"The best part for today is no Homework" said Sirius Black dramatically. "You all can go back to your dormitory to sleep"

Some student chuckled, since Sirius Black replaced Professor Binns there is no longer a student sleeping inside the Class. As an ex marauder he knows how to make class more entertaining than other Professor.

Student began to leave the classroom however, Sirius suddenly called Dudley.

"I heard from Dumbledore it was you who was suggesting me to become a professor," said Sirius Black as he leaned casually against the desk, watching Dudley gather his things to leave the classroom.

Dudley looked around to make sure the other student left the class before answering him.

"It's okay, Sirius… no, I mean Professor Black," Dudley replied, pausing awkwardly at the doorway. He scratched the back of his neck, uncertain whether to use the informal name anymore.

Sirius chuckled and waved his hand dismissively. "No, it's fine. Just call me Sirius like usual. I'm not Minnie.... I don't really care about titles."

"Minnie?" Dudley raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Do you mean Professor McGonagall?"

There was a noticeable shift in Sirius expression. His eyebrows lifted in genuine surprise. "What? How did you know that?"

Dudley grinned faintly, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. "Well… M for Minerva or M for McGonagall. There's no one else named Minnie in this school, so I figured it must be her."

Sirius stared at the boy for a moment, then let out a low whistle. "Woah… you're really clever. Not even Harry ever figured that out, and Merlin knows how funny their face when I revealed Minnie is a McGonagall." He shook his head, half-impressed and half-dismayed. "Not even Dumbledore caught on, and that's saying something."

"I guess I just pay attention," said Dudley with a shrug, trying not to look too proud.

"You do," Sirius agreed thoughtfully. "And you've got good instincts. That's rare, especially in this castle where half the students wouldn't notice if a Hippogriff danced on the dinner table."

Dudley let out a soft laugh. "Well, I've always had to be a little more aware of things… I wasn't exactly raised in the magical world."

Sirius grin faded into something softer. He nodded slowly. "Yeah. I forget sometimes that you are muggle born, same like lily. You weren't born into it, but you're fitting in faster than I expected. You're not just floating along, you're actually thinking."

"Thanks," Dudley said, a bit surprised at the compliment. Coming from someone like Sirius, it meant something. "I'm trying. I don't want to be the one everyone whispers about because I'm different."

Sirius's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Why does our talk makes you look like the 1st year who just entered Hogwarts. Man you are 15th years old, should I call you boy instead? Being different isn't always a bad thing. Trust me. I've made a career out of it."

Dudley snorted. "So I've heard a career as a prisoner of Azkaban."

The two shared a brief, companionable silence, then suddenly laughed. Then Sirius pushed off the desk and gestured toward the corridor.

"Go on then, before I start giving you real homework."

Dudley rolled his eyes playfully. "Right. Wouldn't want that."

As he turned to leave, Sirius called after him, "And Dudley, if you ever have another nickname for Minnie or Dumbledore, do tell me. I like the nicknames.

Dudley grinned. "No promises."

---Time Skip---

Finally, after several long months of studying, the students at Hogwarts were granted their long-awaited holiday for two weeks. For most, it was a time to relax, return home, or simply take a break from the constant stream of magical lessons and house rivalries. But for Harry Potter, this particular holiday felt different, better. In fact, it was the first time in years that he was genuinely excited for the break.

Unlike before, Harry was looking forward to the holiday not because he wanted to escape Hogwarts, but because of the people who would be around him. For one, Sirius Black, his godfather, was now a father figure who will be there in Privet Drive.

After years of longing for family, Harry finally had someone who truly cared for him, though he forgot that his aunt are trying to fix the relationship when she knows Dudley her son are also a wizard.

The second reason, one that surprised even himself, was the change in his cousin, Dudley Dursley. Dudley, who had once bullied Harry throughout their childhood, had grown into someone entirely different, someone Harry could now call a friend or brother. He had asked Dudley why he didn't try to talk to him in Hogwarts?

"I feel bad and guilty to you, I remember what I did to you when we was young" said Dudley. "But this year is different, Voldemort is return and I know you need your family more and im sorry Harry."

Hearing Dudley said 'im sorry', make Harry also cry.

Since then they become closer and to add to that ever since Ron Weasley had taken a week-long holiday to visit his father on St Mungo and stay with him until full recovery.

Harry, Dudley and Hermione had become partners in crime. Together, they had achieved the unthinkable, the banishment of Professor Binns from teaching history classes. Their plan had cause chaos for a while but eventually the chaos died down when Sirius Black replaced Binns as a Professor.

Previously, it had always been Harry, Ron, and Hermione.... "the golden trio" as many called them. They had been through everything together, trolls, basilisks, and even the thing that could cost their life.

Their shared experiences had formed an unbreakable bond. But now, with Ron away for a while and Hermione buried in her advanced studies, Harry found himself spending more time with Dudley, and surprisingly, he enjoying it.

This year felt different. Yes, Voldemort was still out there, lurking in the shadows, gathering strength but for once, Harry didn't feel entirely alone. Compared to his previous years at Hogwarts, this one had more laughter, more camaraderie, and more moments of peace. In his first year, he had faced a troll and nearly died trying to stop Voldemort.

In second year, it was Tom Riddle diary and a giant Basilisk. His third year was filled with the terror of Dementors and the mystery surrounding Sirius Black. The fourth year had been traumatic, witnessing the death of Cedric Diggory and the return of Voldemort during the Triwizard Tournament.

Now, despite the dark clouds looming over the magical world, Harry felt a flicker of happiness. It wasn't perfect... Lucius Malfoy was still scheming, and some students continued to mock him, calling him a liar or worse. But this year, with Sirius standing beside him and Dudley proving to be a true ally and family, Harry had finally found something precious at Hogwarts, it is joy.

And that, more than anything, made this holiday worth looking forward to.
